The overall rating of a review is different from a simple average of all individual ratings.

Slicethepie is quite a new website in which you sign up, listen to music for at least 30 seconds, rate out of ten write a review and you are meant to get paid. However there are five star ratings, you can only get paid when you get up to four stars up until then you earn voucher money in which you can invest into the artists because they are new and trying to be discovered and then if they basically get really good you can get a return. The rules are quite confusing but luckily there is FAQs and you can contact them, although it does take a while for them to reply. Also your star rating can fall so you get up to four and earn about 5p and go back down again, you also have to rate about one hundred tracks and have a high percentage which is calculated by how close you rate it to like other people have to advance far.
On a negative, the musicians are not meant to be celebrities yet when i tried it there were at least two already published acts, so it does not really make sense. The most annoying thing is that even when your star rating goes up it does not stay up for long and how are you meant to know what people would rate it on average when it is just your opinion of the genre etc. What you may like could be completely different to the 'average' user on this website.
Although, the free t-shirt if you support an act which gets further is encouraging it is only really good if you become a fan of the specific act, in my opinion.
Furthermore, their support team is quite good and they do reply quite fast, my message was answered within a few days. There is also a forum which is good if you enjoy social networking and discussing with people whom have similar interests to yourself, or could point you in the right direction of what you are interested in if maybe they have achieved it (a musical career perhaps). The navigation is relatively quite simple so it should not be too hard to find yourself around the website, as soon as you look at the main page it instantly looks original, refreshing and welcoming.
Overall, in my opinion if you like listening to music then it is quite good but if you are trying to earn money it is quite a waste of time and i would not recommend it to you.
The link is; http://www.slicethepie.com/ but if you want to earn money in my opinion there is not much point of trying it, however for the music you may enjoy.
