My crap attemps at a DIY French Polish
Review of Boots 17- Nail Tip Whitener by
redballoon
Advantages: Can be used as tippex
Disadvantages: Gives poor results
...Why did I buy this?
********************
I brought this nail whitening polish as I thought it would give me a half decent French manicure for half the price.
I have looked into having my nail professionally French manicured, but it would cost around £40, which I cant really afford.
Price and Availability
***********************
This polish cost me a mere £3 and is only available from Boots.
What do you get for your money?
************************************
You get a pot containing a white nail polish. The colour is a solid white unlike normal nail polishes which have a metallic effect in them. It looks like tippex!
How to apply it
*****************
After applying your nail polish base you should apply this white polish on to the tips of your nail to enhance the ends of your nails.
This is the fiddly part as the polish...

Glitter and sparkle
Review of Boots 17- Nail Varnish by
chocoholic
Advantages: see op
Disadvantages: see op
...are soft.
File in one direction towards the centre of the nail. Sort out any uneven edges with a nail buffer.
*~ Use a gentle nail varnish remover - preferably without acetone.
*~ Get a bowl of warm soapy water and soak nails for a few minutes. Apply cuticle cream to each nail and massage gently. Boots 17 also do a good value cuticle cream. This cream will help moisturise your nails.
*~ Finally you can get the nail colour out!!
When you apply your chosen colour do one stroke down the middle of the nail first. Then do the sides. It's best to apply two coats of nail polish (let the first one dry!).
My most favourite nail colour is Boots 17 'Purple Wonder', I usually wear this colour- it's brilliant.
Thanks for reading!...

pure colour pure chips
Review of Boots 17- Pure Colour Nail Polish by
vc123
Advantages: dfsf
Disadvantages: dsfsd
...I recently bought a bottle of black number 17 nail polish from boots for £2.80 because t was the only black nal polsh I could find that day I usually don't pay as much because I am only 14 and living on £10 pocket money a week is hard enough without spending almost £3 on a little bottle of nail polish. When I put it on it was pretty good and dried in no time at all it was supposed to be 60 but it was quicker. I thought it was great until about a few hours later when I was tidying my room and I noticed it had chipped. Not only on one nail oh no not two not three but four of my nails! £2.80 for a nail polish that chips tut tut tut well I won't be buying that cheap crap again!...

Smelly but at least it works
Review of Boots No.17 Conditioning Nail Polish Remover by
Grace100
Advantages: It works!
Disadvantages: Smelly!
...Ok, so all nail polish remeover stinks like hell, but it's really annoying when they smell and don't even work! The number of bottles of remover that i've spent money on, only to get home and try to get my nail varnish off, only to find that it's easier to scrape it off myself!!!! It's amazing! but this time I thoiught i'd spend a tiny bit extra on the boots 17 nail polish remover,to see if it was any different to any of the others. It wasn't too expensive, aboout average, so I wasn't gooing to get my hopes up too high! It was a very strange colour and smelt just as bad as any other, so i wasn't surprised. I managed to get all my nail varnish off without too much hard work and my nails weren't even too brittle after wards! It took a few goes, but my nails are long so thbat was inevitable and after that it was all gone. They didn...

yes I really did do them myself
Review of Boots 17- Coat and Draw by
MiddyOil
Advantages: professional look, easy to apply.
Disadvantages: can still be soft enough to damage when it appears dry, not many colours
...I work in a job that involves quite a bit of opening boxes, so my nails really didn't look good after a day's work. So then I've tried all sorts of nail polishes, and nail art stickers to help my nails look better. I used stickers a lot until I found this wonderful Coat & Draw. I can't remember the price as one pen lasts so long that it is a long time since I've bought one - but it is about the same as the average price for a bottle of a more standard Boots own nail polish.
They come in long thin containers, rather like a thick pen. You can then unscrew the lid - which contains a brush - and use like normal nail polish - the Coat; Or pull the cap off and you have the Draw:
When you pull the cap off, you find a metal tip with a tiny hole at the end. To use, you simply hold the pen to your nail, squeeze pen gently and simply move...

