Marbella Corfu Hotel
Advantages: Can get a good price on good quality
Disadvantages: probably not a five star hotel
...I would suggest that if you need a quick dash to somewhere hot then you could do far worse than Marbella Hotel Corfu. Marbella proudly displays five stars at the end of the drive way, and whilst the rooms and facilities are good I would suggest five stars is a little generous. It is really the rooms which let the place down as they are similar in feel to a good Travel Lodge albeit with air conditioning. We opted for half board which seemed to work out well as there is plenty of food for all tastes - it's buffet style so a large serving area displays the dishes, and guests help themselves to whatever they want. There are lots to choose from, and I'm pleased to say that all of it is good. If you worry about noise at night from clubs / drunk folk having a laugh, then you don't need to worry about it here as the place is very tranquil...

MARBELLA - my dream second home
Advantages: Too many to list, see opinion!
Disadvantages: Having to come home!
...on the Costa del Sol in Southern Spain. Marbella is the name of a district which encompasses several settlements, but also a the name town, and Marbella town is the destination where I have just been for a week?s holiday. The nearest airport is Malaga, and the flying time to Malaga from the UK is approximately 2 ½ hours. Marbella is then less than an hour?s drive away ? around 45 minutes when the traffic is not bad.
The weather in Marbella is typical of the Costa del Sol: warm and sunny. During my stay in early July, the temperature reached 38 degrees Celsius. A couple of mornings we awoke to find a mist coming in over the sea, but it was still very warm and the mist soon cleared. We were later informed by one of the ?locals? that this sea ?fret? occurs when there has been an Easterly wind, and the weather has been very warm. On a clear day...

A taste of Spain
Advantages: Nice weather, pretty cheap
Disadvantages: Almost like being home because of a large Norwegian community
...A short summary
My wife Nikki and I went on a trip to Albir right north of Benidorm in Spain in the period August 27th to September 5th 2004. We went together with our friends Olav and Allis and their two kids. During our stay we got a chance to drive around a little bit, visit the theme park Terra Mittica, the water park Aqualandia, drink some good Spanish red wine etc. I hope that this short trip report can be of some use to others that are going to the same destination. Get in touch if you have any questions or comments :-) Please check my homepage http://gardkarlsen.com if you want to see more pictures from the trip.
Prelude
When I was young I remember that we had some family friends that were going on vacation to Spain. At that time it seemed so exotic at least compared to our road trips around Norway. Well, over the years...

A beautifull walk near San Jose Spain
Advantages: Beautiful
Disadvantages: you really need a car
...A pretty cove and a beautiful walk near San José Spain
We went on holiday to San José in Almeria Spain this Easter hols. This is a description of one of the best bays/beaches we found and a good coastal walk.
We used the tourist hiking map Capo de Gata-Nijar (1:50.000 same scale as an standard OS map here) which we bought from the tourist information in San José, it comes with an accompanying book about the routes marked on the map. It also contained information about camping, apartments and other local information in Spanish. Dearly beloved can read some Spanish and I found I could follow a lot of the instructions fairly simply, you may be able to get an English copy. I will check this out .We found this a very good map and guide I would certainly recommend it.
One morning we set out in our hire car, with a loaf of bread, some...

Barcelona Spain Catalonia
Advantages: Lot to do and see, coastline of beaches, and lots of good shops to the expensive to the cheap.
Disadvantages: metro underground gets busy in the paek seasons, but all places have easy access and are walkable
...Barcelona? Why Not ?
One of the most beautiful cities in Europe
Barcelona Spain is one of the biggest influences that has ever been met, there is everything that you could desire there, from a walk to the park to the beaches to the night life the Music festivals, the Tapas, the coast and the shops, it is endless, Barcelona is a place of opportunity with its beautiful buildings and history, a short stay would never be enough to cover all there are numbers of attractions, The main street La Rambla is amazing with its flower stalls which give the la rambla a gorgeous array of color and .flavor There are pet stalls with baby rabbits, turtles , terrapins, birds and all childrens furry friends, with souvenir store's and high street shops on the road side restaurants are also on the la rambla where you can sit and watch all...

