...Four Points by Sheraton Konigshof, Dresden
Kreischaer Strasse 2, 01219 Dresden
We stayed in this hotel August 2007 for a two night stay in Dresden. We booked the hotel direct through their internet site.
http://starwoodhotels.com/fourpoints/property/overview/index.html?prope rtyID=1304
We managed to get a special offer room for 60 euros per night and were very surprised to end up in the Hochzeit zimmer, or honeymoon room.
Location
The only difficulty we had was with the location of the hotel, we should have looked into this before arriving in Dresden to make sure we knew where we were going as we were using public transport, and the hotel was out of the main city centre. The hotel is situated on the Altstadt side of the Elbe, were the Zwinger and opera house are. We took the tram to get to the hotel it took about 10...
...Please note: You'll find my opinions about Dresden from now on in Home » City Guide » European Cities » Dresden, so you do not need to read this one (I asked ciao to delete it). Information about the Night Skating you find in Home » City Guide » European Cities » Dresden » Festivals & Events » Nachtskaten.
Tnx!
Imagine the following: It's 9.30 pm, it's dark and you skate within 2000 people on a 4 lane well asphalted road, watching the century-old barok buildings on the other side of the river Elbe. They are floodlighted and in front of you is a car with music.
Thats what Dresdens Nightskating (Nachtskaten) is about. It runs every friday in the summer period and is the greates weekly attraction in our city. The Dresden Nightskating was one of the first ones of these events (may 1998) now establisht all over Germany...

Review of Dresden (Germany)
Advantages: Great arts and history, nice people, great food Disadvantages: Weather (sometimes, still better than most uf the UK ;-)
...Dresden has to offer a lot! Especially if you consider to take a dive into German history, enjoy the arts and fine cuisine (yes, Saxony is the only German place for fine and not too heavy food).
After the wall came down in 1989, Saxony went back to the roots of the old kingdom (August the Strong or Augustus I has been king of Saxony from the late 17th century) by naming Dresden the capital of Saxony and trying to restore as many as possible treasures that have suffered under the former communist regime and many wars before that time (7 year war late 18th century, Napoleon's occupation in 1815 and the second world war with massive bombings by the allies). See this great, brief historic wrap-up of the city at: http://members.tripod.com/scapin1/page2.htm.
Another great web site gives a complete picture of the history of Dresden...

Review of Dresden (Germany)
Advantages: extensive database of hotels, many quite inexpensive Disadvantages: if a hotel cheats you, they will apologize, but do nothing.
...Booking.com: Colluding with Corrupt Hotel Owners to Cheat Customers?
I am sorry to have to write this review, but I have tried for months to get Booking.com to address my complaint. I have reserved rooms using this service in the past, and have been very pleased. This, however, came to an end this summer.
I booked a room at the Travel Inn in Reykjavik, only to find, upon arrival, that my wife, son, and myself were escorted to a car with no explanation. Eventually the clerk told us that we would be driven to the "other" location. The Travel Inn has, it seems, bought space in the Pavi Guesthouse (over a mile away). I would have refused on principle, but I know the situation in Reykjavik is such that I might have had no options. We were driven there, the driver stopped along the way to encourage me to withdraw money from...

Review of Booking.com
Advantages: EXCELLENT HOTEL Disadvantages: NOTHING
...Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC
My wife and I have stayed here a couple of times, always in March and yes you?ve probably guessed, it?s when Crufts is on at the NEC.
Strange but a few years ago you had to book wayyy way in advance to get a room but with this recession where all going through, getting a room is easy. I suppose the stick that Crufts came under last year didn?t help either but anyhow getting back to the hotel.
You can easily book a room and they vary in price from £120 to £220 depending on things such as lake view, breakfast included or evening meal and breakfast. But as March approaches then the room prices tend to rocket.
The room is a standard large bedroom and a bathroom.
What more to add to the room? It comes with TV, Kettle, Ironing equip, small table and 2 comfy chairs. We...
Advantages: Out of the town Disadvantages: Too many people!
...I'm glad that I did not get to read any of the reviews before I went to this hotel, or see the Holidays from Hell programme the night before!
The hotel can be found along the seafront, about three miles from the main centre of Blackpool, heading out towards Fleetwood. It is now under the Britannia hotels group and it is easily accessible by tram and bus. We used the trams the whole time instead of me driving all the time.
My husband, my two youngest children and myself went last week for a couple of nights, after finding an advert which gave a special price of £35 per person dinner bed and breakfast per night. The two children were included free of charge, including their meals. The advert did state that the hotel was ungoing a £7million pound upgrade, and that some services may not be available. This did not deter us as we...
Advantages: An outstanding place to stay for any length of time. Disadvantages: Slightly high price though it is in the city area of London
...Introduction
This hotel is located close to the city of London in a vastly improved area of Hackney. The hotel is owned by entrepreneurs Simon Wright and John Pallagi. One time, during 2009 I watched a particular episode of ?The Apprentice? and some of the lucky business task winners were sent here to have a night at this exact hotel. I then later checked the website to book one night stay at this hotel and I was impressed throughout my visit from start to finish. Booking a room here made me special as to say I was surrounded by successful business people and people wanting to enjoy a stylish and sophisticated night stay at this excellent hotel.
Location
The hotel is located in the east end of London, which is an area full of yuppies, wealthy businessmen, and city workers. The place itself is quite straightforward to...

Review of Hoxton Hotel, London
...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights.
LOCATION:
The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal.
PRICE:
Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...
Advantages: good price, great location Disadvantages: no window
...****Sachas hotel- Manchester****
I booked this hotel last minute as i had a job interview in Manchester and needed somewhere quite cheap ,that was also near the centre.
**Location/Getting there**
This hotel is located in Tibb street which is a 2 minute walk from Piccadily Gardens or 10 minutes away from Chorlton street bus station. The Train station is a little bit further away say maybe a twenty minute walk but i don't think that this is that bad .You can also get a tram from Piccadily gardens and this goes to quite a few places. You could also get a taxi to the hotel but i am not sure what parking is like if you were to take your own car.
**Reception/staff**
Since i had never been to Manchester before i phoned and asked the staff for directions -they were very nice and helped me out. When i got there i think i got the same...
Advantages: Reasonably cheap accomodation Disadvantages: No in house Restaurant, No Room Service

Further Information
Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in prague from my previous recent visits to this town I had noticed a big difference in the exchange rate from forty czech koruna's to one Pound to around thirty czech koruna to one Pound. So this place is slowly catching up being a relatively new member of the E.U. Though still from a travel journey it still represents a excellent few Days away from home...
