I worked in an office over the summer. A co-worker walked by when I was clicking on the links in emails sent by sendmoreinfo and said, "Wow, this must have been created for people who are bored in the office." Yes, exactly. Any of these Internet money-making schemes should be used only by people who have time to kill, since they will not pay off financially.
SendMoreInfo.com is a company that will pay you to receive junk email. I get so much junk on my hotmail account anyway, that I figured I might as well get paid for some of it. Th emails that you get paid for from sendmoreinfo.com are very clearly labeled so you won't accidentally delete them.
--HOW TO GET THEM TO SEND YOU EMAIL--
I have read a few reviews from people who say that they receive very few emails from this site. I had this problem when I first signed up, but then I realised that I had told them the TRUTH about what I am interested in. The way this site works is that you check off up to 20 of your areas of interest and they send you emails that relate to your hobbies. Even if you love Tai Bo or archery (two other options), don't tell that to the powers that be at SendMoreInfo becuause it would just be wasting your 20 choices.
So, now that I told them I am interested in "debt consolidation" and other boring things, I get more emails. I used to get one per week and now I get at least three per day.
--TIME--
I had endless time to kill at work so this wasn't really an issue for me. But for those of you with slow Internet connections or limited online time, or if you are not trapped in an office for eight hours a day and can actually go out and have fun... this is something to consider. Fortunately, this service does not use much time at all. You open the email and click on a link under the words, "to get paid for this email, click here." It opens a new window, which I just ignore until it finishes loading and then close. It never sends me any emails about things that I am actually interested in! So, it takes less than 30 seconds a day in total.
--NOW FOR THE BAD NEWS--
In the beginning... you could get 5 cents (USD) for each email that you "read." Nowadays, they don't make their rate clear. It seems to be around 1/2 cent, which is obviously very low. Their slogan is "A penny earned is a penny saved," which gives you an idea of how small the payout is. But, if you can get other people to sign up for it, you get a percentage of however much they make, as well. If you want to sign up for this, you can click on the link on my "All about me" page.
But I figure, slowly and steadily (very slowly!) I might eventually accumulate enough emails to make it to the $10 minimum and they'll send me a cheque. So far, I am up to $9.75 or something pitiful like that after two whole years!
--OTHER INFO--
Make sure not to tick the box that says you'd like to receive "other, non-paid emails." As if I would voluntarily get more junk for free! Puh-lease!
Also, you can sign up for long distance through this site and they'll pay you 5% back from your bill. It's $4.95 a month and 4.9 cents per minute for state-to-state calls. It sounds kind of dodgy and is probably full of hassles, so I didn't do this. I don't know if this is available in the UK.
--CONCLUSION--
Be patient and maybe one day, you can make $10. It requires very little effort but very little reward, either.
I've never used the customer service support at this site, so the rating for that is irrelevent.
Advantages: Easy to use, Site is very good, They dont send you any junk mail to which you dont get paid for. Disadvantages: not enough emails hence not enough opportunities for earning big
This is an updated opinion: I have left the original opinion at the base of the page, for reference purposes.
Oh well, it appears “Sendmoreinfo’s” promise to make you money, whilst reading E-mails, was nothing but a con, not that I have been refused payment, or not that they have shut up shop, just the fact that I have not received an Email off them for so bloody long, and by the looks of it, neither have many of my referrals. ... ...least if I’m not receiving any Emails, at least they’ll be earning me some cash, wrong, my account has been pretty stagnant for quite a while now, I mean I think it has moved about 1 cent in the last 2 months.
So, what’s the actual purpose of these programs, you seem to start off well, then whenever you get near the pay-out limit, your Emails seems to dry right up, thus meaning, all the previous Emails you have read, have in fact ...

Advantages: good stable company, pays members Disadvantages: too few emails sent to make it worthwhile
SendMoreInfo is probably the longest established of all of the 'Paid to read Email' programs. It was founded in 1999 and has a history of paying members - highly important thing to look for these days.
Unfortunately, like all other rewards programs, SMI has been hit by the downturn in online Advertising in recent months. In fact because of this, I assume, I have only just received my latest 'paid email' yesterday - the first for over two months.
... ...'cash out' point without loads and loads of referals. Although they say that they will send you a cheque once you have earned just $10 - really it is hardly worth it after you have taken it your bank and got them to change it into £Sterling. Unless of course there is a way you can open a basic US $ Account (if anyone knows of one, let me know, because all American banks stipulate you must live in the US).
You are crediited with 5 cents for each ...

Advantages: Free and could earn you a few bucks Disadvantages: Emails slow up afetr a time and reaching minimum payout will take months
Sendmoreinfo.com is one of the more established ‘get paid for reading emails’ sites currently on the web. They launched on September 2nd 1999 and currently have a membership of almost two million. The concept is straightforward, become a member (it’s totally free to join), choose your favourite interests (maximum of twenty) and wait for emails to arrive geared towards the subjects you chose when registering. By clicking on the links ... ...amount of cash. Don’t expect to get rich quick with this scheme, at the moment sendmoreinfo pay you five cents for each email you receive and two cents for each email received by your referrals. The downline is rather disappointing, only the one level of referrals so in order to make any money at all, you need to recruit an awful lot of friends. I’ve been a member since October last year, have referred 6 friends and have earned myself ...

Advantages: Make money! Cheques actually sent - unlike some schemes! Disadvantages: Cheques In American Dollars
I've tried tonnes of these schemes, and I did think this was the best of the bunch, but not any more! Due to a vast increase in traffic. However, don't stop reasing now, you can still earn a few bob, as long as you aren't expecting instant cash! I have been a member now for about a 3 months having heard of the scheme on dooyoo and actually joining up having used a fellow dooyooers link! (If anyone is interested in joining having read this opinion ... ...:) and I would be very happy!). The scheme works as follows:- a)You join up via the site - www.sendmoreinfo.com - (or the previously mentioned link) and provide the company with the relevant information. This is basically a few personal details and the some details about your hobbies and interests which then enable them to select emails to send to you. b)You are then sent emails which contain a link c)You click on the link and 5cents (yes they pay ...

At the begin 1999 they wrote that for every received e-Mail, will be paied 5 cents and for each from a reveral 2 cents.
After a short time they changed the modus. Every customer can earn only money if he click the link which will be sent with every e-Mail. I understand it because a firm pay for the e-Mail and will receive a visitor for every paied e-Mail.
