...the most superior producers of Seriously Strong cheese. In doing so I have an ever-increasing admiration for their most excellent cheese.
It makes a great cheese sandwich and is a great addition to the top of my other favourite Lasagne. I didn’t think it possible that they could improve on this superior cheddar type cheese.

Wowsa, the jackpot a choice of three delicious flavours at this great price. Off an on over the last months this offer has been available and each time I have picked two of the flavours and have been delighted to do so. The tubs are different colours so it is easy to differentiate between the tubs when they are stored in the fridge, which they will be if you are a cheese lover.
I love cheese, well most cheeses and in particular strong cheddar, and I have on numerous occasions in the past perused the wares of McLelland the most superior producers of Seriously Strong cheese. In doing so I have an ever-increasing admiration for their most excellent cheese.

The three choices on offer are
1. Seriously Strong Original..............BLUE TUB 2. Seriously Strong Smokey..............RED TUB 3. Seriously Strong Chilli...................GREEN TUB
Nothing new in the first option being that it is simply a soft spreadable version of their super original cheese. It is definitely a cheese for those who like there cheese with a bit of a kick. It is just great with pickle or even just a light smear of brown sauce. There is a slight acidity, which accompanies the kick, but it is as the name suggests seriously strong.
The second option is the smokey version, which for me is truly the icing on the cake. There is a definite strong smokey smell, and the flavour is that to die for if you are one who likes the smoked idea.
The strong original flavour is not overcome by the smokiness but thee is a battle going on for supremacy, which only serves to give the taster something really special. I love this grilled on toast with a few very thin slices of tomato…………………………….just scrummy.
Just when I thought they had reached their peak I on one of my shopping trips got the last choice in the trilogy. It is now a very close run race between the three as to which would be my favourite, but the one currently in second place to the smokey is the chilli variety.
Again there is a competition going on for supremacy between the strong original flavour and the chilli, which although not burning your mouth off has a kick, which easily equals that of the original. This makes a simply super sandwich just on its own, and one, which kicks ***.
It really depends on what mood I’m in when I purchase this cheese as to which varieties I choose, but it doesn’t really matter too much since all three are of excellent quality and there certainly isn’t much out there just now which can compare with the fantastic taste. When not on special offer each 125gm tub retails at around £1,35 and even at that price it is well worth it.
This has quickly become by favourite cheese product, so much so that I now eat a lot more cheese than I used too, but I’ve no complaints this product is simply superb. It might be a little strong for children however, but I daresay there will be a few younger ones out there who will appreciate the quality as I do. I seriously strongly recommend this cheese.
Advantages: the sell by date is far too far in the future leaving me thinking it will never even decompose. Disadvantages: I would feed it to my neighbours dog but I like its healthy, glossy coat too much
After purchasing the SSS and trying the first mouthful I was acutley aware of a distinct lack of quality and taste. The company has located the essence of the strong cheddar flavour found in its other cheese products and emulated its overpowering nature in the form of this gloopy spread. Although the use-by date was ages away the flavour felt powdery and sour and left an uncomfortable buttery-custardy residue on the tounge. I normally enjoy a good ... ...its natural flavour. This is a poor imitation cheese at best and also incredibly bland. I have never complained in this manner about a product before and I dont enjoy feeling compelled to spout my frustration. I just feel Im moving evermore towards natural products, at a higher cost, to achieve a true sense of flavour and quality, rather than rely on multinational food groups pumping out creamy messes with fancy packaging. ...

...cheese but I found the seriously strong cheddar a bit too strong, so when I came across seriously strong spreadable I was a bit wary, but I bought some anyway. I was so glad I had. It has a nice distinct strong taste of cheddar unlike the majority of cheese spreads which seem mild.
It comes in a 125g tub and is great for spreading on crackers, (I like it on ryvita's) dip bread sticks in or have on crusty bread. It cost £1.16 from Asda.
