Advantages: very easy to use
Disadvantages: uses batterys quickly

...this is a nice little mp3 player which has excellent sound quality. 256mb hold around 70 songs for me but you can also use it to hold documents so you can transfer them from computer to computer its quite wide when you put it in a usb socket you cant put anything in the socket next to it but it dose come with a small uysb extension cable to get around this. you really want front or side facing usb sockets to be able to easily plug this in. it not very durable once i had it plugged in and i knocked it with my knee and it bent the usb and the casing came undone luckily i staigtened the usb and with a bit of pressure it came back together and was working perfectly and my songs still there. features: mp3 player- great quality songs player holds upto 70 songs recording can record in greatquality for upto 36 secongs...

Perhaps the main one is the capacity. ---------CAPACITY-------- Unfortunatly the capactiy is only 256mb, and flash based drives go up to 2GB or perhaps even 4GB now. As this is only 256mb you can fit around 30 songs on it in normal quality 128kbps, but if you compress them you can get around 80 on there. I have to warn you though, compressed songs played back on this player sound terrible. You really notice the difference in quality. ----------USB 1.1---------- Unfortunatly. the player is USB 1.1, this means that its 40x slower than that of USB 2, so if you're transfering 256mb of data in one go, go away, make a cup of tea and come back, if you're lucky it might be done. Easy Data Storage

...a little white cap which when removed reveals the USB plug. You just plug it into a USB port and send to it whatever information you want (it usually comes up as a "Removable Disk" in your explorer). You know its working as a little light flashes on it during data transfer. Some flash drives require software installation but if you have Windows XP then this one doesn't which makes it quick and easy to use. The downside to this is that there is no security and if you lost the flash drive then anyone could access your documents. The one I have is the 256mb version but you can get them in all kinds of memory size (from 128mb to a wopping 4gb). I can't say how much the one I have cost as it was supplied by the company but from my research they appear to cost around £5 upwards depending on the memory size. They are readily available...

Now, as with many other models my camera came with only 16mb of in-built memory, and I was finding that the larger quality and resolution images just ate all of it up in one go, with me only being able to store 20 of the highest resolution pictures, and a pitiful 3 minutes of video. Obviously, an expansion card had to be the solution. Ever short of cash, I immediately hit the price comparison engines searching for the cheapest deal. My view was that with such an un-complicated and simple thing, going for the cheapest one shouldn?t have had much affect on quality. It includes a split ring which is on the stick which can be attached to any keyring to prevent losing it. This specific flash drive has 256MB of memory space on it. This is quite a substantial amount if you are going to hold files, folders and small graphics on it. It is very fast at transferring files, there is hardly any need to wait around. It is nearly an instant transfer. I wouldn't recommend this flash drive for anyone that was going to use it for very large graphical files and to hold lots of music files. I have used Kingston many times and never experienced any problems what-so-ever. You can purchase this stick for around 35£ from a place such as ebuyer. It just shows that it is kind of outdated as it has dropped from the 65£ or so it was when it was originally developed! This stick of RAM I would not recommend if you are a gamer as Kingston offers a bit more than 266MHZ (the speed it is rated for) in some of its newer sticks. The 256mb Data Traveler comes in a card backed plastic blister pack, which contains the stick itself, a large sheet of paper outlining the terms of the lifetime warranty in various languages and a small carrying strap. It measures 6.5cm long by 2cm wide (not the smallest flash drive at this capacity, but not so large to be obtrusive in use). Drivers are not required for Windows 2000 or XP and are available for download from the Kingston website for Windows 98. Is It Any Good? Short answer-yes.
