...10,000 BC. This will be a short review which is what this film deserves. From the director of 'Independence Day' and 'The Day After Tomorrow' comes a film that is visually stunning. The film starts with D'Leh as a young boy, when hunters return having found a young girl with blue eyes, Evolet The witch of the village predicts that soon Warlords will come and attack the village. She also forcasts that the man, who the blue eyed girl choses as her husband, will save the village. Evolet is taken by the warlords and D'Leh sets off on a quest that will involve love, honour, spirits, adventure, death, redemption and salvation. Oh and along the way he will pick up an army. The acting is not the best, but I suppose playing someone just above a caveman doesn't need Noel Coward. The commentary that comes at intervals... Read review

'10,000 BC' is an incredibly sweet movie that won't be winning any Oscars or minor awards, however, it will win the hearts of most people with the sense to watch it - and why would anyone NOT want to watch it?! If you like prehistoric creatures along the lines of 'Primeval' (without the dinosaurs), and you like a bit of romance and adventure, then '10,000 BC' is an excellent choice. Advantages: Some good special effects.
Disadvantages: Dreadful acting and even worse writing and direction.

...-the-top element that doesn't do the movie any favours. "10,000 BC" is popcorn filmmaking at its worst. Roland Emmerich is so besotted by his computer-generated animals that he forgets to build a story for them to appear in. No matter how good the special effects are, they can't make up for the slapdash direction and writing or the wooden performances. Sidestepping the "so bad it's good" category, it's just rubbish. Unless you really, really want to see those mammoths, avoid this pile of tripe at all costs.... Read review

The twentieth century would not be complete without Marcel Duchamp, but there is also a mention of contemporary artists. Architecture in France is traced from the Romans through Gothic, Baroque and Rococo to the twentieth century. Advantages: Good film with great effects
Disadvantages: Could have done with a stronger plot

...'s character and his father's best friend decide to follow the horses and free their men. Their journey takes they a long way from home through different countries where they have to battle against different animals and creatures. They do meet another tribe who have also been visited by the horse back men. They talk of how the kidnapped are taken to a far point and then the giant birds come and the men are never seen again. Steven's character and the new tribe he has met strike up a friendship and agree to go and fight the horse back men and free their people. Along the way a big army is formed from different tribes. Will they be successful in freeing their men before they reach the giant birds and just what are the giant birds and where do they go. Will Evolet ever be rescued? This film is set in 10,000 BC so I cannot actually comment... Read review

It was known as 'milk of eternal life' & in the late 19th century was looked upon as being a medical miracle. Yoghurt is made by introducing specific bacteria strains into milk, which are fermented under strictly controlled temperatures and environmental conditions. The bacteria ingest natural milk sugars and release lactic acid as a waste product. The increased acidity causes milk proteins to become a solid mass. In some countries, a product can only be called yoghurt if live bacteria are present in the final product.
