...effects are also well thought out and not too 'tacky' at all, (unlike in some similar movie such as Dawn of the dead and the like)? In all a great horror with a great story, in fact, one of the best I've seen in a long while, considering the amount of similar movies on the market.. It is one of those all action horrors with a very fast tempo. *Would I recommend this?? Most definitely I would? it is a fast action packed movie with plenty of thrills to keep you awake on a dreary night? You can get a copy at www.amazon.co.uk for less than a fiver (or even buy this and the sequel '28 weeks later' {which is another good watch}, for an extra quid?)...

Advantages: Differant ending and can be quite imaginative in places

...Ok, so im writing this review just because I can and im slightly bored with nothing else to review (yet). Set on the island of great Britain, this post apocolyptic survival horror wass directed by Danny Boyle and released 2002 and spawned the sequel 28 weeks later in 2007. The film is about a virus that rapidly spreads through Britain with in 28 days (coincidence?ï??) The story begins with a group of British Animal rights activists breaking into and animal research centre to release captive chimpanzees but are warned by a worker that they are infected by some thing he refers to as ?rage? but as you could get they release the chimp which subsequently attacks and infects the people which of course then break out and infect the rest of the population. Advantages: Brilliant direction, photography, music, and acting.
Disadvantages: Pretty gory!

...◘► Released in 2007 under the Science Fiction/Horror Genre. 28 Weeks Later is a higher budget, post apocalyptic sequel to the International film success of 28 Days Later which was released in 2002. 28 Weeks Later picks up where the last story left off. ..."28 years later" by Danny Boyle Most definitely, this is a scariest film seen recently. Something meant to become a cult film. A proven Danny Boyle’s geniality…."It will have you on the edge of your seat"…." So real, so possible, so simple...so Boyle this is. Clear and simple, scary and upsetting. Most definitely there are different kind of horrors. The sort of ‘Scream’ horrors and the second kind more warning kind about catastrophes, on things that actually can happen if we are not very careful. With horrors such "28 days later" we are always more careful because it suppose the reality that might happen. However, I think that this is sort of female horror. Advantages: scary

...and explain the horrific events of the previous weeks. The scene where these events are described contains some mildly jaded dialogue, but in a post `George A Romero, Omega Man, Night of The Comet, Day of the Triffids, The Quiet Earth' culture this is forgivable. Hopefully viewers will look sympathetically upon anything they see as reminiscent of other genre films as Garland and Boyle paying homage to their predecessors. Fortunately the performances, from a cast of relatively unknown actors, along with that of Brendon Gleeson (Gangs Of New York) and Christopher Eccleston (Gone in Sixty Seconds) are impressive enough to make up for any scenes where the action or the dialogue looks or sounds to be slightly hackneyed. Produced to a reported budget of £15m, 28 Days Later is an ambitious effort, which in the main succeeds especially in the opening...

28 heart attacks later

Advantages: A brilliant blend of science fiction and horror
Disadvantages: slightly incredulous story line at times

...I'm not usually a great fan of horror. I suppose I also feel a bit of an interloper because I don't actually own the DVD of 28 days later ( at least not yet ). I do however intend to scour e-bay for it in the next few days. But having just seen this film on film 4 last night, I was staggered at how good it was. The basic plot is not hugely original. Nasty virus sweeping the country has been attempted a number of times before. In fact I vaguely remember a bit of a series on the BBC that had 1 or 2 survivors driving around the UK trying to avoid a massive epidemic. But 28days later whilst not being amazingly original in the basic concept, manages to execute it in a way that I think borders on the brilliant. The plot is simple. How do the 28 Days/Weeks Later movies fare in high definition?

Advantages: Two excellent horror movies, good value for money as far as Blu Rays go
Disadvantages: 28 Days Later looks the same as the DVD version in high definition, no exclusive Blu Ray extras

...For some time now it has been official that Blu Ray has won the high definition format war against HD-DVD, and as such is currently on a mission to replace all the DVDs in our meticulously constructed collections, much like DVDs did to VHS a while ago. However, at this moment in time Blu Ray is still being ignored by most, and even for those who are making the transition it is still an expensive format. Advantages: Brilliant special effects, nail-biting action and jumpy bits!
Disadvantages: The characters of the children are a little dull...

...'d NEVER actually sat and watched one!! Lol! But i was literally captivated by 28 days later. The eerie sight of London completely empty grabbed me straight away, and the action really started quickly and swept you along with it at the same time. I couldn't wait to see 28 weeks later when i heard about it, especially to find out what had happened to London and the rest of the country. And it is this fact that makes me a little ashamed to admit that it was actually only yesterday that i went out and rented it!!! *lowers head* Now, i've had a brief glance at a few other of the reviews, and they don't seem to be really enthusiastic about this follow up to 28 days later, but i absolutely loved it, and was once again totally captivated and taken right into the zombie-infested world that was playing before me on the screen.
