SMS.ac is a great site for sending Free SMS messages to mobilephones. You can join for free and you get 5 free SMS messages per day. There are loads of people from all over the UK registered and there is a community feel to it.
To counteract only being alowed to send 5 free SMS per day, visit another SMS site, www.SMS-Offers.com They run a service that lets you send from Free SMS sites like SMS.ac and Lycos all from the one website. This is quite useful.
Anyway, SMS.ac is a very useful service for contacting people and meeting people. The site is well designed and has good functionality. The content is interesting and the advertisements arent too intrusive to your web pleasure.

I have used the sms.ac site, and i found it very misleading. They have taken credit off me with out warning me in advance or explaining why. On all these sites it is vital that oyu read all the small print before using the service.

Advantages: Free texting, easy enough to navigate, 8 free texts a day. Disadvantages: Some features expensive, very slow loading, TERRIBLE background music!
