Sennheiser PX100 Review
Review of Sennheiser PX100 by
bowdeni
Advantages: Incredible sound, comfortable, case included
Disadvantages: Not as compact as earphones, not soundproof
...Sennheiser have a great reputation for making great benchmark headphones, and this reputation is added to with the PX100. Given 5 star and rated as best budget headphones by 'What hi-fi?', I strong urge you to consider buying new headphones.
As the portable audio product market has become more price competitive, and the quality of sound has increased I have seen that companies are reducing the cost spent on headphones when they should be increased to utilize the full performance of the unit.
I bought these Sennheiser PX100 6 months ago for my Apple ipod, 4th generation and have been delighted with them. The quality of earbuds that come with mp3 players for example, are adequate but you can improve your portable listening immensely with by purchasing this product. The quality of sound is signifcantly better than that supplied...

Sennheiser PX100 good open back headphones
Review of Sennheiser PX100 by
MartinImber
Advantages: Sound quality, open back, fold quite small, comfortable
Disadvantages: Do not fold as small as in ears.
...I own a Sony Minidisc portable with supplied in ear head phones, however I mislayed them - I also did not like them.
So I had to find some new head phones, now I knew in the price range Sennheiser were among the best. So I had a look in my local HiFi dealer.
They had a reasonably selection of Sennheiser and in both black and white. The white pairs were £5 more than the black pairs for some mad reason or other.
Anyway I bought a pair of black Sennheiser PX100s.
They come in a nice case and fold up pretty small, the ear sections fold flat.
They are black with black foam, silver speaker backs and a spring steel - well spring.
The PX100s are open back so you can here what is happening around you.
They are comfortable to wear, even for a couple of hours. No pain compared to in ears!!!!
The sound quality is very good, much better than...

Sennheiser PX100 - First choice everytime
Review of Sennheiser PX100 by
ladyboymondaytofriday
Advantages: well built, look good, great sound quality, comfy to wear
Disadvantages: cost
...Think of a name of a headphone manufacturer, any name and I can bet that Sennheiser will not be one that springs to mind immediately after all with so many variations out there on the market the more well known Sony, Plantronics, Creative that sell for less tend to be the headphone of choice when looking to pick up a budget set.
I decided to splash out somewhat on the Sennheiser PX100 for use with my cheap as chips MP3 player and paid £30 for them direct from Sennheiser.
With an adjustable strap to hold the headphones to your head the actual speakers are larger than the actual 'buds' that come with things like an i-Pod or Playstation Portable and instead of sitting in the ear fit snugly around the lobe. The unit folds down neatly and come in a solid case to make them more portable than the ancient 1980's headphones that would snap...

Excellent upgrade from the stock earphones
Review of Sennheiser PX100 by
Sparx22
Advantages: Value, sound, durability, ease-of-transport
Disadvantages: You can't wear a hat over it
...I was looking for some new headphones to go with my iPod and I was inclined towards getting some Sennheisers. I eventually went for the PX200s instead of these, but I do have some experience with the PX100s because I regularly use my friend's headphones. They are 'open dynamic supra-aural mini headphones'.
Sound Quality
Truly outstanding - there is no bass better than this for any headphones under 100 pounds and there is definitely no better bass in this price range. It uses special patent pending technology to create this awesome experience (bass damping and baffling I believe). The rest of the sound range is of a similarly high caliber, and there is no tinny or muddy noise here. You'll have to break in the headphones (blast some music out of them for a while) before they'll start to sound properly good - well, according to my...

A must-buy step up from the stock headphones
Review of Sennheiser PX200 by
Sparx22
Advantages: Excellent value and supreme sound (esepcially bass) quality
Disadvantages: You can't wear a hat over them without looking stupid
... Sound Quality
First off - the AMAZING bass quality. My friend has a pair of PX100s and whilst they arguably have a better bass, the PX200 still outdoes everything in its price range. The rest of the sounds are fantastic and clearly defined and aren't just some muddy background noise - stands above the rest.
Comfort
NO compromise on comfort. The closed design ensures background noise reduction as well as making sure the user isn't uncomfortable. It also stops everyone else on the bus/train hearing what you're listening to. The headphones sit nicely on the head - I tend to wear them backwards, as it's more comfortable for me. The constant folding means the earcups dig in a bit into your head, so wearing the the wrong way round or a bit further back should curb this problem.
Ergonomics and Aesthetics...