LOST IN SPAIN...
Advantages: BEAUTIFUL PLACE - UNSPOILED - TRANQUIL - CLIMATE
Disadvantages: SOMETIMES UNKEPT - NEEDS A BIT OF GOVERNMENT MONEY SPENDING ON IT!
...Well, I’m writing this on New Years Eve, in the office, but totally bored as none of my customers are in their offices so I can’t phone them to chase them for their missing adverts…*sigh*
Anyway, my thoughts turned to holidays, like they do at times like this!!
In 2002 I went to Seville, Spain. I have traveled quite a bit but not really in Europe much so I didn’t know what to expect. Seville is a beautiful town – very unspoiled. If you’re looking for the ‘real Spain’ I suggest Seville and we went at an excellent time weatherwise – not too hot or cold.
We spent 5 days there in May 2002, at the Hotel San Gil – this is a 4 star hotel, where most of the rooms are suites, sadly we had one of the very few double rooms there.
They serve breakfast and ‘bar snacks...

WHAT A VENTURA IN SPAIN !! (Hopefully in the right place now!!)
Advantages: Endless, a wonderfulexperience for all ages.
Disadvantages: A little hilly if you are bad on your feet

PORT AVENTURA THEME PARK
After much nagging and begging we eventually gave in to our twelve year old son to take him to Port Aventura theme park, near Salou in Spain last October.
We were staying in one of the parks hotel's but this review will be purely for the Park itself as I feel that the hotels are worthy of a review in their own right.
So this review will be for the benefit of people wanting to know of the pros and cons of Port Aventura Theme Park - this review is written from an older person's perspective ( I was an old mum when I had Jack, I was aged 45 - my husband is nine years older...

LEAVE THE RAIN 4 SUNSHINE IN SPAIN
Advantages: Climate ... Pretty cheap ...Breathtaking places
Disadvantages: Can get very hot in peak season & high traffic congestion
...Alicante (Spain) is like my second home , although I have recently bought an apartment in Guardamar Del Segura (Alicante), thirty minutes drive from Alicante city . I have been visiting this part of Southern Spain for more than twenty years. During my twenty year visit , I have seen Alicante & its surrounding towns turn from shabby non-existent places into bustling and vibrant resorts. Anybody visiting Alicante & its surrounding resorts today , would not believe the dramatic changes that have taken place over the last 20 years or so. The scale of growth & expansion in the Alicante province is truly amazing - it no longer plays second fiddle to cities such as Barcelona & Madrid. This beautiful city & its neighbouring resorts all of which lie on the Costa Blanca coastline are growing not only in size but in popularity. So much so , that...

Marbella : Playboys Haven
Advantages: Hot in summer, Not overly expensive
Disadvantages: Peak season is now packed
...I have owned a villa in Marbella for the past 18 years and go there every year with my two children. When we first went there, the area was very underdeveloped but in the past two decades major work has occurred which has caused a dramatic improvement in facilities. The weather is generally good all year round although obviously best in the summer months which is when I go. This has led to the introduction of watersports and other outdoor activities being improved in the area such as water parks, the port and shark-fishing. The port, known as Puerto Banus, has become a playground for the rich with arab oil sheikhs and princes mooring their ocean liners there. Also, many famous people can be seen cruising around in their flash sports cars posing and waving for the many paparazzi that frequent the area. Along the main road, next to a very...

Live like Sultans in the Mary Celeste!
Advantages: Very comfortable base.
Disadvantages: Too quiet and facilities not available.
...Just a short walk from the beach and the famous "Golden Mile" in Marbella, this apartment hotel which opened in 1997 is on a road called Avenida Arturo Rubenstein. Luxurious apartment blocks line the road, and within a short distance are two very upmarket supermarkets if you want to buy food and drink!
Designed to make you feel you are living in the luxury that the sultans enjoyed in years gone by, there are fountains and tropical plants, beautiful tiles and a feeling of luxury.
There are 76 apartments, which are one or two bed roomed with a large comfortable lounge with dining area and large balconies with furniture. There is daily maid service with frequent bed linen change and daily change of towels.
One bedroom apartment
