My experience is totally the opposite. Got my glasses half rim varifocals in 6 days perfect fit and perfect optics! Cost after exchange rate fluctuations £46.30 was shown as £48.99 on website so saved there and that was with postage.
The glasses came from Karachi in Pakistan and there was absolutely no problems whatsoever.Compare the above to glasses to the exact prescription with Vision Express @ £318 for one pair (I do have the receipt in my possession) then it is clearly a 'No Brainer'.
I will not hesitate to go there again Oh I forgot to mention I also got a decent hard case a lovely silk cleaning cloth and a spare pair of nose pads again all in the above price of £46.30.

Sounds like you were lucky, varifocals need to be measured before being made correctly, as well as having the prescription
