Disadvantages: Zero support for some old peripherals, crashes car stereo , Bit heavy!

...and click 'get album artwork' - this did take a while... but worked! Whilst coverflow looks nice I don't think it adds extra functionality to the IPod... more a space draining quirk! It does look awesome though ;-) Sound playback is the usual high standard - but this is really down to you, the user - I have all my imported (off CD) music set to apple loss-less. Which will take up more space, but with 160 GIGS to play with... it is not a great deal more! It must be said - the headphones supplied are useless... get some Sennheiser CX300 - the added clarity is noticeable - and you do not need it as loud! The hat trick is that the ear buds stay in my ear when I am working out. Video playback; to test this I ripped Family Guy from dvd to IPod using the ImToo software package. Quality was good - but KILLS your battery! So not ideal...

Extra memory for me - Samsung 160Gb External hard drive USB

I bought my Samsung hard-drive online from Ebay not in an auction but a Buy it Now seller. It has 160 GB storage capacity and costs me under £40. It weighs around 150 gram and easily fits in my bag or a jacket pocket. It is just a sealed aluminium box with a mini USB port at one end ? nothing else at all. Portable, durable and affordable disk space: WD 160GB Passport

...amount of important files. Needless to say, I don't think that will be a problem with the WD Passport Portable. The only thing potential buyers need to think about when considering this device is how much space they need for their files. 160 GB is one of the smallest sizes I could find for external hard drives, but it is about the same size as my laptop's internal hard drive - in other words, it stores a lot of data! If, therefore, you are looking for something just to back up a few photos, or a couple of word documents, it would probably be a better idea to do so by CD or USB stick. But it's a definite for people who want to transfer and back up there many files easily, securely and promptly, without having the downside of dragging a huge bulky hard drive around when you want to take your files with you elsewhere....

The iPod goes from strength to strength

...I purchased this to replace my 3rd Gen? 40gb iPod and boy what a difference. The screen on the new 160gb iPod is MUCH bigger than my old iPod and also the screen is in colour. The 160gb iPod's screen shows a lot more info than my old iPod such has Cover Flow (I will mention this later in the review) and album covers. The quality of the screen is absolutely amazing; it remains bright in direct sunlight and is ALWAYS very easy to read. The iPod 160gb also has the ability to play videos but I cannot comment on this feature as I have not used it yet. The excellent click wheel is still here as well; for people who are not familiar with this, the white circle on the front of the iPod has 4 functions on it, MENU (TO GO INTO MENUS, TRACK LISTS, VARIOUS OTHER FUNCTIONS) SKIP FORWARD, SKIP BACK, PLAY/PAUSE. 160GB HD,DVD REcorder and DIVX

Advantages: Big HD, HDMI, DIVX
Disadvantages: Can't copy DIVX to HD ,won't play mpegs off dvd or cd.

...I spent a long time looking for a DVD recorder that had a built in hard drive and could also play back divx files. As it turned out there are few options. It boiled down to this and several LG models which i learnt could not fast forward and rewind divx which made them useless to me. Even though this was the only unit that met my requirements im very pleased with it. First i'll talk about connections. It has 2 Scart sockets both of which are RGB enabled. It has component,S-video,DVI and HDMI and DV input. Only critisiscm with connections is that the unit doesn't pass through RGB when the recorder is switched off or in standby.
