if you don't have patience to wait for the slow server and read 1 zillion pages of info, don't join SMS.AC, otherwise you'll end up with bogus messages sent to your mobile at the ridiculous price of 50p each. i unintentionally paid more for these silly sms messages than i paid for my mobile. I needed to top up my pay-as-you-go mobile more than 3 times within the last month, and it took me a couple weeks to realise where my money was going to... i got really disappointed because sms.ac looked like an interesting service, but i just couldn't bother waiting for the sluggish server and read lots and lots of information before using it. so beware before you join it!!
