Snopes, which is also known as the Urban Legends Reference Pages, is a popular website well known for debunking various urban legends, e-mail forwards, or any other rumors of questionable validity. It is run by Barbara and David Mikkelson, a couple from California who met on the newsgroup alt.folklore.urban and created Snopes in 1995. Snopes is a great website that takes a look at hundreds of urban legends and myths and does its best to give you reliable information on whether they are true or in a lot of cases, not. Snopes explains how these myths came about and explains why they are or aren't true. Although the actual content of the website is great, the website its self really isn't. It is quite hard to navigate and with no search feature it is quite hard to find a single myth if that's what your are looking.
