Advantages: Enjoyable, very romantic, an easy watch

...I've been wanting to see 27 Dresses for quite a long time, but have felt a bit put off by the mixed reviews I have read and heard about it. But I do love the romantic movie genre so I was quite sure I would actually like this film, so last night I persuaded my fiance to sit down and watch it with me. He wasn't overly keen on seeing it but I think we're both glad that we gave it a go! 27 Dresses tells the story of Jane Nichols, the woman who seems always to be the bridesmaid and never the bride. Jane has been a bridesmaid for 27 of her friends, wearing some truly awful dresses, and works hard for her boss George at a magazine. Jane's sister Tess reappears wite news of her own, causing Jane to re-evaluate her love life with a little help from newspaper columnist Kevin... I thought this movie was going to be incredibly soppy...

DVD S-27 the best a man can get

Advantages: looks good, great picture and sound playback, slimmline, easy to use
Disadvantages: no obvious disadvantages

...I have owned my Panasonic DVD S-27 now since late 2004 after a number of magazines rated it as a good quality entry level player and I liked the design and range of features it offered for what was at the time a reasonable price (£149.99). Being rather slimline for DVD players of its time, the front loading unit is only 5.5cm high and 43cm in width, which meant that it could sit on top of my TV within the cabinet without blocking the remote control sensors. I was mightily pleased with the performance, picture quality and sound that came when playing DVDs through the S-27 but my enjoyment was multiplied when I upgraded my TV to a Plasma LCD with surround sound. At the recommendation of a friend from work I tried running DVD's through my XBOX 360 as he had mentioned the picture quality to be much better than his own DVD player...

...27 Dresses is a 2008 romantic comedy, starring Katherine Heigl and James Marsden, and was directed by Anne Fletcher. Jane has always been the bridesmaid and never the bride, she?s obsessed with weddings and has in fact been a bridesmaid 27 times, hence the title of the film. When she?s attending two different weddings on the same night, she bumps into Kevin, a cynic who manages to write the most romantic weddings at the same time. At the same time, she?s hopelessly in love with her boss, then her sister arrives back in town and somehow is engaged to her boss within the month. Jane is shocked, how will she ever win over George now? And how will things go with Kevin? What will her 28th dress be? The cast is good, but nothing special. Katherine Heigl plays Jane, the main character in the film who?s looking for love but finds it somewhere...

...I watched this film last night after renting it from Lovefilm.com. A number of people I knew who had seen it had suggested that it was very funny and worth watching, so I thought I would get in on the act ans see what all the fuss was about. 27 Dresses is a romantic comedy which is directed by Anne Fletcher and written by Aline Brosh McKenna. Mckenna was also screenwriter for the Devil Wears Prada, which led me to expect an equally good film in 27 Dresses. The film has a 12A rating and was released in January 2008. SDR S26

...Having been stuck with a busted camcorder on the morning on an important family visit, I dashed to a major electrical store to source a replacement, stumbled across this camera, researched the others on display and chose the S26 for ease of use, merit for the make (I bought Lumix TZ5 and have been really pleased with it, quality, capabilities etc, great lens) and general feel for the camera. in my opinion, X70 zoom works very well, resolution excellent for an "older" user and their "junior" assistants. I think that Transfer speed is not rapid, but "so what" in a camera at this price point. Very happy to recommend for general everyday trouble free use. BUT buy it on line for £60 less than the big stores and be even more satisfied that I am Ron...

...The Fuji FinePix S1500 is the latest incarnation of the very successful FinePix S1000fd. It is very SLR-like in appearance and the added bulk of the battery-holder/grip does give it an assured feeling in your hands. Of course, this can be a disadvantage, and if you want a camera that you can just slip in-and-out of your pocket, then maybe a slimmer compact should be considered. The 12x optical zoom is excellent and it equates to 33-396mm in 35mm terms - and if this isn't enough, there is a 5.7x digital zoom feature too. The menus are friendly and easy to navigate, and there are helpful explanatory prompts that appear on thew LCD screen when the mode-dial setting is changed. BUSH 27" WIDESCREEN LCD TV

The only trouble was, that being end of line meant that you could not order it for delivery, so I did a search of all my local stores until I found one and we reserved it for collection the next day. My husband came home with the tv, we unpacked it and installed it so easily, it was a dream. The Techinical description of this television in the Argos catalogue is Bush LCD27TV005 27in Widescreen LCD TV. The Argos order number is: 529/2150 and we paid £399.99. From what I have read online, this television was retailing at around £600 originially, but at the moment, all of the LCD televisions seem to be 26 or 30/32 inches, so it looks like they are phasing out the 27" ones.
