PS3 slim

Advantages: Blu-ray, free online, nice extras like vidzone & iplayer. Almost silent operation
Disadvantages: Rubbish controller, still expensive, online nowhere near as good as xbox live

...Well, had the slim for a few weeks now (my 1st ever playstation), personally, I'm a little underwhelmed by it, I've been a gamer since the nintendo game & watch days & owned @ least 1 of the current gen consoles since the Mega Drive(Genesis). Graphically the system has the potential to wipe the floor with the 360, but this is really only going to apply to PS3 exclusives as any software house making a multi-platform game is going to be as cost effective (lazy) as possible & use the same graphics on all the games where possible(ok, they need to dumb them down for the Wii). My problem here is that I have yet to get a game for it that runs in 1080P, they all seem to be in 720P! Why???? I'm sure they are out there, but I haven't found one yet. I guess this is down to most HD tv's being HD ready rather than Full HD. Sound-Yeah, ok...

Memories of Marisa Monte

Advantages: Sumptuous arrangments and the voice of Marisa Monte.
Disadvantages: 'Rose & Charcoal' is a better album.

...on the album is 'Sou Seu Sabia' - a Caetano Veloso ballad that brings the album to a dreamy close. Although it won the 2001 Latin Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Pop Album, 'Memories, Chronicles and Declarations of Love' is probably not Marisa Monte's strongest album. It doesn't quite reach the heights of the 'Rose & Charcoal (Verde Anil Amarelo Cor De Rosa E Carvão)' album released in 1994 and I certainly wouldn't go as far as some reviewers in describing this album as the "Pet Sounds" of Brazilian pop. Nevertheless, Marisa's suave expressive vocal combined with sumptuous accomplished musical arrangements and neat production by guitarist Arto Lindsay makes this an album very much worth listening to in any location. PS3 Full of stuff

Advantages: great selection of accessories, games, films, music
Disadvantages: bit pricey

...The 60gb version is a bit on the expensive side, I'm not sure if there's a separate hard drive available but if there is I'm sure it won't cost over £150, which is how much more this version costs over the 30gb version. The graphics are the best of any console out, the games can also be much much bigger than Xbox 360 as it uses high def blue ray disks where the 360 uses standard dvds for its games. There's a massive array of accessories and 3rd party companies are making even more as it's usb connected. There's no need for memory cards because of the huge hard drive, online gaming is quick and easy as it's very easy to connect to your normal broadband connector. The console itself is a little bigger than i would have liked but no inch is wasted, it's packed full of features. I've had mine 4 months and I'm still finding new...

Advantages: Vegan. No Artificial colours, preservatives, flavours or sweeteners. Only 78 calories per lolly. 100% RDA for Vit 'C'.
Disadvantages: Only sold in boxes of 4, so not available individually.

There's no mention of any 'E' numbers at all, and we're informed that these lollies are made with 75% pineapple juice from concentrate. PS3 Sixaxis Controller

Advantages: Battery Life / Charge Times ; Nice Size

...I don't think there's that much that can be said about this specific product...it's a controller. However, I'll give an account of my experiences of this controller over the past two years. I got two of these sixaxis controllers free with my PS3 so was able to rotate between using one and charging the other, hopefully allowing me to prolong the usability of the contollers. Unfortunately, after about a year and a half ( and many hours of use, 200+ ) the left analogue stick on both controllers began to squeak and stick. I'm pretty sure the analogue bashing involved in Beijing Olympics contributed highly to this. PS3 Console

Advantages: Amazing graphics and gaming capabilities, looks great
Disadvantages: quite a high price

...I don't need to write much to review the PS3 (although I will...), it can be described with one word : amazing Ill be reviewing the 60gb version that is available in the UK. (the technical specification, from the US sony website, are at the bottom) The console looks superb, it is quite large but has a shiny black body and a sleek silver finish, the body is curved slightly and really looks good. However the body does easily attract dust and scratches so you will need to clean it regularly. The "PS" logo on the front (above the disk drive) can be rotated so that t is the right way up whether the console is horizontal or vertical. The disk slot is much better than the old sliding trays on the PS2's, makes the console look better and probably won't break as easily! The on/off and eject buttons are touch sensitive and this takes a while...
