Ok, I've been here before, another company that promised me huge amounts of money, seemingly in return for nothing but surfing the web. At the time I was young, innocent and gullible, so duly signed up for Spedia. At first the initial pay rates were very similar to the other programs like CashSurfer, CashFiesta and Desktop dollars, in that I got a small (around 1 megabyte) download and had to run an ad bar on the bottom of my screen while surfing the web. In return they got revenue from advertisers, and paid
some of the revenue back to me, at around 60 cents an hour pay rate. All in all it looked a very average paid to surf ad bar program when all the internet companies were making loads of money and could spare a bit.
However over the past few months the ad revenue has steadily declined as the internet bubble burst, most of the losses have been transferred to the pay rates, falling to as low as 2 cents an hour. However for some reason Spedia did not follow the trend, and for several months stayed steady at 60 cents and hour, and when it finally did fall it only went as low as 32 cents an hour which has been the current pay rate for the last four or five months now. This makes it as much as 10 or 15 time better than most paid to surf programs, just on the basic pay rate. As well as this there are also many other ways to make extra money, not just using the bar. The amount you get paid is used by most other paid to surf companies, in that you accumulate points while surfing and at the end of the month the value of each point is calculated, so how much you have earn is calculated. If you get enough a check is sent out to you. The minimum amount for a check is $30, and this amount is fixed for both US and non-US members. You can request earlier, but a $4.50 fee is charged.
Spedia offers a variety of new ways to earn more points.
1. The Spedia bar. The Spedia bar sits on the bottom of the screen, next to the browser. It displays adverts, which you only have to watch, no obligation to click. You get 1 point () every minute of surfing. The current pay rate is 32 cents an hour
2. Playing Games - Spedia has a whole selection of games, for example tetris, slot machines, pacman and other, all played in Internet explorer. You earn points at the end of each game, depending on how well you scored in the game. Around 3-5 points is an average.
3. Receiving E-Mails. I have never actually received a paid e-mail from Spedia, so unable to comment reliably on this section, but you are supposed to get 5-10 points e-mail.
4. Referrals. Direct referrals get you 10% of their earnings, and any indirect referrals get you 5% of their earnings up to 5th level. A pretty standard referral link, where you need a lot of referrals to make much money
5. Instant cash. These are programs, which Spedia refers you t, usually to sign up to another Internet company, or buy something. These vary in point’s size, and vary on what you have to do. For example for 45 points you could sign up for a newsletter, or open a web based e-mail account, and for 4000 points you could apply for a credit card or open a bank account on line. There are a good selection on offer, some only open to the US and Canada, and some needing credit cards, but there are a whole bunch of free deals to earn more points.
In brief a summary Spedia is my favourite bar to earn money. The pay rates are better than most (although the fact they pay American members more than internationals is irritating), and there are plenty of special offers to get your teeth into. The bar is a disappointment, I personally find it unstable and points don't add up, and like many others the pay rates, although better will not get you very fat. All in all I am fed up with these paid to surf schemes, but this is not a bad option, and there is a chance I may earn enough to get paid, but without referrals it is a hard task. Good luck if you do try, it is promising, I have never been paid, but it is a good option, better than most.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Your last paragraph seems "lost" as if you do not beleive they are going to pay you at all. As you say, you have not been paid yet. I therefore can only give H as you shold not promote a site that you have not proved to be trust worthy. See brianlfc's comment below, and others. I would personally down-rate this site's ratings even further to 2 or 1 star. Nothing worse than wasting all that time and effort to be deleted or just ignored when requesting payment. I will uprate to VH when the members are warned this site is a time waster and not to join.

Good opinion, but I have to disagree with your good sentiments for Spedia... if you read my op on them, you'll see I had my account cancelled when I requested payment! Scott
