206 SW 2.0 HDi

Advantages: Fuel Economy, Handling, Good Looks
Disadvantages: Bland Gearbox, Minor Storage Problem

...I purchased a secondhand stationwagon (52 plate) from a dealer after weeks of searching. I must say that it's the best car i've ever had. The handling is excellent , you can feel the feedback straight away, and it's not deducted by being the estate version either. The car has remote central locking and an alarm, which isn't standard on all models, so check that yours has. Performance: The 2 litre diesel engine is another boon, lots of low down power and you wouldn't really believe the car only has 90bhp. Acceleration from standing is good and when the turbo kicks in it flies along. 0-60 is around 13 seconds and top speed 113 but it's between 35-80 where the car excels. If you thought that diesels were sluggish think again. Diesel rattle is there at standstill but with the car moving, the noise is nothing that you wouldn't get in...

My PUG 206 2.0 L HDI

Advantages: Good engine and good looks
Disadvantages: Plastic interior

...version which I feel adds to the continuity. There is a little spoiler at the top of the rear wind screen that contains a brake light and looks very good when viewed from another vehicle. The model I have has 5 spoke Peugeot alloy wheels. These give the PUG a sporty look and add to the overall appeal of the car. Other PUG's that don't have the alloys don't compare in terms of aesthetics in my opinion. I think that all 2.0 L versions come with spot lights at the front of the car which is a good thing as they certainly help to widen the beam of light on the road during foggy conditions. Also, they draw attention from fellow drivers and I have received many a compliment on the appeal of the lights. Internally, the dash board is primarily plastic which I don't mind as it is easy to keep clean. Luckily it is also black which ties in...

206 D Turbo HDI

Advantages: Loads of mid range grunt, looks fab
Disadvantages: None

...I bought my car in March 2003 after waiting 6 weeks for it to be delievered, boy was the wait worth it. I ordered my car with leather interior, air con and sun roof, it looks smart, and it is the thinking man's GTI. So far I've completed 2000 miles in mine. I find the seats very comfortable and secure - they do hold you in when you are taking corners at speed. The main reason why I bought a 206 D Turbo was becasue of the fuel economy - I drive 90 miles everyday and I needed an econmical car after my 307 started a drink problem like Oliver Reed. I average about 45MPG when driving to and from work, strangley enough, fuel economey in city driving improves this figure to around 50MPG. The only giveaway that the car is a diesel is when it is idiling - not in terms of sheer noise, but the way the gear lever slightly vibrates, but once...

Peugeot 307 Rapier 2.0HDi (90bhp)

Advantages: great looks, fuel economy and performance
Disadvantages: had lots of problems especially with the electrics

...down to me but I have never had this problem before in many years of driving different cars Despite all this I still liked the car's performance and opted for a new 307 rather than a 206 when the lease was up (these were the 2 I had to chose between). However if I had bought the car myself I would not have been happy with the number of problems and recalls. I was lucky that if there was a problem I was just given another car until it was fixed, I had no bills to pay and a fleet manager to fight my battles. I don't know whether this was just a rogue car or not but I do know that the electrics on the column were a problem in the first chround of 307s. When we bought a second hand car just before Christmas there was a 307 in with the same problems and I shared my experiences with the garage. I wouldn't like to suggest anyone does not...

Peugeut 206cc 2.0 - The drive of your life??

Advantages: The roof - excellent on sunny days
Disadvantages: Leaks

...I have owned my Peugeot 206cc 2.0 for eighteen months and so i've had plenty of time to get to know my car. Before i had a 1litre Volkswagen Polo, so i wanted something a bit more stylish and with a bit of a kick. The Peugeot 206cc has delivered that. I started looking for a new car, knowing i wanted a convertable and so i was looking for something attractive and modern but at a decent price. After looking at cars matching my criteria, i found the Peugeot 206cc was a step ahead of the rest of the field. So i now had to pick my model. I got the 2.0 litre model as i wanted to experience a new form of power. This i got. The car does 0-60 in just over 9 seconds, which is quick enough for any normal day to day driver. My 2.0litre model had the full works; air con, leather seats, power steering, c.d. player etc... and i'd recomend...

I fell in love with a C5 2.0 HDi hatchback!

