There are many new features to the iPod Classic. The sound quality is great and the video quality is just as good as a TV. With 160GB of memory you will never have to worry about running out of space ever again. The iPod its self is very durable. I have dropped my iPod lots of times and it still looks brand new. The screen is a bit like a small wide screen TV but its great for watching TV shows and movies. I wouldn't recommend that any one buys a second hand iPod, as they are quite often broken. Ipod Classic - 160GB

Advantages: Size, Workmanship, Functionality
Disadvantages: Zero support for some old peripherals, crashes car stereo , Bit heavy!

...and click 'get album artwork' - this did take a while... but worked! Whilst coverflow looks nice I don't think it adds extra functionality to the IPod... more a space draining quirk! It does look awesome though ;-) Sound playback is the usual high standard - but this is really down to you, the user - I have all my imported (off CD) music set to apple loss-less. Which will take up more space, but with 160 GIGS to play with... it is not a great deal more! It must be said - the headphones supplied are useless... get some Sennheiser CX300 - the added clarity is noticeable - and you do not need it as loud! The hat trick is that the ear buds stay in my ear when I am working out. Video playback; to test this I ripped Family Guy from dvd to IPod using the ImToo software package. Quality was good - but KILLS your battery! So not ideal...

Extra memory for me - Samsung 160Gb External hard drive USB

But my Samsung is a portable hard-drive with a storage capacity of 160GB MY PORTABLE HARD DRIVE: This little Samsung hard drive is really compact, with a neat aluminium body and does not require external power supply. I bought my Samsung hard-drive online from Ebay not in an auction but a Buy it Now seller. It has 160 GB storage capacity and costs me under £40. It weighs around 150 gram and easily fits in my bag or a jacket pocket. It is just a sealed aluminium box with a mini USB port at one end ? nothing else at all. The actual item is 11.5cm x 1.0cm x 7.0cm (only 0.5" inch thick) which is amazing I think. All I did when it arrived was take it out of the box, plug the mini USB into the item then plug the 2...

...amount of important files. Needless to say, I don't think that will be a problem with the WD Passport Portable. The only thing potential buyers need to think about when considering this device is how much space they need for their files. 160 GB is one of the smallest sizes I could find for external hard drives, but it is about the same size as my laptop's internal hard drive - in other words, it stores a lot of data! If, therefore, you are looking for something just to back up a few photos, or a couple of word documents, it would probably be a better idea to do so by CD or USB stick. But it's a definite for people who want to transfer and back up there many files easily, securely and promptly, without having the downside of dragging a huge bulky hard drive around when you want to take your files with you elsewhere....

...I purchased this to replace my 3rd Gen? 40gb iPod and boy what a difference. The screen on the new 160gb iPod is MUCH bigger than my old iPod and also the screen is in colour. The 160gb iPod's screen shows a lot more info than my old iPod such has Cover Flow (I will mention this later in the review) and album covers. The quality of the screen is absolutely amazing; it remains bright in direct sunlight and is ALWAYS very easy to read. The iPod 160gb also has the ability to play videos but I cannot comment on this feature as I have not used it yet. The excellent click wheel is still here as well; for people who are not familiar with this, the white circle on the front of the iPod has 4 functions on it, MENU (TO GO INTO MENUS, TRACK LISTS, VARIOUS OTHER FUNCTIONS) SKIP FORWARD, SKIP BACK, PLAY/PAUSE. Maxtor Basic 160GB - couldn't be simpler

Advantages: Light, cheap and VERY simple to use

...I bought this one week at Tesco for under £40 so thought 160Gb forvthat price couldn't be bad. we just wanted to back up our photos and music and free a bit of space on our computer. I am not a computer wizz and things have to be reasonably simple. This is SO SIMPLE. Very basic small box-like drive which is also very light so easy to transport around if you want to. it comes with one lead with two USB ports at one end to go into the computer and the other has the point that connects to the hard drive. You connect all the points to the correct places and then it boots itself in and installs without any further ado. No expertise required at all. Any idiot could do it. After that just copy files over or open documents and save to the hard drive which comes up like any other memory stick when you click where you want to "save as...
