Fiat Punto Active Sport 1.2i 8v

Advantages: Great Looks, Low Tax, Cheap Insurance
Disadvantages: Ride Hieght, Slight Roll On Cornering

...Having recently handed my little Saxo over to my little sister for her lessons and run around. Its time to look for a new car, So I came accross a really nice "Fiat Punto Active Sport 1.2i 8v". Read below to find my opinion of this car so far....... Performance~ This car is awesome on petrol, Obviously depending on the way its driven its averagin about 48ish MPG. ALthough not as responsive as the saxo was and requires higher revs in lower gears to do this, Another slight downside is the ride height and suspension set up as the car feels very high, and also as if it is going to roll when taking corners at speed. Exterior~ The Active Sport variant of the Punto is in one word "sexy", Its got curves, and straight lines in all the right place. Again a slight draw back is the gap between the top of the wheels and the botton...

Is the Corsa 1.2 sxi the star buy?

Advantages: Small, reliable, easy to drive and safe
Disadvantages: Fuel consumption slightly high

..., although will out-accelerate some older model 1.4 engines. Good acceleration in 3rd gear for coming onto short motorway slip roads. Brakes are good. Uprated sports discs and brake pads make emergency stops quick and easy. PRACTICALITY Practicality is good too, with a fairly large boot size for a small car, probably enough space to fit in a set of golf clubs, or a few suit cases. May be difficult for tall passengers to get in the back of the car with the 3 door Corsa, but once in theres plenty of space to go round. VERDICT With owning this car since the beginning of the year, my honest opinion is that overall, the Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 sxi is a fantastic car. It is very asy to drive, standard features are good and it feels like a bigger car than what it actually is. I would recommend this car to any driver who is looking for value...

  Cosmic Corsa. 1.0 verses 1.2 model

Advantages: Good range of feature. Cheap running costs.
Disadvantages: Very common cars.

2009 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Sxi - NEW SHAPE

Advantages: space, steering, brakes
Disadvantages: boot and not as cool to look at as new fiesta

...My girlfriend and me were given an 09 plate Corsa, when she wrote of her Ford KA (click my name for a review of KA). It was Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 SXi in Silver, it had optional extras like bigger alloys wheels and tinted windows, but it also had a built-in Dashboard screen which I don?t know if is an optional extra or a modification, anyway it was at Pioneer screen which had Sat-Nav, radio controls, phone sync, CD player and if it is an option I would most certainly recommend it. The Corsa was very pleasant to drive, the steering is obviously PAS but it was extremely light, the brakes were excellent, the gearbox was surprisingly pleasant, and the driving position was fantastic. For a Super-Mini it really does feel like a big car, the driving position is slightly elevated and the dashboard is really quite large for a car of this size...

...I currently own a 53 plate Silver Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 SXi, im going to try provide a short and sweet review on the car for any potential buyers. Engine and Performance: Whilst a 1.2 engine may put potential buyers off due to a lack of power, it should be noted that this potential 16v engine is one of the best in its class, boasting one of the best 0-60mph times of 11.6 seconds. The engine is superb through the gears, although it is revved a little hard at motorway speeds but not enough to be a problem. 9\10 - Excellent pokey engine for the size. ...I recently bought the 2002 model Vauxhall Corsa 1.2Sxi, I was attracted to it by the great look, only then did I find out what advantages it actually has. It was priced at £8500, with the choice of 3 years intrest free credit. When I was looking round the showroom I was looking at all differnt types of models like the diesel and the petrol 1.2club etc (6999), but none were a patch on the Sxi. The difference being the interior and power to the engine: The interior on a Club is very standard, everything is platic and cheap looking, it has a radio casette, and even a coloured plastic gearnob, however the Sxi hs a CD player, Twin airbag, central locking, alloy wheels, twin spoiler and fog lamps it also has a great sporty effect on the dashboard ( a metallic grey). ...This is my first car and i am very impressed. Having learnt to drive in a Clio and liking it a lot, i thought it would be ideal for my first car. However, mine drives totally different from the one i learnt it, but both cars are a lovely, smooth ride and it is a great choice for a first car. 52 reg INSURANCE&TAX This car has cheap insurance, especially for first time drivers. It is in a low insurance band and therefore i would highly recommend it to those who have a low insurance budget. Road tax is also cheap, currently i pay £66 for 6 months which considering the credit crunch, it is not too bad. Renault Clio 1.2 (P Reg)

Advantages: Reliable, Spacious, Great MPG.
Disadvantages: Some flimsy minor interior parts, Slightly dated look.

...As a 19 year old student, who had finally had to scrap his 1995 Astra Merit due to it suffering evry problem under the sun from repeated fuel oxygen probe failures to total EMS failures, I had to take any car I could find that I could afford with my part time wages to get me back and forth from Uni. That makes it all the more lucky that I stumbled upon my P reg 1.2 Clio. Used, of course, with 78,000 on the clock and a £750 price tag. After another 12,000 miles driven, it still feels as tight in control as the day it was made. The clutch is sturdy, but not too springy, the brakes are tight but not jerky and the power steering is a blessing compared to my previous car. ...As 'my' first car (im on my dads insurance) we set out looking for a small 1.2 car, having looked at a few other cars we found a second hand Renault Clio Dynamique 5dr in the corner of a forecourt for around £4000, with 21,000 miles on the clock. Having only driven it for 6 months i have yet to find any major problems with it, the brakes take a while to get used to as they are very sensitive however i have found them to be an advantage if you need them in a hurry... (i will add at this point that the ABS works well!!)