Doesn't do what it promises
Review of Boots 17 Lasting Fix Nail Polish by
Angelil
Advantages: Nice colours
Disadvantages: Horrible consistency, takes ages to dry, chips really easily
...--What the promo says--
"Nail Varnish. 17 Lasting Fix Nail Polish, one colour. All week, no chips, promise. Hard Working nail polish that stays put, no matter what you get up to. Shake Well and apply 2 coats for maximum coverage."
--Packaging--
Small, slightly squat glass bottle, measuring no more than 5-6cm in height. The lid of the applicator is black, and the 17 logo and the name of the product appears on the front of the bottle in silver.
--Application--
Same as any other nail polish. After applying a base coat, I'll apply the main nail colour using one streak in the middle of the nail and then one either side; after leaving to dry for 5 minutes, I'll repeat this step again, before leaving to dry and then adding the top coat. However, this takes soooo long to dry that perhaps 5 minutes for each coat is a bit optimistic. It smudges...

Wish it was gone in 60 seconds!!
Review of Boots 17- Fast Finish Nail Polish by
kerryzach
Advantages: Cheap, nice colours, dries quickly
Disadvantages: Hard to remove, very thick
...Boots 17 Fast Finish one coat nail polish, dries in 60 seconds.
I bought this nail varnish, sorry, polish, for my sisters 18th Birthday party. I have nail extensions so thought would jazz them up a bit. Bought the Flirty Fox colour, which is a very delicate pink with a pink glitter through it. Extremely girly but equally pretty. The idea was to paint just the white tips of my nails for a pretty elegant look. As I have small hands i tend not to paint my whole nails as they just look enormous in comparison!!
The bottle has a silver top and silver writing. Very basic design but you dont wear the bottle do you! The brush is long but quite thick. The advantage is that you can cover a nail in one or two strokes. The disadvantage is that the brush gets glooped up easily!!
The smell is the usual nail polish smell. AAAh!! Lovely! (Not...

Clubwear for Nails, or rather not....
Review of Boots No.17 Hi-Glow Nail Polish by
sienna501
Advantages: none
Disadvantages: Gets everywhere, watery based and turns out streaky!
...Im writing this opinion to warn other mad clubbers like myself that if you see this product not to use it! After walking into Boots and seeing 'Boots 17 Hi-Glow Clubwear for Nails' for sale it tempted me to try it out, well seen as UV was in fashion at that point i decided to give it a go.
After applying two or three coats which in normal light looked perfectly fine i went to a club with UV lights in it and was shocked to see that i had white streaks everywhere, all over my hands and my nails looked horrific! This nail varnish is so watery based it tends to get EVERYWHERE including your hair and clothes. With this product it is impossible to produce even coats of polish and your hands turn out looking like a complete streaky mess.
This nail varnish was on special offer, now i can see just why....

Sparkly Party Animal
Review of Boots 17- Nail Varnish by
sally_x_uk
Advantages: Perfect for a night out
Disadvantages: hard to remove
...This nail varnish is one of the best I have ever experienced, as per usual Sparkly by 17 has lived up to its name providing quality as well as value for money. I was thrilled when one of my friends bought me this particular polish to go with a new black outfit.
This varnish can be worn on its own, although two coats are recommended, to create solid sparkly silver glitter effect across your nails. Or alternatively if you apply one coat over the nail varnish of your choice it creates a thinner upper layer of glitter, allowing the original colour to shine through.
I would give this product a 10/10 for colour, quality and endurance. For under £3 it is cheap enough to be able to change your colour often, but it is still good enough to wear out for any occasion...

Midnight Manicure
Review of Boots 17- Advanced Wear by
tartanprincess80
Advantages: Great colour
Disadvantages: Loses shine in about a day
...Finding black nail polish is harder than you'd expect. Boots 17 range do a great Midnight black colour, which only takes two coats to look spectacular.
For around £3 you get the usual 15ml of varnish, and I personally think £3 is a little too much to pay, but this is the midrange of the usual pricing of nail varnish.
It promises to dry quickly, but I would be cautious with your nails for around half an hour after applying, just to make sure you don't have a nasty smudge accident!
Removal is easy enough with any regular nail polish remover, use a tissue soaked in remover and you will have a clean result.
The colour is true to the packaging, and long lasting. The shine lasts around a day, but is chip proof (as long as you don't treat your hands roughly) for about 4 days, before you have to recoat your nails.
Happy painting!...
