I signed up with SearchCactus.com several months ago. This US-based site pays you for searching at a rate of US$0.02 per search. You are, however, limited to a maximum of 20 unique searches per day, which means your maximum possible daily earnings would be US$0.40 cents or in a month you might make as much as US$12.You would have to be surfing a great deal to even reach this figure. Clearly then this is no easy freeway to a fortune.Still if you have to surf a lot,it is nice to get a financial reward,even if it quite small in magnitude.
I have used this search engine quite extensively and do not agree with some of the other reviewers that the results returned are poor. It uses Google for some searches and we all know what a fine search engine that is. So far I have found the results for most searches to be quite satisfactory; I have no complaints on that score.
It is quick and is a very colourful site with plenty of green. The clarity is good and once you have signed in you don't have to keep on signing in again.
The results of the searches are well presented and there are no advertisements,which I find to be an irritant on some other sites.
As regards earnings there is currently a US$2 signing up payment and I am assuming that they will pay members who live outside North America although I have heard rumours that this may not be so. Certainly some other reviewers on Ciao.have concluded they do not.
Some writer friends in the US tell me they have been paid promptly and I have read a number of good reviews on this search engine by US-based writers. If, however, they do not pay non- US or Canadian members it is highly probable I will leave the site and use Google or Alta Vista for most of my searches.
Advantages: None unless you are in the USA or Canada Disadvantages: Loss of earnings, no consideration for members outside USA and Canada
I have been using Search Cactus for 3 months, using their paid for search facility. Indeed I received my first cheque from them a couple of weeks back.
So this month I carried on using their program and on the 28th September I go to access their program and get a page telling me that they are no longer paying International members.
There was no notice given about this, I had earned just under the minimum payment so will probably not receive any ...

Search Cactus is a company that pays you for every search you make. I forget how much, because after briefly trying the service I’m not going to be going back. I made one search, just one and then every other search I made came up with exactly the same results as my first search. I wasn’t even searching for remotely connected sites. This sounds a great idea but it may not be as great as you think and here is why . You do get $2 for joining this is good and the theory that you get paid for visiting sites from a search engine is good but you only get paid $0.02 for every site you visit , you have to stay on the page of the advertiser for 20 seconds and you can only get paid for a maximum of 20 SITES a day , so work it out thats $0.40 maximum a day . Of course only selected sites ... ...will probably visit the same site many times and have no interest in their products . This is a good idea but you aint gonna get rich quick this way. As of 28 september International users will not ge paid any cash , I am a member so I am not best pleased so steer clear of this site. ...

I have seen and tried many search engines, but I found one that I could use and earn money at the same time. Search Cactus pays members $2.00 to sign up. Everytime a member logs in and does searches using the Search Cactus directory/search engine, they earn money.
