Below this update is a glowing review I wrote of splashdvd.com some time ago. I recently heard several awful tales about how the site had gone downhill and checked it out for myself. I ordered a CD which I was told was in stock. Two months later I had still not received my CD and my emails were ignored. A couple of days later the money for the CD was taken from my account. Splash DVD is an entertainment supplier (they sell DVDs, CDs, games, books, camera and PC supplies) based in Jersey. Amusingly on their phone line they claim to be Europe’s number one, although I seriously doubt this after my dealings with them. Splash DVD currently has a £2 off voucher for new customers, which is always a great temptation. £2 off an already reasonably priced chart CD (£8.99 on average for top 40 CDs such as Dido’s Life for Rent) makes a big difference. I came across splashdvd.com whilst looking for good CD prices, they stood out from the rest with lower prices, more variety than other cheaper sources, and free delivery. I jumped at the chance to save myself a good £3-4 compared with rival companies, however I didn't expect to receive the pathetic excuse for customer service that followed. Firstly they withdrew the money from my account as I was still waiting for my CD to arrive, so I was left waiting empty handed and out of pocket.
