...Many of my friends live in Kingston and are members of the Esporta gym on the Richmond Road. When they told me that I could get a days free membership trial if I entered my details on their website I jumped at the chance. The gym is in a good location, approximately three minutes walk from kingston train station. I made good use of my days trial, had a swim in the pool, used the steam room and sauna and afterwards even did a quick gym workout. The swimming pool was very nice and I was suprised how empty it was considering it was the weekend. They had designated swimming lanes in place for those wanting to do a good workout, aswell as plenty of extra pool space for those just wanting to relax. The most attractive hotel in Kingston

Advantages: nice rooms, great bar and restaurant

...The white hart hotel is situated opposite Kingston bridge on the Hampton wick side of the river. The hotel opened in 2001 and is said to be 'the most attractive hotel in the Kinston area,' although it was only rated three stars by the English regional tourist board. From what I made of the hotel when I stayed there I would rate it at four stars. The rooms are furnished in an old style but to a high standard, there is a lovely secluded courtyard area at the rear of the hotel and there is free parking for guests. The car park is also situated at the rear of the hotel and is barrier operated, so you're car is relatively safe. ...LA Fitness in Kingston Upon Thames might be LA Fitness's smallest gym but I think it makes up for that by being such a friendly place with a real sense of community. I have only joined in the past couple of weeks so can only share what I have experienced up to now. LA Fitness is very accessible. It is one of the biggest cinemas around and it has got a choice of restaurants, bars and 12 screens which makes it easier with choosing from current movies. ...This review is about my own experience and opinion of Works in Kingston. I thought I'd try Works again many years after my last visit. I arrived after 11pm when people were queueing up to get in. About 10 minutes later the four guys in front of me were next trying to get into Works. They were all turned away with no apparent reason given by Security. Why on earth the security guy refused entry to these three black guys and one white guy dumbfounded me. There was nothing odd and strange about them, in casual gear, just four guys looking for a night out. Anyway, I was next and was asked to produce some form of ID. ...Having worked at the Kingston Upon-Thames store for 3 months, I was in dispare in ways both the customers and the staff were treated. Memebers of staff would run off and hide in the back of the store when faced with something they didn't know about. The manager was one of the most arrogant people I have ever met in my entire life, constatly insulting the staff and customers. Never the less, he had failed to pay me 2 weeks over time when I finally left that aweful place. I'm still fighting to get it back now. The products on the other hand, aren't too shabby, but with a product return rate of 20% a week at least, it almost certainly depends on what you buy. If you're a student don't think about wasting 20 minutes to get a manager to authorise a student discount of 5%. My local chinese takeaway gives 20% discount for students, so why...

My dream gym

Advantages: Really good place to relax and raise self esteem as well as get really fit

Where is it: Esporta Kingston is situated in a 3 minute walk from Kinston train station, the bus stop is near by and next to Sainsbury?s. There is a massive car park in front of it. It is pay and display sadly. How did I join: I went to get some milk in Sainsbury?s and thought why not check this place out. so I went in and asked how much was the membership. Before I actually got the answer I was shown the whole gym and told all about it. Next day I joined. My membership is the student one and costs £49 a months. It is a one year contract, direct debit payment. Membership can be frozen if any valid reasons given like broken leg, long holiday or no money to pay. My joining fee was around £80.
