Funky Ross!

Advantages: Modern, nice rooms and great location
Disadvantages: May not be to everyones taste

...The Ross hotel is a boutique 4* hotel in the heart of Killarney town centre. I was here on a work trip at the very end of April and this was one of my favourite hotels of the trip. The majority of hotels in this area are quite traditional in décor but, the Ross is completely the opposite! It is very funky and as soon as you enter the lobby you can't help being impressed by the bright green, pink and black décor. I had been looking forward to seeing the hotel as soon as I found out we would be visiting and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. First impressions: I suppose to be fair the exterior is nothing spectacular - in all honesty it doesn't stand out on the street that you would really notice it unless you were looking for it. And since the lady who was taking around the hotel was brining us acrossfrom the hotel across...

A good choice for golfers and visitors to the Ring of Kerry!

Advantages: Clean and great packages provided by the hotel
Disadvantages: The location if you haven't got a car

...The Castlerosse was the last hotel I stayed at during my work trip to Ireland. It is a 3* hotel that is located in Killarney located overlooking it's own golf course. I wasn?t sure how much I was going to like this hotel as compared to the others it seemed of a lower standard and not a choice I would normally go for in terms of its style. It definitely wasn?t a hotel I would choose myself but, as this was a work trip I don?t get much say on where I will normally be staying! Location: The Castlerosse is located just outside of Kerry town centre. It is quite easy to drive in and out of the centre in less than 5 minutes but, it would be a bit of a walk should you not have a car with you. The hotel is right on the ring of Kerry outskirts and is definitely and ideal choice if you want a base to explore this region...

KILLARNEY - A Town Reviewed

Advantages: Beautiful, unspoilt countryside. Captivating.
Disadvantages: You won't want to come home!!!

...***UPDATED*** Breathtaking scenery... Unspoilt countryside... A pace of life to be envied!! An overview of one of the largest towns in Southern Ireland. All information was gathered on my trip to the Emerald Isle in July 2000. Killarney Town Killarney is a busy market town and the oldest and most popular tourist destination. That said it is not as busy or as much of a tourist trap as you think it is going to be. With ‘Killarney National Park’ and the ‘Ring of Kerry’ a short drive away you can easily escape into the beautiful unspoilt countryside of Southern Ireland The town itself offers an extensive range of restaurants, entertainment and traditional Irish pubs. I would highly recommend 'Wilde Oscars' a bohemian, welcoming and stylish restaurant located in the centre of the town. A meal...

Come and relax in this stunning location

Advantages: stunning location, large rooms
Disadvantages: located outside town centre - best accessed by car

...We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in September 2005. The hotel is located 5-10 minutes drive from Killarney town centre and has an absolutely stunning location. The hotel overlooks the lake with lovely views of the mountains (including Macgillycuddy Reeks) and gap of Dunloe. You can go for peaceful walks in the grounds and walk right down to the lake. There is a tea house in the grounds. Bedrooms: We were upgraded from a golf view room to a lake view room - these are definitely worth the extra money if you want to enjoy the view. The rooms were really large and had balconies. However the decor is not the most up to date - decorated in rather old fashioned orange and gold. The bathroom is also huge - with a bath on one side of the room and toilet and shower on the other and two huge sinks. Lots of nice extras like dressing...

Quaint Irish Hotel

Advantages: Central location, great food, National Park, Cathedral & Muckross House nearby. Spacious rooms. Nice Staff
Disadvantages: Quaint & Traditional-Not modern. Food very Irish & traditional-no asian fusion cooking here

...This hotel is suitable for the traveller looking for an Irish hotel which does Irish style food and plays Irish music live in the bar. If you want a pint of the black stuff and bacon and cabbage then this is the place to go. If you want stark blank homogenous hotel chains then don't come here. This place has charm and style. its great value for money and gives you an Irish taste. Well worth the trip. While I was there I did a ring of Kerry tour which the hotel booked for me ad they picked me up at the door so it was hassle free. I also went to a show that night which I again booked through the hotel and it was only across the road in another hotel so again ideal. The staff helped me and pampered me in every way. Bedrooms are gorgeous, black and cream and beige. Very classy and decadent. Hannigans restaurant is unusual...

Booking.com helps hotels cheat customers.

Advantages: extensive database of hotels, many quite inexpensive
Disadvantages: if a hotel cheats you, they will apologize, but do nothing.

...Booking.com: Colluding with Corrupt Hotel Owners to Cheat Customers? I am sorry to have to write this review, but I have tried for months to get Booking.com to address my complaint. I have reserved rooms using this service in the past, and have been very pleased. This, however, came to an end this summer. I booked a room at the Travel Inn in Reykjavik, only to find, upon arrival, that my wife, son, and myself were escorted to a car with no explanation. Eventually the clerk told us that we would be driven to the "other" location. The Travel Inn has, it seems, bought space in the Pavi Guesthouse (over a mile away). I would have refused on principle, but I know the situation in Reykjavik is such that I might have had no options. We were driven there, the driver stopped along the way to encourage me to withdraw money from...

Hotel International

Advantages: Location, breakfasts
Disadvantages: Poor rooms

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

sachas hotel

Advantages: good price,great location
Disadvantages: no window

...****Sachas hotel- Manchester**** I booked this hotel last minute as i had a job interview in Manchester and needed somewhere quite cheap ,that was also near the centre. **Location/Getting there** This hotel is located in Tibb street which is a 2 minute walk from Piccadily Gardens or 10 minutes away from Chorlton street bus station. The Train station is a little bit further away say maybe a twenty minute walk but i don't think that this is that bad .You can also get a tram from Piccadily gardens and this goes to quite a few places. You could also get a taxi to the hotel but i am not sure what parking is like if you were to take your own car. **Reception/staff** Since i had never been to Manchester before i phoned and asked the staff for directions -they were very nice and helped me out. When i got there i think i got the same...

ONE FOR THE HOTEL INSPECTOR

Advantages: Location, price & views
Disadvantages: Standard of rooms, maintenance issues, no parking & pretty much no standards

...AND PRICES I went through a few major hotel websites and came across The Claremont Lions, which seemed a reasonable price and sounded like it was well situated and of a good standard compared to the rest of the hotels in Eastbourne. Well the write up made it sound like an amazing standard but having stayed in a lot of hotels I know that's normally nothing to go by. After deciding on the hotel we were going to use I set about getting some comparables and came up with the hotels own website being the most expensive at £80, Lastminute.com at £69 and Hotel pronto at £59 which seemed really reasonable especially as I could get 8% cash back from the cash back website I use. It was simple to book online it took my 2 minutes to complete my details and my payment information. I was then sent an email confirmation and the hotel voucher. Booking online...

Fantastic Hotel

Advantages: Fantastic Food
Disadvantages: Lifts are quite small

...When we decided to make a return trip to Benalmedina we opted to go to the four star Hotel Las Arenas as it was recommended by friends. It is slightly further out just opposite the Castle Bill Bill and when you cross the road it?s a flat walk all the way to the marina which is away from the large hills on which many of the other hotels are located. Reception On arrival check in was swift and at this time we opted to pay for a safety deposit box we were then handed the safe key and card key to room 524 and pointed in the direction of the lifts. On looking round reception it was laid out with tables and chairs and also had a grand piano, a small bar ,toilets and computers with internet access. There is a large board telling you about entertainment available during the day and at night. The whole area was laid out for wheelchair access...
