Advantages: Very fast cheap to run printer
Disadvantages: quite large for home use

...I bought an HP 1200d Printer in April of this year. I chose this printer because the reviews I had read were excellent and I wanted a printer with seperate ink cartridges that were quock and were in my privce range. This printer met all 3 conditions. The print speed of text is very very quick, colour printing is quick but photos are fairly slow however the quaality is excellent. The printer has a built in duplex facility. The 1200d is a little bigger than most ink jets, at 8.3in by 19.9in by 18.3in (HWD). The ink cartridges are separate from the print heads, so you have to install four of each also there are 4 seperate print heads to deal with. HP says each cartridge can manage 1,750 pages. The beauty of seperate cartridges is that if the Cyan runs out you just change the cyan you do not loose the remainder of teh other... Read review

Advantages: Reliable and compact
Disadvantages: Noisy

...I've had this printer for over two years and I've never had a problem with it- not even a paper jam! It was easy to install and is quite compact for a laserjet (415mmx486mmx253mm). The driver is included in Windows XP and it is basically just a matter of connecting the printer. I ordered one for work first so that I could try it out before buying one for home. I have always been a fan of HP printers so I didn't look at any other brands. I chose this HP model because it was cheap enough for a home user and looked better than the other models. I don't use it for printing pictures as it's only monochrome but the resolution and speed are more than adequate for printing documents. spread sheets and web pages. On the downside, it is a bit noisy so I've put it to one side and under the desk. The cartridges are slightly more expensive... Read review

No problem with alignment as of other earlier Deskjet models outside the 9800D series. -Printing- Ideally, with the help of HP's 'Photo-Printing' software such as determining the print resolutions and cropping/editing the inpending print run. The 9800D is a printer that would satisfy the wilful eye of an amateur photographer, though is questionable for the professional photographer who relies on that bit of quality. The 4800 dpi X 1200 dpi is still wanting for quality when dealing with hyper specification cameras that show visual qualities of extreme professionalism. Having said that this printer version is close to 95% there. Not bad for an inkjet that works with a twin set of colour and black cartridges. -Spooling- Yep, this is a weird phrase when used when collecting data from the PC to the printer. The 460CB is a mobile printer that would be perfect for a professional or an amateur photographer. The 460CB would be a fantastic answer for 'prints on the move' presentations; just remember to pack your Flash/graphics card, digital camera, or laptop. This product could represent your working team while going mobile. It's versatility is unquestionable especially when it delivers top quality prints everytime.
