Advantages: Close to centre, clean room, great staff, near great shops, cheap and clean! Disadvantages: no view, alley way smells, people pee in alley way, noisy.
...After reading some very dodgy things about this hotel I made sure that my travel agent booked us a double room with a jacuzi bath (these are the biggest rooms that they have) and that was also away from the lift (hardly ever used to be fair).
The hotel is a tad hard to find (but if you get the airport bus it drops you off at Universitat which is near the hotel). Please make sure that you do your reaserch into the location and print yourself off a map! We did still get lost and asked some very nice guys handing out flyers where it was!
When you get there it does look like a hostel. It is next to an alley (I will talk about this later!) and you have to buzz to be let it (a great idea I feel!) The staff are SO nice and friendly and speak great English (compared to my lousy Catalonian!). They will give you directions, metro, train...
Advantages: Cheaper than city, clean and tidy, Disadvantages: location, language
...I went to visit spain in april 2008 for my birthday and stayed at hotel praga for 3 days. It is located out of the centre but not too far away, there is a metro station 5 min from the hotel which is great and easy to use, the same as the one in london if that makes it easier for you. its 1 euro for a one way ticket, the down side is the staff dont exactly speak alot of english, which can be tricky at busy times of the day.We got a taxi from the airport which cost about 27-28 euro, easy to check in and all they require is your passport and a credit card. The rooms were very clean and tidy with towels being changed all the time. It had good room service and a mini bar which wasnt that expensive, it had a marble bathroom and good space for clothes and other stuff. It had a nice big bar area downstairs, but for the area it was in there wasnt...

Review of Hotel Praga, Madrid
Advantages: great bars and tourist attractions Disadvantages: too hot in summer
...Seville is set in the heart of Andaluicia, in the south of Spain.
At first glance, it is filled with the usual touristy shops and attractions, but there is a lot more to it. The residents are are really laid-back. Like clockwork, the city shuts down every afternoon, for a long siesta. People gather in the Plazas for a bit of drinking and partying before catching a couple of hours sleep before the evening hits in. Shops stay open until 9pm-10pm. As everything has is relatively cheap, compared to the UK, you can really induldge in retail therapy.
Nightlife:
Seville is filled with fantastic bars, where you can grab some tapas, soak up some live spanish music, and meet the locals.
Nightclubs are a little on the chessy side - expect to see a lot of salsa.... To see Seville at its best, its worth sticking just to bars. There are...

Review of Sevilla (Spain)
Advantages: Orange taste is nice. Disadvantages: Combination of flavours doesn't work. Poor quality chocolate and lack of smell.
...Wandering round my local discount shop as I tend do in the day before paydays bout of poverty I come across the Kit Kat Seville Edition. I have never been a big fan of Nestle chocolate and tend to find it all a little bit sickly sweet but the Kit Kat Seville edition promised, "An explosion of flavour in every bite". A heady claim methinks but a picture of oranges and the inside of a chocolate covered wafer oozing with caramelised orange swayed me (that and the fact it was twenty pence rather than thirty-five).
Wrapped it looks like an orange Kit Kat Chunky and is around the same size. As I peel open the wrapper I reveal a slab of chocolate that looks precisely like a Kit Kat Chunky, thick and brick like but generously sized. I am disappointed at a complete lack of smell. Considering the claims of flavour explosions I was...
Advantages: cheap Disadvantages: full of big groups of students
...I went to this hotel on the 27th march 2007 for 4 nights we stayed all inclusive, there was a small group of us with one child aged 5. I read alot of reviews about this hotel most of them very bad but it was better than expected.
The room was clean and beds and towels changed daily, the hotel seemed clean too.
I had heard bad things about the lifts but they were very good and looked new and clean i had planned on not using them as i am quite scared of them but since we were on the 5th floor we used them alot and never had any problems.
The food was as expected bread, salad and then a few hot dishes no worse than i would expect at all inclusive hotels, it was changed regular so did not get cold food.
Drinks were fairly good choice had to use plastic cups but think you do in most all inclusive. The entertainment was not any good...
Advantages: extensive database of hotels, many quite inexpensive Disadvantages: if a hotel cheats you, they will apologize, but do nothing.
...Booking.com: Colluding with Corrupt Hotel Owners to Cheat Customers?
I am sorry to have to write this review, but I have tried for months to get Booking.com to address my complaint. I have reserved rooms using this service in the past, and have been very pleased. This, however, came to an end this summer.
I booked a room at the Travel Inn in Reykjavik, only to find, upon arrival, that my wife, son, and myself were escorted to a car with no explanation. Eventually the clerk told us that we would be driven to the "other" location. The Travel Inn has, it seems, bought space in the Pavi Guesthouse (over a mile away). I would have refused on principle, but I know the situation in Reykjavik is such that I might have had no options. We were driven there, the driver stopped along the way to encourage me to withdraw money from...

