I am currently embarking on a program of natural vision improvement (search on the internet for The Bates Method / Vision Therapy if you're interested). I've bought myself a few books and read lots of websites which suggested going without glasses. The prescription I began with was for -5.00D ... Read review
Advantages: The Price and the free extra's Disadvantages: sometimes there could be a delay
I bought a pair of sunglasses a few months ago, they cost me £35, I could have got the frames else where for a similar price but would have had to get the persciption lenses made up. having a stong perscription and eye problems at the moment it was costing me a fortune doing this so I tried selectspecs. The specs came from Hong Kong which is slightly different from where the web site said but I didn't mind. Espically when you look at one thing, these ... ...are the same disign as a pair from Rudy Project (£200) but only cost £35.
They arrived in 20 days from the order and are very good, so good infact that now my perscription has changed again after the opperation I have ordered another pair from them. Just think of what they give you for free, getting the same from any other web site or the high street will cost upto £150.
I believe if you can get your glasses from anywhere and the price is just ...

Advantages: none Disadvantages: everything about them is a disadvantage
I ordered some specs from Selectspecs.com after having them recommended by Martin Lewis money saving expert (how ironic!) way back in June 09. First attempt, they didn't arrive, second attempt, they still didn't arrive!! They sent ame tracking number which eventually said the parcael had been delivered to an uknown address...funny how I have everything else delivered to the same address and it arrives no problem! Sent many many many emails back and ... ...out a phone number on all of their emails then when you call say they can't offer telephone support. They then said I couldn't have a refund as it was a tailored item...of course it was, they were my prescription glasses!
They took my money before the item had even been dispatched....would NEVER buy from them again and would NEVER recommend anyone else to do so. ...

Advantages: Good selection of frames, great price saving, good quality. Disadvantages: Have to do any final fitting adjustments yourself; possible slightly longer wait.
I ordered rear surface varifocals a few weeks ago from this site. I have to admit being nervous about it, but it was the only way I was going to get new prescription glasses at a price I could afford, so decided to give them a try. Am I glad I did! They took a little longer than usual (about 3 weeks) to make my glasses as they had had a higher than usual number of orders due to some special deals they were offering. I received an email on Friday ... ...and received them on, Monday 22/6! Incredibly fast shipping! The frames are great and the lenses- I have a slightly more complicated than normal prescription, including astigmatism - are perfect! I haver saved well over £200 when compared to my usual optician! My last glasses cost me £230 just to reglaze my old frames a year ago; the lenses were the cheaper, thicker type, and I was never entirely happy with the prescription. When I got my eyes tested ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Fraudsters, took my payment, provided fake tracking number, never sent the order.
I ordered a pair of specs from this website a month ago. The website leads you to believe the specs are coming from the UK but a week after paying, I was told they would be posted from HongKong!! When I ordered, I paid for insured & registered post - I still haven't received anything from SelectSpecs (apart from a FAKE tracking number!) and they are now ignoring all forms of contact.
My advice to anyone who reads this would be to stay well clear ... ...a week later tell you that your order has been shipped and provide a FAKE tracking number. There's nothing you can do *********************!
Unfortunately, there's no way to be sure the positive reviews of this company haven't been written by themselves. ***************************************
If you have fallen into ***********************, remember you can file a chargeback and to try reclaim your payment if you paid by credit card. If you paid ...

Advantages: Fantastic prices, great selection of frames Disadvantages: You can't try them on like you can on the high street
I ordered two pairs of glasses from selectspec for only £33! I received my glasses exactly two weeks later. I am absolutely delighted with them. This is the second time I have order from selectspecs and been amazed at the speed of delivery and also the quality. I would highly recommend this company. The only disadvantages I can think of is that you can't try them on like you can in a shop so you do have to take a bit of a gamble buying online. My ...
