Advantages: Well balanced, good quality images, great dial wheel Disadvantages: Small screen size, dust on the sensor
...This was my first Digital SLR(single lens reflex) the Canon 20D. I had previously owned a Nikon and with good recommendations from my friends I decided to switch to Canon.
The camera is very well built with strong controls and buttons. Surprisingly it is not heavy which helps balance out the camera nicely.
The menu functions are very easy to use with simple sections with the help of the dial wheel.
The dial wheel is a my favourite feature on this camera. It allows you to move easily through the menu and importantly through your photographs. You can navigate through your captured photographs with the slight turn of the dial wheel and it was this featured that interested me towards this camera.
The pop up flash is useful in dim light situations and can be manually adjusted for brightness in manual mode.
I would say there are a few...

Review of Canon EOS 20D
Advantages: Image Quality, Feel and Ergonomics Disadvantages: Size and weight (but not bad for a D-SLR)
...The Canon 20D is the fourth DSLR of the xxD line by Canon, which now contains 6 cameras. In my opinion the 20D is one of the best, for a number of reasons. The 8mp sensor allows prints to be made at A3 size or more, while reducing noise in the images. It also features a Magnesium Alloy body which feels very solid, and adds to the impression that this camera is more expensive than it actually is - it can be found very cheaply now from eBay or professional camera dealers. The 5 frames per second is more than enough for shooting action sequences, from children's school sports days to F1 and airshows. The images the 20D produces are of very high quality, with comparitavely low noise at high ISO presenting perfectly useable shots up to ISO 800. Battery life is impressive, but can be improved by using the optional BG-E2 battery grip, which...

Review of Canon EOS 20D
Advantages: Semi-pro dSLR camera, fast AF, good control of Creative Zones Disadvantages: None that I've found yet
...Canon have once again come good with the semi-pro EOS 20D digital SLR camera.
I upgraded to the 20D after having a 300D for the past 12 months. Immediately you can feel the better build quality, the magnesium body is more rugged than the plastic 300D body, and the lens mount is more positive when attaching lenses.
I photograph a lot of motor sports, and where this camera really comes into it's own is in the speed of the AF mechanism with it's 9-point focusing, the shutter speed (up to 5 shots per second) the size of the internal buffer (no more waiting around for the buffer to clear before taking more shots) and the very short power-up time (no more missed shots waiting for the camera to power-up). One big benefit over and above the 300D is a ability to use AI Servo in all of the creative modes.
The power of the dSLR camera...

Review of Panasonic DMRES20D
Advantages: good quality pictures, noticable difference Disadvantages: expensive hobby!
...put the image stablilizer on which does help a lot when taking any kind of picture especially if you are prone to shaky hands (i am sometimes!)
I would recommend the basic lens to begin with, the 17-85, as it covers a reasonable range of distances, but for those real close ups you need the more expensive lenses, but i guarantee it is worth it, my partner has seen a picture of a tiny insect on the back of a bumblebee taken with the 70-300 lens, and we are saving for one at the moment.
This camera is suitable for both beginners, amateurs and people who are beginning professional photography.
It is lightweight, quite hardy, the casing is metal unlike the 350D which is plastic, so stands up to quite a bit, is safe in the rain, and takes astounding pictures at 8MP its much better than your average digital camera, and I would recommend...

Review of Canon EOS 20D
Advantages: Full frame sensor, very high resolution, excellent operation Disadvantages: Costs double the price of a 30D, hidden extra costs
...I owned a 20D before this and so my view is relative to that camera. The 5D feels very much like the 20D and 30D in that it is pretty much the same size and operationally very similar except for not having any kind of built-in flash.
Pro users argue that not having the pop-up flash is not a disadvantage because nobody would seriously use such a weak flash but I miss not having it on the 5D. While the flash on the 20D is indeed very weak (GN12), it often found use for quick, last resort use when there wasn't time to dig out the "proper" flash unit. It also serves a more important function as a AF assist light in very dark situations. Admittedly, having the flash pulse rapidly to allow the AF to "see" in the dark can be disturbing to subjects but it's better than having an out of focus picture. Without the built-in flash or any...

Review of Canon EOS 5D
...the brochure markets it as a "Crossover" vehicle; "Comfortable in any landscape", I see it as the perfect tool for the modern day James Herriott i.e. a country vet.
WHICH SPECIFIC MODEL?
A very good question that! The Subaru Outback 2.0D, or Boxer Diesel according to the badge on the back, reviewed here is, along with its Sport Tourer (conventional Estate) sister, a genuine "world first".
In order to explain this to you, unfortunately I will have to go into a few technical mechanical details, if that side of things bores you, please feel free to skip this section and move onto the next.
For maybe a decade now I have been surprised and disappointed that no car manufacturer has produced a flat four (or six) cylinder "Boxer" configuration diesel engine. Many manufacturers, from Alfa with the Sud, through Porsche with the classic 911 six...
Advantages: Excellent build quality, fantastic photos Disadvantages: none to write about
...Having been an owner of the Canon 10D for over a year, common sense was thrown out of the window... I sold the 10D and bought the 20D and haven't looked back!
Firstly, price: in Sept of 2004, I bought this from Jessops for £1000 (Body only). Even now, that's still a good price!
When you first take the 20D out of it's box, the first thing you notice is the feel of it. It feels chunky but also feels well built, unlike the 300/ 350D, it's cheaper cousins. The semi metal body and the rubberiused grip feel great, and it's obvious canon have spent time placing all the buttons in the right place. Everything falls to hand, and you don't have to take your eye away from the camera to know what you are doing!
Speaking of which, the view finder. I have used cameras with brighter view finders, but, to be honest, it doesn't really matter as...
