Advantages: Free and Fast Delivery, Excellent Service, Great Prices Disadvantages: None I Think!
I had always heard of the company called Screwfix but never really thought much about them, let alone using them. But out of pure curiosity one day I decided to request a catalogue from them via their website. Within a couple of days the catalogue arrived and was full to the brim of bits for the DIY or Trade person. The prices in there are at trade prices and therefore a lot cheaper than you find in your local DIY stores. I needed to get myself a ... ...the one there was faulty and needed to be replaced. But not only did I need to get a consumer unit I also needed the Mini Circuit Breakers to go in them. I had looked around in various places such as DIY stores and local wholesale outlets but could not really find anywhere that was as cheap as the ones in the Screwfix catalogue.
Due to the prices I found I decided to go ahead with the order and providing that the order is placed with them before ...

Advantages: Huge range of products. Disadvantages: You have to do the work yourself!!
I received one of their catalogues a few years back and was impressed by the wide range of goods available. I had no problems placing an order over the phone and my goods were delivered within three days. I live in Northern Ireland so delivery times are different for us in comparison with the rest of the UK.
I still get their catalogues but hadn't placed an order until just the other day - 14/2/04 - which I did online. The site was really easy to ... ...choose the items, then place your order, unless you have shopped before on the site, in which case it picks up your details from your login reference, which saves you the bother of filling out delivery forms.
The site is brightly coloured and very welcoming. It gives a list of headings under which you will be able to find your desired product. There is also a search engine, so if you don't know exactly what the product is, perhaps you are placing ...

What is Screwfix.com?
Online and catalgoe retailer of DIY, building and gardening supplies and equipment.
The range varies from budget 'home' use solutions to professional quality products designed for the trade.
The company started life as a trade supply unit and has graduated over the years into the enthusiast market.
You can order online, by phone or post. I have tried internet ordering and had to call on a few occasions ... ...laid out. I often use this to plan my online order. This appears once you have asked for one or placed an order.
Why Use Screwfix?
Price is the primary reason - they are very competitive on most products. Not all are as cheap as the best prices in B&Q, but the larger quantities often are the best.
This leads me to the main downside - you do not have to, but pricing and delivery is mostly geared to trade quantities. You need to ...

Http://www.screwfix.com I have used Screwfix many times and have never been disappointed. You can order goods online or order a catalogue online and place an order either online, by post or by telephone. Their catalogue has the most comprehensive range of goods I have seen. Usually they offer freebies if you meet their requirements. Postage is made for next day delivery if you meet the deadline and is free if you spend more than £45. Their pricing ...

Advantages: Easy to use Disadvantages: Very expensive and caused a larger blockage
...was plumbed into the same pipe so when I came home from work I quickly put a load of washing in before managing the kitchen sink. Then I was distracted by the thought of food, made myself dinner and sat down to watch eastenders.
Luckily, my living room is in my kitchen, as out of the corner of my eye I spotted that the kitchen sink was filling with water. Actually, I think I screamed because the sink was filled to within 1/2cm of overflowing! I should have realised that this would happen! I turned off my washing machine and the water drained from the sink back into the washing machine - taking along the sink and plughole unblocker juice!
I had to leave it like that overnight through fear of it all pouring out into the flat!
SOLUTION
In desperation I went to the trade centre across the road (Screwfix - they have a website too: www.screwfix.com...

...This is a review based on my recent experience with Screwfix.com
I have been looking for a cheap bathroom suite for a while now. I trawled all the usual sites, searched all the search engines, visited the usual stores such as B&Q, Homebase, etc. Then a friend suggested I had a look at Screwfix.com.
They sell all manner of hardware, tools, fixings, and general "DIY" equipment to the trade and the public. I wont list their entire range as it has already been done in another (very good) review.
I found a complete bathroom suite for £180 and this included VAT AND delivery ! The delivery time was quoted as 2 weeks. 10 Days later I recieved a phone call asking if it was ok to deliver my suite the following Wednesday.
The suite arrived at 7:30 am, so I was a little shocked, and tired, as I dragged myself out of bed to greet...
