B&Q Oil Filled Radiator
Review of B&Q OIL Filled Radiator 1500W by  Hsaxo

Advantages: Small, heats the fulll room, bargain price
Disadvantages: takes a whle to heat up

...B&Q Oil Filled Radiator Bought one of these around 6months ago our heating wasn't going to be working for a couple of weeks so bought this for the bedroom. Went to B&Q as knew they had quite a selection didn't want a huge one as we don't really have much room in the bedroom. We bought it as a replacement for the halogen that we had been using which the dogs kept walking past and singing their tails in. It takes quite a while to heat up even when it is on full power but once it is warm it is more than enough to warm our bedroom up. It has various settings of heat so once the room is warm you can turn it down which is a really useful feature, the dial for doing this how ever does not have numbers on it and I do think it would benefit it if it did so you could turn it down a set amount and know which setting you usually use... CHALLENGE vs DIMPLEX Oil Filled Column Radiator
Review of Challenge Challenge by  Deetzyb

Advantages: good amount of heat
Disadvantages: takes a while to heat room up

...Having no central heating and no money to install it, I had to buy heaters for every room in my house - enter the Challenge Oil Filled Column Radiator. I had already bought Dimplex Oil Filled Column Radiators for my bedrooms which are double the price of the Challenge Oil Radiator but needed one for my hall. I bought the Challenge OFCR (Oil Filled Column Radiator) from Argos on sale at #19.99 and is normally #29.99. It has two options of heat settings and a temperature dial which you can adjust accordingly. The OFCR is on wheels which you have to put on yourself (which takes a minute or so) so it is easily moved around if required. Its asort of light beige colour with bright orange dials for heat and temperature control which is not the best colour option for them to go for! The Dimplex OFCR is the same design - on wheels... Almost instant heat, plug in and off you go
Review of Tesco Value MINI OIL Filled Radiator by  brittle1906

Advantages: Cheap to buy, efficient and easy to use and install.
Disadvantages: No timer, electric heating is not the most cost effective

...TESCO VALUE MINI OIL FILLED RADIATOR It seems rather fitting to be penning a review about a heater in early April with snow falling thick and fast outside! This compact radiator is ideal for providing heat in small areas, as the name implies it is a small appliance. The radiator is white in colour,so would blend in with most colour schemes. It is very light and easy to move around, being freestanding, not wall mounted. It produces a remarkable amount of warmth for a compact heater and is neat in appearance. It is small enough to stow away in a cupboard when not in use. The maximum wattage is 700w. and it comes with a fitted plug as standard. It is a basic radiator and as such, does not have a timer function or any fancy programmes. There are two heat settings and an on/off light so you know the radiator is plugged in... Read review

OLBAS OIL with apologies to BILLY CONNOLLY
Review of Olbas Oil Inhalant Decongestant by  anneyo

Advantages: Cheap, convenient, effective
Disadvantages: Just don't get it near your eyes!

...before or after a bath, however as it could be TOO powerful! Olbas Oil Inhalant Decongestant, to give it its full title, is one of life’s little indispensable wonders. It costs as little as £1.99 for 10ml, which will last for ages. It can be used for all age groups, with the exception of babies under 3 months. For children from 3 months to 2 years, a few drops should be sprinkled on a tissue and the tissue placed near, but not touching, the child. I used to place the tissue on the radiator in my childrens’ rooms so the air was filled with its scent. If you haven’t tried it yet, then get some! It’s either that or keep your wellies on until Summer!... Read review

Sort out your Scalp with Snake Oil Scalp Bar!
Review of Lush Snake Oil Scalp Massage Bar by  Hezoid

Advantages: It really, really works!
Disadvantages: It's a bit of a hassle, and the smell might put you off.

...the now liquid snake Oil isn't too hot, and dip your fingers in. Then start to massage the liquid oil into your scalp, being sure to really lift your hair and get it into your roots, and make sure you cover all of your scalp thoroughly. Then once you've used all the liquid up, simply leave it on your scalp for a minimum of 15 mins for it to get to work. I tend to leave it for 30mins to 1 hour to make sure it really gets to work, the longer you leave it the better, though it doesn't smell entirely pleasant so you might not want to leave it on for ages! To remove it, simply wash it off with shampoo as usual. You may want to use a shampoo for greasy hair to get it off, and may need to shampoo twice. I use Snake Oil once a week and really find it does the trick. Ingredients: Cocoa Butter (Theobrama cacao), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii... Read review

