...I would suggest that if you need a quick dash to somewhere hot then you could do far worse than Marbella Hotel Corfu. Marbella proudly displays five stars at the end of the drive way, and whilst the rooms and facilities are good I would suggest five stars is a little generous. It is really the rooms which let the place down as they are similar in feel to a good Travel Lodge albeit with air conditioning. We opted for half board which seemed to work out well as there is plenty of food for all tastes - it's buffet style so a large serving area displays the dishes, and guests help themselves to whatever they want. There are lots to choose from, and I'm pleased to say that all of it is good. If you worry about noise at night from clubs / drunk folk having a laugh, then you don't need to worry about it here as the place is very tranquil...

MARBELLA - my dream second home

Advantages: Too many to list, see opinion!
Disadvantages: Having to come home!

Marbella is the name of a district which encompasses several settlements, but also a the name town, and Marbella town is the destination where I have just been for a week?s holiday. The nearest airport is Malaga, and the flying time to Malaga from the UK is approximately 2 ½ hours. Marbella is then less than an hour?s drive away ? around 45 minutes when the traffic is not bad. The weather in Marbella is typical of the Costa del Sol: warm and sunny. During my stay in early July, the temperature reached 38 degrees Celsius.   A taste of Spain

Advantages: Nice weather, pretty cheap
Disadvantages: Almost like being home because of a large Norwegian community

...A short summary My wife Nikki and I went on a trip to Albir right north of Benidorm in Spain in the period August 27th to September 5th 2004. We went together with our friends Olav and Allis and their two kids. ...A pretty cove and a beautiful walk near San José Spain We went on holiday to San José in Almeria Spain this Easter hols. This is a description of one of the best bays/beaches we found and a good coastal walk. We used the tourist hiking map Capo de Gata-Nijar (1:50.000 same scale as an standard OS map here) which we bought from the tourist information in San José, it comes with an accompanying book about the routes marked on the map. It also contained information about camping, apartments and other local information in Spanish. Dearly beloved can read some Spanish and I found I could follow a lot of the instructions fairly simply, you may be able to get an English copy. Barcelona Spain Catalonia

Advantages: Lot to do and see, coastline of beaches, and lots of good shops to the expensive to the cheap.
Disadvantages: metro underground gets busy in the paek seasons, but all places have easy access and are walkable

LOST IN SPAIN...

Advantages: BEAUTIFUL PLACE - UNSPOILED - TRANQUIL - CLIMATE

...Well, I’m writing this on New Years Eve, in the office, but totally bored as none of my customers are in their offices so I can’t phone them to chase them for their missing adverts…*sigh* Anyway, my thoughts turned to holidays, like they do at times like this!! In 2002 I went to Seville, Spain. I have traveled quite a bit but not really in Europe much so I didn’t know what to expect. Seville is a beautiful town – very unspoiled. If you’re looking for the ‘real Spain’ I suggest Seville and we went at an excellent time weatherwise – not too hot or cold. We spent 5 days there in May 2002, at the Hotel San Gil – this is a 4 star hotel, where most of the rooms are suites, sadly we had one of the very few double rooms there. When we first went there, the area was very underdeveloped but in the past two decades major work has occurred which has caused a dramatic improvement in facilities. The weather is generally good all year round although obviously best in the summer months which is when I go.
