ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 256mb

Advantages: High power (ish), pretty cheap
Disadvantages: heat

The card isn't too power hungry, it works fine on my 350W power supply that was supplied with my budget pc (£235 but powerful nevertheless) So far you'd think this card was a really great buy. and don't get me wrong, i love it. but unfortunately i didn't realise you could buy an ATI radeon 9550 with 256Mb RAM and a nearly identical performance for cheaper. It can easily be overclocked with no extra cooling to outperform my 9600 pro, and i've been slated a few times off computer geeks for not knowing this before. If i were you, i'd definately buy this if you're looking for a cheap but powerful graphics card to work on graphics processing / CAD, but also if you're a light-medium gamer who isn't too serious, although seriously consider the 9550 before you go ahead and buy a 9600. ...So here we have it ladies and gents, a graphics card that would rock your wok, own up your games and make that smug look on your mate's face vanish like somebody kick him between the legs. You will get all this, for a price of course. This card comes with everything standard that other Radeon cards come with such as AGP 8x support, 2 monitor ports, 1 S-Video port and a massive heatsink/fan with it's name on it. Installation is a sinch. Just open up PC, remove old graphics card, slide this graphics into it's place, screw it in and it's installed. Hard part would be wondering if you should upgrade the RAM and/or CPU in case it's a bottleneck. The Creative ATI Radeon 9800 XT is a very fast graphics card. ...this is a nice little mp3 player which has excellent sound quality. 256mb hold around 70 songs for me but you can also use it to hold documents so you can transfer them from computer to computer its quite wide when you put it in a usb socket you cant put anything in the socket next to it but it dose come with a small uysb extension cable to get around this. you really want front or side facing usb sockets to be able to easily plug this in. it not very durable once i had it plugged in and i knocked it with my knee and it bent the usb and the casing came undone luckily i staigtened the usb and with a bit of pressure it came back together and was working perfectly and my songs still there. features: mp3 player- great quality songs player holds upto 70 songs recording can record in greatquality for upto 36 secongs...

Perhaps the main one is the capacity. ---------CAPACITY-------- Unfortunatly the capactiy is only 256mb, and flash based drives go up to 2GB or perhaps even 4GB now. As this is only 256mb you can fit around 30 songs on it in normal quality 128kbps, but if you compress them you can get around 80 on there. I have to warn you though, compressed songs played back on this player sound terrible. You really notice the difference in quality. ----------USB 1.1---------- Unfortunatly. the player is USB 1.1, this means that its 40x slower than that of USB 2, so if you're transfering 256mb of data in one go, go away, make a cup of tea and come back, if you're lucky it might be done. ...I have personally purchased one of the flash drives as I am an IT student and i need to transfer a lot of data. First of all, these memory sticks are very lightweight and really small. It includes a split ring which is on the stick which can be attached to any keyring to prevent losing it. This specific flash drive has 256MB of memory space on it. This is quite a substantial amount if you are going to hold files, folders and small graphics on it. It is very fast at transferring files, there is hardly any need to wait around. It is nearly an instant transfer. I wouldn't recommend this flash drive for anyone that was going to use it for very large graphical files and to hold lots of music files. Music files are very large and this flash drive is likely to hold around 2-3 albums worth. That is what i have found from my own...