Bionaire BOH1000 - The cavalry of heaters!
Review of Bionaire BOH1000 OIL Filled Radiator by  liam_coops

Advantages: Cheap to run, Very safe
Disadvantages: Small

...My Experience… Well living in a 1930's council house with no other heating system and single glazing the Bionaire BOH1000 has been a life saver, and quite literally could be for the frail or elderly. In the past this product has been quick to heat up and cheap to run. You can leave the heater in a room, so you're not tied down worrying about whether it'll catch fire like you would be with dangerous antiquated electric blankets and fan heaters. Simply switch it on, and leave it, there is an intricate system of safety cut-offs on this product, in my opinion, making it one of the safest things in the house! Design… The BOH1000 is a handy and practical 1 foot wide. It easily fits into any room, apart from the bathroom of course - don't put electricals in the bathroom. The product works by heating oil and radiating it out... Read review

Hammerite Radiator Enamel, or is it Hammerless
Review of Hammerite Radiator Enamel by  skrg28

Advantages: Tin looks nice
Disadvantages: silver isnt silver, expensive, finish

...I have to say I am a big fan of Hammerite products. I tend to always have a good supply of the stuff as I can always find a use for it round the garden, garage or even the car. I even painted up the brakes on my car with Hammerite. The radiator in our kitchen is a small useless little thing that really shouldn't be there. However, it is there and I was for ever painting the thing to try and keep it clean and tidy. I usually paint radiators with white gloss but you tend to find that this yellows off and looks worse than before after a year or two. So on to the seen comes Hammerite Radiator Enamel found after a long time at Focus DIY for a whapping £7.99 for the can. Now yes, that's expensive, but then Hammerite always is. If your looking for a paint that should last well and look good then go for Hammerite. The one I bought... Read review

Carphone Warehouse mobile phone radiation figures
Review of Member Advice on Cellular Radiation by  opinion-maker

Advantages: Latest status on mobile phones and health
Disadvantages: still doesn't have the full facts (but is the best source as we can get)

...The Carphone Warehouse is currently the only UK site (I can find) which carries a wealth of health information relating to mobile phones. There are other sources of radation figures from (already mentioned in opinions from ciao): http://www.cellular.co.za/health/radiationgsmphonea-to-z.htm and another source from CNET: http://www.cnet.com/wireless/0-1923401-7-3583905.html The Carphone Warehouse guide is quite impartial (considering this is a mobile phone retailer!), stating the facts of known research and is very comprehensive. But the article is quite tricky to find on the site, and is not displayed that prominently, but it is there. The main categories are: Current Guidelines -Basically the latest guidelines are set by the UK's National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB) and International Commission on Non... Read review

Nuclear Assault - Radiation sickness
Review of Nuclear Assault - Radiation Sickness DVD by  joe-survey

Advantages: Great songs
Disadvantages: None

...About the DVD Radiation sickness is a 40 minute, 11 song DVD and video release by amazing thrash band; Nuclear Assault. It is a recording of a gig filmed at the London Hammersmith Odeon in 1988. Track listing 1. Betrayal 2. Stranded In Hell 3. Nuclear War 4. Butt F**k 5. Justice 6. My America 7. Radiation Sickness 8. After The Holocaust 9. Hang The Pope 10. Lesbians 11. Vengeance My opinion This DVD not only shows that Nuclear assault can write some amazing songs but it shows that they are great at performing them live. All eleven of the songs are pretty damn good and it makes a fantastic viewing. The quality of both sound and video is great, bearing in mind that it was filmed in 1988. The DVD shows just how fun a thrash metal gig can be. The highlights of the DVD are "Radiation sickness... Read review

An ongoing concern -cellular radiation
Review of Member Advice on Cellular Radiation by  cookiemonster

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

...With the current mobile phone boom now reaching saturation point it naturally follows that everyone shows major concerns about their side effects. Although there is scientific evidence which shows cellular radiation is harmful to humans I personally feel that each case is different and depends on each individual user -for example how long a person uses their mobile phone a day and what devices they use - a hands free kit being preferrable and reducing the amount of radiation exposure. Moderation, like with most things in life is the key. However, although a person chooses to use a mobile phone -what about passive exposure of people who do not? Also animals? I feel it is very much a wait and see situation by which time it will be too late. I certainly feel that the government isn't doing anything for this area of concern and using... Read review
