I first joined spedia.net over two years ago, when I also joined about 10 other get "paid" to surf junk programs. But, I went through a lazy stage and didn't use them for around a year. I'd slaved on their program and worked up about $10 for the half year I'd been with them. However, when I went back to it about 2 monthes ago, I'd been an inactive user for too long and my balance had been wiped!
*~~The Story~~* Yes, the same old same old. You dowload a bar. You open it and get points to "view" it. The bar is at the bottom of the screen and takes up about 1/6 of the screen. It makes the browser page smaller to fit in, which means that it doesn't keep popping up and annoyingly interupting you.
*~~How to get points~~* There's 6 main ways to get points-
* Surf with the bar. The most you earn is one point per minute ( don't know what the least is!) The bar is split into two section- I'm guessing that if the two sections are different adverts then you get more points.
* Recieve e-mails. You get 5 points for every e-mail ( well apparently you can get up to 10 but I never have) that you recieve and click on the link. Spedia is actually really good for sending e-mails- I've had well over 10 in the last 2 monthes. Okay, so they're not exactly always relevent to me ( Get 500 points for opening a bank account if you're over 18 and live in America and I'm 15 and live in Scotland) but hey I get the money for them!
* Shopping I don't really know a lot about this as I don't shop on-line very much, but basically you get points for buying things from different companies.
* Referals They have a 5 level refer process- 10% then 5% for each subsequent. This doesn't really work for me either as none of my friends are really that interesting in this. But, from what I've seen it is a pretty good referal system.
* Games There's a selection of 22 games to choose from. They're all pretty good fun, BUT I've played these games for hours at a time and have NEVER got ANY points from them! I mean, I've completed a ski-er gamer several times but haven't ever recieved any points. Very annoying! But, they are good fun to play so I still do it, hopeful as ever, anyway!
* Instant Cash Summary: Sign up for programs that sent you millions of junk e-mails, open a bank account or start placing money with a casino and you'll recieve points. They vary, depending on the company. There's always about 30 different ones but they don't change very frequently. And, again, they're mostly for Americans. The annoying thing is that I often am practically ready to sing up then they announce that it's for US citizens only. AH!!!
*~~Problems~~* I tried to download a new version of the spedia-bar, but it didn't and still doesn't work. Which means that basically the only points I earn are from e-mails which don't really generate much money. But, when the bar did work it was pretty good, although once or twice after hour long sessions it did tend to crash, which meant that I wasn't accredited for the surfing time. Again, very annoying! What I began to do was exit the bar and restart it around every 1/2 hour.
*~~Pay~~* Currently the payout rate is around 30 cents per hour and the minimum payout is $30 but they charge $4.50 for international adresses. You can up your payout amount by earning stars- surfing for more than 2 hours per day. You need 20 stars per month to be a premier member.
~~*Overall Opinion*~~ Yeah, if the spedia bar I would definately keep going with this program. But it doesn't really seen that great without the bar! I would reccomend it for anyone but particuarly for Americans!

I tried this for about half hour once, it was baffling to say the least. Popups and things all over the place, couldn't get anything working properly so I gave up, I much prefer the opinions sites to these type of "get paid to surf" gimmicks!

Great opinion, although I just don't trust these things after the experience I've had with them in the past! :)
Advantages: Good pay rates. Other, easier ways to make money. Disadvantages: Bar is unstable and stops working fast. Still only 32 cents an hour is not amazing
