...With all the Home Theatre products available on the market, it was not easy to decide on which product to buy. The first task undertaken was to get acquainted with the terms and functions available in such systems. Then came the visiting of HiFi centres and checking out several different brands of Home Theatre systems. THE SC-HT25R Finally I came across the Panasonic SC-HT25R. The crispness and quality of the sound was so above the rest that I almost decided on what to buy on the spot. However, there were some other units that I had to check out first. ...full budget towards the sound end of things. I am not sorry I did as this Home Theatre kit really packs a punch. In order to fully appreciate the system your DVD player must have an optical output .. the Sony can actually take input from 2 optical devices. Surround sound is fully configurable according to the position of your speakers and the sub-woofer and, although this took some working out, allows you to get the most from the system. For normal TV and video viewing I find that the Dolby Pro Logic II gives a pretty reasonable effect with the focus of sound from the centre but an extra dimension from the satellite speakers. There are a number of preset modes which allow some quite radical changes to the sound although these are fairly weird and wonderful. Advantages: A tiny blast

...Home cinema sytem. This is a micro system new from Sony. Previously I used Technics SA-DX930 maxi system and I would like to contrast the two. The main point is that the micro system outshines and outperforms the maxi system but with the advantage of having tiny speakers that don't clutter my living room. The Sony is a new addition to the Sony range It has all the Digital channels pumped out in a bewildering choice of sound effects at 25W+25W output. Each channel is 25W including the central speaker. It features 2channel, Dolby urround, AFD (a new feature allowing the DVD player or Digibox to choose the surround feature - you hear the sound as the director wanted you to), 6 channel digital sound and a number of equaliser presets as well as an adjustable equaliser for your own choices. Advantages: cheap to buy, so smooth
Disadvantages: reliability, few pattern parts, fuel consumption

.... Another 100 quid to diagnose and replace the coil pack, and the two HT leads. Since then however, its been great. The autobox shifts smoothly, the engine is smooth, it doesn't drink oil, and I only have to get it serviced every 10k miles. Chain driven cams, so I use synthetic oil and do my oil oil change at 5k in between the services. The ride quality is supreme, better than my old merc 190E or bmw 320i E30. Toys. Its stuffed with them. Heated electric leather seats, CD changer, lots of speakers, climate control, switchable autobox, trip computer, auto dimming mirror, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, and probably more that I forget. The only things its missing are a parking sensor and sat nav. It has all the toys you get on a modern merc, and at 9 years old they still work. It is ugly, it returns 25 to the gallon, and wear... Advantages: Great picture, nice and loud but doesnt lose the crispness and beautifully designed!
Disadvantages: Goes wll with samsung tele's, maybe not so with other manufacturers

..., it truly is a beast! The system has all the functions you could want, allowing individual speaker volume control and sound time delay so the sound hits your ears from all sides at the right time. I have this hooked up to my Samsung 556, the DVD player has 1080p upscaling which produces an image to rival that of most blue ray players! It also has samsungs new automatic link up function which means only one controller is needed, when you turn the DVD player on, the tv automatically switches on and goes to the correct channel, although i believe you need a HDMI cable for this, although these arent too expensive if you browse, a £25 one from amazon/play is sufficient. It also has a USB socket to allow for pictures/music or whatever else to be played through it, the USB is nicely hidden away behind a little plastic flap, neat! Overall produces... Read review

...I started looking for a laptop/notebook months ago and i've searched hundreds of web sites for a laptop that is both functional and great looking and the Samsung V25 is the only one i could find! I purchased this laptop from Comet just a few days for a penny short of £1,000 and at the time i was very unsure whether it could really do what i want or not. When i got the laptop home i first discovered i had far more software than the store had advertised and the day before i went down to buy it i was under the impression that it only had a DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive but some advertisement came through for it which also states it has a DVD-RW drive (combo) so i was very impressed. The speed of the laptop is excellent, its an Intel Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz and to me its just as fast as a Intel P4 3.06 Ghz PC with HT that i have recently helped to built... Read review

...AFTER HOURS OF CUTTING MY NEVER ENDING HEDGES WITH SHEARS, I DECIDED TO PURCHASE A HEDGE CUTTER, WITH NO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THEM, I DECIDED TO GO FOR THE HT400 MODEL, IT WAS MIDDLE OF THE PRICE RANGE AND WHEN COMPARED TO THE DESCIPTION OF OTHER MAKES I THOUGHT THAT IT MADE SENSE TO CHOOSE THIS ONE. I DID FIND IT REASONABLY LIGHT, LOTS OF FLEX, WHICH I NEEDED!, REASONABLY POWERFUL AND IT DEFINATELY DID THE JOB. HOWEVER THIS YEAR WHEN I USED IT THE MOTOR SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS STRUGGLING AND THE HANDLE SNAPPED CLEAN OFF, UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME IT WAS JUST OUT OF GUARANTEE. I AM LOOKING TO BUY ANOTHER ONE, BUT I THINK I WILL GO FOR A PETROL MODEL. I AM NOT WRITING OFF THIS MODEL I DON'T THINK IT WAS THE ONE FOR ME.... Read review

..., Mutilated Notes Department, Bank of England, Department MN, Kings Street, Leeds, LS1 1HT. Scottish or Irish notes must be returned to the relevant banks as the address I have supplied only accepts English notes. After two weeks I received a letter stating the notes were genuine but they would need to hold the notes for the next three months to ensure no other claim had been made. After three months I did in fact receive a cheque for £60. If you ruin a bank note in the future it may interest you to know that the remaining note parts must make up at least half of the original note even if the parts are in tiny pieces. The sentence I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of. must still exist. At least one third of the cashier's signature must be on the note. ...After getting my DVD player the next step was a Dolby Digital amp, but as I shopped around I found they were around £400 and that didn't include speakers. So I opened up the Littlewoods catalogue and found the 'Sony HT-BE1 Home Theater System' for £299.99 which include speakers, so what the hell I'll give it a try! When the system arrived I wasn't that sure the speakers are really tiny, but after I pluged it up to my DVD player with the Digital Coaxial surplied my breath was taken away. The small satellite speakers are pure little power blasters, there is no crackle from the speakers the sound quality is superb they pick up the slightest sound from the DVD's. The HT-BE1 has a subwoofer built into the amp unit, it produces a rumble that will make the floor shake when watching films like 'Pearl Harbor'. Surfice to say this little unit... Read review