Advantages: comfort, style, economy, space
Disadvantages: not a nippy speedy car

...against stone damage as the lights would be expensive to replace, Our C5 has a diesel 110bhp 1997cc engine. It is not a fast car but it is very economical. It's natural cruising speed seems to be 70-80 mph whereas it was hard to restrain the 307 from 90 mph but for our needs that is absolutely fine. It doesn't seem to lose speed on hills even with a load on it. It is also very economical on fuel - I would think it does about 50 to the gallon. If you want a speedier version of the C5 you would need to look out for the 2.2 HDi version but then I'm not sure if you would get the same fuel economy. I find it really easy to drive. The handbrake seems in a strange place - at least different to what I have been used to - it is a bit off centre towards the drivers seat but you quickly get used to it. It is a big car and seems too big...

Review of Citroen C5 2.0 HDi 16v Hatchback

Oh yes its the great pretender

Advantages: Diesels go on forever
Disadvantages: Its a Diesel

..., the resulting 205 D Turbo was the closest you could get to a 'diesel 205 GTi'. They used this in the highly successful 306 too. The 206, spiritual successor to the 205, has also had the BIG DIESEL treatment. When it was launched late in 1998, it was offered with only a 1.9-litre 70bhp normally-aspirated diesel which delivered excellent economy, around 50mpg . The problem was it was DOG SLOW! 0-60mph acceleration took 16.1 seconds and top speed of 100mph . Hence the need for a faster diesel, satisfied by the 2.0-litre HDi engine. The sporty D Turbo variant is a relly good car, but the same powerplant is also offered on a range of other three and five-door 206 models. This is the same 90bhp high pressure direct injection engine also used to good effect in the 306 and 406. Thus equipped, a 206 HDi D Turbo has a matching performance to to rival...

Peugeot 206cc 2.0

Advantages: Nice car, delight to drive, fun
Disadvantages: boot mesh has to be engaged

...My first surprise was a dealer let a 17 year old that passed his test 2 weeks ago, drive an 05 plate 2.0 litre Peugeot 206cc. Given I look older, and he didn't check the date of birth on my license, but I am glad as it really was a delight to drive. Room in the back is hugely limited, although for short journeys it would be acceptable, especially considering the type of car. The 2.0litre engine provides a nice amount of power and its a nice nippy car, comfortably leather seats, the roof reclines easily (although I will admit this is the first convertible I have ever been in so it may have been easy or hard compared to others). The one disappointment with the car with regards to the roof, is, in the boot there is a wire mesh which needs to be pulled across the boot (obviously to protect luggage) but if this is not pulled across...

Fun to Drive French Beauty

Advantages: Fun to drive. Youthful appeal. Economical
Disadvantages: Pricey

...Following the great success of the Peugeot 206 series, the French auto manufacturer launched the 206 HDi in mid 1998,and this diesel powered compact hatchback has already achieved enormous popularity in its home country. In excess of half a million units have been sold in France alone and last year sales in that market totalled some 160,000 units. The 206 HDi has also been exported to UK and to other markets around the world. There is no doubt this model has a very youthful appeal and comes across as a fun to drive compact, stylish, elegant with great appeal to the younger set. What arguably lends itself to its popularity is the 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine that the French manufacturer had origibally introduced in the midrange 306 and some executive versions of the 406. The HDi 4-cylinder diesel-coded DW10 TD-features a single...

307 SW 2.0 HDI

Advantages: Lots of toys, the SW version I have has a nice sun roof
Disadvantages: economy, falling to bits

...( the windscreen wipers do not wipe the whole screen) , is falling apart ( more on this to follow ) , is serviced by a dealer who seems to have been trained by peugeot to give the galic shrug in responce to all problems. So you really get the idea that i hate this car with a passion shown by Basil Faulty when he beats his austin with a branch, you are right , thus far this is what has happend to it in 2 years of driving ( 44000 miles ) Wiper motor burns out, and takes out wiring loom New battery fitted entire underside falls off on M6 Knocking suspension changed CD changer jams ( once whilst listening to killing jokes.. Laugh I nearly bought one ) MPG falls to a all time low of 32.5 drivers seat tears ( changed after 5 weeks of a piece of metal sticking in my leg) Fails to start 4 times ( RAC comes out ) Radio control stem...