For the considerate music lover
Review of Sennheiser PX100 by
pearlywhites
Advantages: Crystal clear playback, comfortable to wear, low price, long lasting, plays back bass brilliantly
Disadvantages: None
...After a couple of months of abuse my iPod earphones finally decided that would give me the impression I had Tinnitus, with the buzzing and ringing finally getting to levels where I couldn’t hear the music properly. Rather than buying a set of headphones that fitted into my ear, which I am sure is making me go deaf I elected to go with over the ear headphones. Paying £15.99 for a set of black Sennheiser PX100 headphones was quite reasonable considering proper Apple headphones can cost upwards of £20.
What can I say about the way the headphones look that can’t be gathered from the picture above? Not much really. As you can see, the adjustable head strap keeps them secure to your head, with the fit being rather snug. There are not plastic bits that stick out into your head which is nice. I recall my first Walkman headphones circa 1987...

Fabulous TV
Review of Panasonic TH-42PX60E by
silverfox357
Advantages: Brilliant picture
Disadvantages: slight blurring when letters move very fast, horizontaly across screen
...All of the Panasonic PX range have great pictures but which one to choose? This model gives the best value for money - the 37" is only £100 cheaper and the 50" is extravagantly expensive. So the choice is between the 42" PX60 and the 42" PX600. These sets are basically the same except that the PX600 has a SD reader and a better sound system, not that the PX60 sound system is bad. But do you want to pay £500 to £600 more for a sound system that can be bettered more cheaply by attaching external loudspeakers? So, for me, the choice was obvious.
For those thinking of a LCD screen, it still holds that plasma screens of this size give a better picture with much better contrast. The picture on this plasma is truly fantastic. The only problem is that when letters are run very fast across the screen, there is slight blurring. I didn't find...

PANASONIC TH42PX60B 42" Plasma TV
Review of PANASONIC TH42PX60B 42" HD Ready Digital Plasma TV by
trumo
Advantages: Amazing picture quality, HD Ready, NICAM stereo sound, stylish stand.
Disadvantages: No back to the stand which makes it hard to conceal inflexible scart leads.
...I bought this TV at a special online price of £2074 (Curry's website) and it was money well spent! The first time I turned it on I was struck by the excellent picture quality, it really is superb. I looked at a lot of plasmas before I bought this one and it definitely has one of the sharpest pictures and the best colours of anything in its price bracket.
The stand doesn't come with the TV for that price and will cost you an extra £100, Alternatively, you can mount it on the wall. If you use the stand and you have DVD players, Sky boxes, game consoles etc. then you might find it difficult to conceal the thick scart leads from view, these tend not to be very flexible and I can't bend mine to fit in the channels on the back of the stand. (the TV comes with 3 scart sockets)
The sound compliments the quality of the picture, NICAM Stereo...

You are still using the headphones supplied, why?
Review of Sennheiser PX200 by
Miles13
Advantages: They sound better than supplied headphones
Disadvantages: The cost
...I don’t what it is but the manufactures of portable decks wither it be MP3, CD, DVD and handheld games systems the supplied “in-ear” headphones sound just awful and are quite painful to listen too, with that in mind SENNHEISER came up with a range of headphones to replace them.
The first of these models is an “in-ear” design, the model MX500 (r.r.p. £19.99) I found this particular design to uncomfortable to wear over long periods and the next ones in the range where more comfortable to wear over extended listening sessions and where very cool to look at with their retro looks with a supplied carrying box that looks like a sunglasses case but the PX100 (r.r.p. £24.99) design lacked the detailed sound with deep bass I was looking for.
The third model in the range is the PX200 (r.r.p. £29...