Review of Booking.com
Advantages: BEAUTIFUL PLACE - UNSPOILED - TRANQUIL - CLIMATE Disadvantages: SOMETIMES UNKEPT - NEEDS A BIT OF GOVERNMENT MONEY SPENDING ON IT!
...Well, I’m writing this on New Years Eve, in the office, but totally bored as none of my customers are in their offices so I can’t phone them to chase them for their missing adverts…*sigh*
Anyway, my thoughts turned to holidays, like they do at times like this!!
In 2002 I went to Seville, Spain. I have traveled quite a bit but not really in Europe much so I didn’t know what to expect. Seville is a beautiful town – very unspoiled. If you’re looking for the ‘real Spain’ I suggest Seville and we went at an excellent time weatherwise – not too hot or cold.
We spent 5 days there in May 2002, at the Hotel San Gil – this is a 4 star hotel, where most of the rooms are suites, sadly we had one of the very few double rooms there.
They serve breakfast and ‘bar snacks...

Advantages: Vibrant, lively, colourful, energetic, traditional dancing, friendly Disadvantages: Stays open to 7am! Party party party! (sore head in the morning!)
...economic and social power are exhibited. Ending at the beginning of the afternoon and the carriages make their way to the bullring, the Real Maestranza where the best bullfighters and breeders meet. At night, the fairgrounds start - lots of bright lights and festivitity.
The streets are then lit up with rows of lights - utterly amazing!

Review of Sevilla (Spain)
Advantages: Nice weather, pretty cheap Disadvantages: Almost like being home because of a large Norwegian community
...A short summary
My wife Nikki and I went on a trip to Albir right north of Benidorm in Spain in the period August 27th to September 5th 2004. We went together with our friends Olav and Allis and their two kids. During our stay we got a chance to drive around a little bit, visit the theme park Terra Mittica, the water park Aqualandia, drink some good Spanish red wine etc. I hope that this short trip report can be of some use to others that are going to the same destination. Get in touch if you have any questions or comments :-) Please check my homepage http://gardkarlsen.com if you want to see more pictures from the trip.
Prelude
When I was young I remember that we had some family friends that were going on vacation to Spain. At that time it seemed so exotic at least compared to our road trips around Norway. Well, over the years...
Advantages: Beautiful Disadvantages: you really need a car
...A pretty cove and a beautiful walk near San José Spain
We went on holiday to San José in Almeria Spain this Easter hols. This is a description of one of the best bays/beaches we found and a good coastal walk.
We used the tourist hiking map Capo de Gata-Nijar (1:50.000 same scale as an standard OS map here) which we bought from the tourist information in San José, it comes with an accompanying book about the routes marked on the map. It also contained information about camping, apartments and other local information in Spanish. Dearly beloved can read some Spanish and I found I could follow a lot of the instructions fairly simply, you may be able to get an English copy. I will check this out .We found this a very good map and guide I would certainly recommend it.
One morning we set out in our hire car, with a loaf of bread, some...
