Toledo, history preserved, hill top heritage
Advantages: Historic, beautiful scenery, feel good place
Disadvantages: None
...A visit to Toledo is memorable for so many different reasons. Other visitors' reactions are most likely similar to mine - so much history, beautiful to walk through while experiencing how preservation of religion has affected architecture in this magnificent Spanish National Monument.
One day recently I joined thousands of other tourists to stroll through the narrow, steep, cobbled streets to glimpse just a little taste of how Toldeo has evolved since it was Spain's capital from Gothic days to 1560.
From the minute I sighted the main gate - Peurta de Bisgra, a ninth century creation - I knew this visit was going to be all it was promised to be by a dear friend who had been there six years earlier and advised, quite rightly, that it was a must when visiting Madrid, 71 kilometres away.
The focus of my visit was to be...

Toledo, the nearest thing to time-travel
Advantages: Important cultural and historical centre
Disadvantages: Can be busy in the tourist season
...surprised on going in to the restaurant to see the large number of Spaniards queuing up for their burgers and fries. For me one of the joys of going to Spain is to get away from fast food! Toledo is full of cafes and restaurants of course and for those who would prefer a more relaxing lunch, why not sit in one of the many courtyard cafes and have an ice-cold beer and a tortilla with salad?
Up the road from the city square is the Alcazar, a huge military building now partly a museum. I didn’t go in there due to lack of time, but went on to the Great Cathedral, which is commonly acknowledged to be one of the finest Gothic cathedrals in the world. It is almost breath-taking in its size and beauty and an essential part of any visit. In particular, you must look at “El Transparente”, which is like a huge hole opened up in...

A Fascinating Mixture of Medieval Cultures
Advantages: A location rich with statiscal, geographical and historical enironment
Disadvantages: Can be quiet boring and no nightlife
...Spain within itself holds lot history, colabrating many different cultures. After my visit i managed to do bit of research about this location, which i have explained below.
In the centre of the Iberian Peninsula, lies a granite hill surround on three sides by the Tagus River. Over the centuries the river has carved out cliffs that protect the hills flanks. On this strategic outcrop arose Toledo, a city that has become synonymous with Spain and its culture.
Today, the narrow, winding streets of old Toledo transport the visitor back to the Middle Ages. The city gates, castles and bridges all maintain their medieval flavour and bear silent witness to the days when Toledo was one of the most important cities of Europe. Toledo, however, is not a typical European city. Even the railway station has an oriental air. A closer look at Toledo?s...

Rangemaster toledo 110 cooker
Advantages: Looks really smart and efficient
Disadvantages: None that spring to mind
...We bought a rangemaster toledo 110 cooker for our new kitchen earlier this year.
We decided on the colour of silver rather than stainless steal as this is easier to clean and wipe.
The double oven is brilliant and practical. One is fan assisted so is really fast the other is just conventional. They are both large and can easily cook Christmas dinner for a family of 14. Both have large windows on the doors which is brilliant for checking on foods. Built in oven lights too.
It also has a separate built in grill. If you need to grill something small you just switch on half the grill - how cool is that?
The built in hob on top is lovely. We have electric so naturally have a ceramic hob. This too is easy to clean. There are 6 halogen rings. Two of which you can half on or full on.
Beware of scratches though on the g;ass hob.
All in all...

1999 T - Seat Toledo 1.9Tdi S
Advantages: Speed, Comfort, Reliaility, Quality, Economy, Features, Looks
Disadvantages: Door seals sometimes need replacing
...I bought my Toledo TDi back in early 2004, it had 38k miles on the clock and was in very good condition. This is her story.....
From the moment I set eyes on her I was impressed, sleek, curvacious and to some extent, sporty looking were my first impressions. I'd never taken any notice of seats before then apart from the Ibiza I learned to drive in so I'd not really looked at buying one. I saw her for sale at a local garage and thought i'd take a closer look. My partner at the time and I were expecting our first child, at the time I was driving a Rover 220SD and although it had 5 doors, it wasn't the roomiest car I'd been in.
So, I climbed in and instantly it struck me. Everything was laid out where you would expect, no silly dials in the centre of the dashboard, no funny looking buttons that had no purpose. This was...

A taste of Spain
Advantages: Nice weather, pretty cheap
Disadvantages: Almost like being home because of a large Norwegian community
...A short summary
My wife Nikki and I went on a trip to Albir right north of Benidorm in Spain in the period August 27th to September 5th 2004. We went together with our friends Olav and Allis and their two kids. During our stay we got a chance to drive around a little bit, visit the theme park Terra Mittica, the water park Aqualandia, drink some good Spanish red wine etc. I hope that this short trip report can be of some use to others that are going to the same destination. Get in touch if you have any questions or comments :-) Please check my homepage http://gardkarlsen.com if you want to see more pictures from the trip.
Prelude
When I was young I remember that we had some family friends that were going on vacation to Spain. At that time it seemed so exotic at least compared to our road trips around Norway. Well, over the years...

A beautifull walk near San Jose Spain
Advantages: Beautiful
Disadvantages: you really need a car
...A pretty cove and a beautiful walk near San José Spain
We went on holiday to San José in Almeria Spain this Easter hols. This is a description of one of the best bays/beaches we found and a good coastal walk.
We used the tourist hiking map Capo de Gata-Nijar (1:50.000 same scale as an standard OS map here) which we bought from the tourist information in San José, it comes with an accompanying book about the routes marked on the map. It also contained information about camping, apartments and other local information in Spanish. Dearly beloved can read some Spanish and I found I could follow a lot of the instructions fairly simply, you may be able to get an English copy. I will check this out .We found this a very good map and guide I would certainly recommend it.
One morning we set out in our hire car, with a loaf of bread, some...

I Love my 2005 Toledo automatic TDi
Advantages: Fast, reliable, smart looking,
Disadvantages: Tyres/wheels are not the best at gripping the road, power outlet is not in a very good place
...History
We have had our Toledo for 4 months now and upgraded from a 2Ltr petrol Ford Focus. The toledo exceeds all aspects of the focus in both looks, feel and performance. The Toledo is a solidly built car and very robust, you can see at a glance that the safety features are in abundance from the airbags allround to the solid reinforced pillars and high lefel doors.
Reliability/speed
We have found the Toledo to be exceptionally reliable and ready to go when we are. The Toledo is really fast and will get upto speed really fast. Accelaration is fast and makes you sit back as you press the pedal.
Access to the interior
The doors are a bit of a pain but this is also a safety feature. Once you start going the doors automatically lock and so if you stop and want to get out it is not as easy however, it does mean that if you...

Advantages: Lot to do and see, coastline of beaches, and lots of good shops to the expensive to the cheap.

Russell Hobbs Toledo Kettle
Advantages: 3KW Rapid boiling system, soft touch rubber grip, stylish/modern
Disadvantages: RRP £30 a bit pricey
...What can i say for this product? Well for a start i can say it has a fantastic modern and sleek look, definitley unique in its design with its aluminium casing and soft touch rubber grip handle in silver. This is an item that would suit most kitchens out there today. I bought this toledo kettle for my mum for just £14.75p off bid-up.tv what a bargin considering the brand Russell Hobbs, a brand that anyone can trust that delivers quality and reliablility. This unique kettle is also cordless so ur not limited to were you can bring it once it has used its rapid boiing system. To add to all that the Toledo kettle has nice blue neon power light at the bottom and a 360 degress swivel base for added simplicity. All in all a a good stylish product that will last for years in anyones home....
