Advantages: good facilities and not too busy Disadvantages: quite expensive compared to other sports clubs
...Many of my friends live in Kingston and are members of the Esporta gym on the Richmond Road. When they told me that I could get a days free membership trial if I entered my details on their website I jumped at the chance.
The gym is in a good location, approximately three minutes walk from kingston train station. I made good use of my days trial, had a swim in the pool, used the steam room and sauna and afterwards even did a quick gym workout. The swimming pool was very nice and I was suprised how empty it was considering it was the weekend. They had designated swimming lanes in place for those wanting to do a good workout, aswell as plenty of extra pool space for those just wanting to relax.
I was told several times by my friends that there was loads of equipment in the gym and there is, although a number of the machines...
Advantages: nice rooms, great bar and restaurant Disadvantages: quite pricey
...The white hart hotel is situated opposite Kingston bridge on the Hampton wick side of the river. The hotel opened in 2001 and is said to be 'the most attractive hotel in the Kinston area,' although it was only rated three stars by the English regional tourist board. From what I made of the hotel when I stayed there I would rate it at four stars. The rooms are furnished in an old style but to a high standard, there is a lovely secluded courtyard area at the rear of the hotel and there is free parking for guests. The car park is also situated at the rear of the hotel and is barrier operated, so you're car is relatively safe. At the front of the hotel there is a pub and restaurant, which is open daily both to guests and non-guests. These are traditional in style and offer some nice drinks and have an excellent food menu. There is a also...
Advantages: Very friendly and helpful staff. It has a women only gym Disadvantages: So many stairs and no swimming pool
...LA Fitness in KingstonUponThames might be LA Fitness's smallest gym but I think it makes up for that by being such a friendly place with a real sense of community. I have only joined in the past couple of weeks so can only share what I have experienced up to now.
LA Fitness is very accessible. It is easily visible from Kingston Railway Station; as you come out of the station go straight ahead of you and cross the road at the pedestrian crossing. Once you have crossed the road turn to your left and you will see the entrance to the gym a couple of doors past the Somerfield supermarket.
As I walked into the Gym for the first time I was impressed with the friendliness of the girls working in reception. Lisa, the manager was really caring and made me feel so welcome. I had been quite apprehensive about joining a gym because I had...
Advantages: large cinema, night screening, many restaurants Disadvantages: no parking around
...Odeon cinema complex in KingstonUponThames is a favourite destination for families, couples, groups and individuals from all over the area/county. It is one of the biggest cinemas around and it has got a choice of restaurants, bars and 12 screens which makes it easier with choosing from current movies.
The complex is orientated oposite the Kingston train station and its short distance to high street. It is busy area and always buzzing. When you walk in through glass door you can either go upstairs using escalator or lift or downstairs.
The ground floor has a restaurant during the day and bar in the night. I think they have got evening restaurant in separate area from tables when youngsters usually drink before hitting the nightclub Oceana next door.
Lower level has got Bowling and other entertainment with bar and fast food...

Review of Odeon Cinema
Advantages: Ease of use Disadvantages: Ease of losing
.... .
These are 2 gb SD memory cards made by Kingston, SD being short for Secure Digital, and I can't believe there has not been a review already done. I have just tried to get onto their website, but to no avail, will try later.
These cards are a solid state storage system for information, it is as simple as that
The price is competitive, expect to pay up to £16, and you can get them for less from various companies on the internet., Remember this is excluding P&P of course. You can buy them on the high street, but at a higher price. These are often described as the "Postage stamp" size cards. The size is one inch by three quarters, or 19 x 24mm.
You also have the option of going for non-branded merchandise, although I would not advise anything but the original stuff in my own camera. You are then safe in the knowledge that you...
Advantages: Huge place, huge dance floor, good music Disadvantages: Security is OTT, drinks spilled on dancefloor
...This review is about my own experience and opinion of Works in Kingston. I thought I'd try Works again many years after my last visit. I arrived after 11pm when people were queueing up to get in. About 10 minutes later the four guys in front of me were next trying to get into Works. They were all turned away with no apparent reason given by Security. Why on earth the security guy refused entry to these three black guys and one white guy dumbfounded me. There was nothing odd and strange about them, in casual gear, just four guys looking for a night out. Anyway, I was next and was asked to produce some form of ID. I showed him my drivers license and he let me in. They really do relish checking every one out, not excluding some form of discrimination. I was disappointed about this to say the least. Inside there was another security check in...
Advantages: Student Discount 5% Disadvantages: Poor staff training and lacking in curtiousness
...Having worked at the KingstonUpon-Thames store for 3 months, I was in dispare in ways both the customers and the staff were treated. Memebers of staff would run off and hide in the back of the store when faced with something they didn't know about. The manager was one of the most arrogant people I have ever met in my entire life, constatly insulting the staff and customers.
Never the less, he had failed to pay me 2 weeks over time when I finally left that aweful place. I'm still fighting to get it back now.
The products on the other hand, aren't too shabby, but with a product return rate of 20% a week at least, it almost certainly depends on what you buy.
If you're a student don't think about wasting 20 minutes to get a manager to authorise a student discount of 5%. My local chinese takeaway gives 20% discount for students, so why...

Review of Maplin Electronics
Advantages: Great atmosphere, brilliant service and good food Disadvantages: none that i can think of!
...On Monday evening I had an extrmely enjoyable night out and feel I should share my experience with everyone!
I spent the evening in a restuarant called La Tasca in Kingston, an authentic Tapas restuarant. I'm normally a little wary of "authentic" restuarants as they can often end up very cheesy, however I decided to give this one a try. If you are not sure what Tapas is - just imagine lots of small individual dishes of food which you share among your table - its a very enjoyable and social way of eating.
Located on the outskirts of Kingston, the restuarant is a little out of the way - definetly not in the main cluster of resturants in Kingston. However, it is worth the extra journey, as it situated close to the river - allowing romantic after dinner walks!!
The restaurant itself offered an intimate restaurant, with a warm...
Advantages: Very Traditional Disadvantages: Housing is expensive
...I have lived in various locations in my life, I started in Birmingham, left to go to Uni in cardiff and then moved over to Hertfordshire. About 16 years ago we ended up having to move because of my husbands job and we ended up in Thame, we have been here ever since and it is a very friendly place to live.
Where Is It?
Thame (pronounced Tame) is a beautiful small market town located on the Ocfordshire/Buckinghamshire border, near the Chiltern Hills and about 10 minutes drive from the M40 (junction 7 or 8). The town came into being in its current location in the 12th Century and the road from Oxford to Aylesbury was diverted to go through the town. Now there is a ring round so the high street is bustling with activity rather than being full of heavy traffic. The majority of the town centre is made up of ancient buildings...

Review of Thame, Oxfordshire
Advantages: Really good place to relax and raise self esteem as well as get really fit Disadvantages: A bit pricy and minimum one year subscribtion
...I am not a gym goer, or at least i wasn't before. Now I have one of the highest attendances in my gym.
Where is it:
Esporta Kingston is situated in a 3 minute walk from Kinston train station, the bus stop is near by and next to Sainsbury?s. There is a massive car park in front of it. It is pay and display sadly.
How did I join:
I went to get some milk in Sainsbury?s and thought why not check this place out. so I went in and asked how much was the membership. Before I actually got the answer I was shown the whole gym and told all about it.
Next day I joined. My membership is the student one and costs £49 a months. It is a one year contract, direct debit payment. Membership can be frozen if any valid reasons given like broken leg, long holiday or no money to pay. My joining fee was around £80. Plus I got the rest of December...
