Transport.
--------------------------------
If you do not have a car or do not want to take it out whilst in Newport, there are great alternative transports available in Newport for you. Newport offers a great bus service with many buses running as regular as every ten to twenty minutes. There are free bus services also available for the major supermarkets from the main bus station and certain areas which is also great as many of the supermarkets are located in large retail parks with lots of other major retail stores for you to visit whilst there. Five minutes walk from the bus station is Newport's train station, which offers a very regular service to all the major cities and towns. Located within the car park of the train station is one of Newport's largest...

Review of Newport in General
...The smallest American state of Rhode Island only has 3 main towns (Newport Providence and Middletown) but Newport is most definitely my favourite.
On our first visit to an American town we usually head straight to the visitor centre which are a mine of information. Unfortunately I was initially put off Newport because their visitor centre is in a run down area on the outskirts of the town. However I’m pleased that we continued on as the town is fascinating. Newport is at the southern tip of an island and is surrounded by water. There is a beautiful harbor area, which is also home to a shopping area and some rather pricey restaurants.
The preservation society of Newport maintains eight historic homes, which are open to the public. Most of them are situated along Ocean Drive (i.e. millionaire’s row!) and each appeared...

Review of Newport
...Croeso yr Casnewydd, or Welcome to Newport, my hometown.
While I was thinking of this review, I felt an introduction to the historic city of Newport was in order. History shapes a town, Newport has only recently been granted city status, and so I will call it a town. All around this part of South Wales is steeped in history, but I immediately came upon a stumbling block. I thought I knew my town well, but it?s only authentic history starts less than 1000 years ago.
Whether from indifference or lost documentation, little is known of the town?s origins.
Abergavenny, some twenty miles from Newport, once housed a huge library in its castle, but sieges left the castle and it?s contents burnt down, around the time of Oliver Cromwell.
Geoffrey of Monmouth (1100 to 1154) was the main chronicler off the age, but his written works were...

Review of Newport in General
Advantages: Stunning scenery, good craic, not touristy Disadvantages: Slightly inaccessible
...?ll eventually find yourself on the edge of 2000 ft cliff face peering down at crashing waves ? not for the faint hearted!
EAT FRESHLY CAUGHT FISH & CHIPS AT KILLYBEGS: This is the busiest fishing port in Ireland, and every day tons of freshly caught fish are hauled onto the quayside. Killybegs has charming narrow streets and whitewashed buildings perched high above the harbour. Good spots to eat fish and chips are: Molly?s Café (a local institution by the harbour); the Galley Restauraunt; and the Harbour Bar.
PARTY THE NIGHT AWAY IN LETTERKENNY: The largest town in County Donegal, Letterkenny is a wee bit ugly by day. But at nighttime, get ready to hit the town! There are plenty of pubs and bars ? perfect for those of you who like pub-crawling (crawling being the key word here!)
AND YOU?LL BE LUCKY TO MAKE IT TO TORY ISLAND: Totally...
Advantages: Funny in places Disadvantages: Not Funny throughout
..."He Sees dead people?and they annoy him"
Bertam Pincus is a dentist. During an operation he "dies" for seven minutes but then comes back to life with the ability to see ghosts. You'd think that it would be pretty cool to see ghosts and be able to talk to them when no one else could see or talk to them. Although Pincus isn't too happy with his 'new-found-talent' ; watch Ghost Town to find out why!
I'd read "quick" reviews about Ghost Town in various magazine and although I had a rough idea of what the movie was about , it wasn't a movie that I was planning on going to see at the cinema. It wasn't until I watched an episode of Friday Night With Jonathon Ross a few weeks back, where Ricky Gervais was a guest and promoting his new film , that I decided I wanted to see this film. It was the clip of the 'dog scene' that got me going! I...

Review of Ghost Town (DVD)
...cannot afford newer cars, the roads are dust tracks and electricity is seen as modern accessory for the idle rich. The pattern is repeated all over the country.
6. There is no town drunk
While the media constantly create loveable town drunkards, similar to the English concept of the village idiot, this is clearly an unreal concept as everyone is always drunk anyway.
7. The North
Northern Ireland is a war-torn state permanently shrouded in violence. Did you see the pictures of the road blockades and riots in the summer? Well these were being reported for their strangely peaceful nature. The reality is much more shocking. Only the other day Paddy Wackery, the leader of a well known terrorist group shot down two old age pensioners who "looked like they were up for a duel". Under the prisoner release scheme, he is due out next Wednesday...

Review of Dublin (Ireland)
Advantages: Great Fun and strong messages being sent to kids. Disadvantages: None
...For anyone that has kids would know about Lazy town and for anyone that does not have kids think your self's very lucky. The new kids show that has lively music that also is annoying and sticks in your head for days. You can't watch a show without singing to at least one song.
Though the best thing about this kids show is that it helps towards eating healthy and bans junk food.
Lazy Town
Well for anyone that does not know by now here is a quick recap about the show and about the characters.
Lazy Town.
For me this has to be one of the best shows that my kids watch. I like the fact that they are promoting healthy eating and getting active. Though don't except your kids to start eating fruit and veg immediately. My son does not and has not done since he was weaned. Though he has got a tad...
Advantages: A lovely historic City Disadvantages: Little to do
...So , I'm mad at life in general and need to vent .
I have chosen a topic well removed from the real source of my present dire state of mind in order to put the argument fairly and in a considered and slightly detached manner .
I think this only fair to anyone who chooses to read .
My home town of Lincoln was always a quiet place ?? City in name only , as its streets were relatively safe and peaceful , rather behind the times .
We were a little removed from the rest of the country , being a conservative Cathedral city in a backwater county of mostly rural landscapes and outlying remote villages .
The uphill area is stunning , narrow cobbled streets and little boutique style shops ( with prices to match , a bit of a tourist trap ! ) .
Atop the hill sits the 9th century cathedral , magnificently ornate and visible for miles...

...Bank of Ireland
I have been a customer of bank of Ireland for some time now, and I have to admit I have never had any problems with the service.
I have a basic saving account and a credit card with this bank - and I have been a loyal customer every since.
I opened an account when I was 17, and they were very helpful as I had no ID, so they worked hard with me to get a way of opening an account for me, which I appreciated very much. This account is not a card account, just a savings account - meaning I had to physically go into a bank branch to withdraw or deposit money. I didn't mind as they had 3 branches in my area, which is very handy.
I then became a student and was offered a student credit card with all these brilliant deals, so in fell into the trap unfortunately, and now I owe them 800 quid .
That's one thing...

Review of Bank of Ireland
Advantages: Very peaceful, gorgeous scenary, unspoilt landscape. Disadvantages: Can be very cold/windy, not much in the line of 'shopping' except gift shops
...Being from Clare myself, it is an absolute pleasure to be able to tell you all about this wild, harsh but absolutly beautiful place in the North of the 'Banner County', in South West Ireland.
The Burren comes from the Irish/Gaelic word Boireann, which means stony place, and is a massive area of hugh limestone pavements covering a vast plain of land, said to be about 300 sq. kilometres. It stretches for miles and miles, through valleys, up mountains and hills, and alongside rivers and streams.
It features some of the rarest flora and fauna in the whole country, a spray of colour against the harsh, grey landscape. It offers absolute peace, a type of spiritual tranquility that you just want more of. You can stand in the middle of this land, and breath in all the fresh air you can take, and you may not see a single person for miles...
