...Three.co.uk have very competitive phone plans & tariff against other networks plus Skype and Internet they offer; however, reception (signal) - network coverage of 3 is absolutely unacceptable, yet extremely poor. I won't mind this much until their customer services are the worst I have ever been through and I couldn?t stress it less. Every time I enter a building, that means it will lost connection or very poor reception, even at my home if I close the windows. When I want to make phone call, I have to walk out the building or find an empty room that having large opened windows. 3 Three Mobile, Very poor coverage, useless customer service

Advantages: Try as I might........can't really think of any........no... sorry, nothing!
Disadvantages: worst customer service ever, poor coverage, second-hand handsets

...I have been with 3 for a couple of years now. Generally the network coverage has improved over this time, initially, the signal would disappear regularly, these days it's not as bad, but still not as good as my previous provider Vodafone. Call centres are abroad (yawn), and it can sometimes be difficult to comunicate. The tarrifs used to be considerably cheaper than the other major providers, but these days there is very little difference, and when my contract expires in a few months, I will probably go back to Vodafone. There has been a couple of things that have annoyed me about 3, firstly, when you get a phone upgrade, they never seem to be new phones, but re-furbished ones. It never seems to mention this when you are signing up !!! Secondly, when I have had problems with malfunctioning handsets, 3 insist on you sending the phone...

3 (three) - better at stealing than the banks

Disadvantages: Customer service, rounding up first minute of calls (NOT CHEAP)

...Terrible customer service from people who speak english but can't understand a word you're saying due to accents and bad line quality. Once you are in a contract they don't care what happens, they will charge you for everything and anything, and leaving is practically impossible until your contract has run out. They now round up the first minute, which, due to the fact I make a slot of calls that go through to answering machines or are short, my bill went up from £20 to £70 in the space of one month. Apparently they sent a letter... I am absolutely livid and have sent my '1 month mandatory notice' whatever that is. I was with them for 5 years and this is how they treat me, imagine how they will treat you. DO NOT GET A 3 CONTRACT!!...

Three - makes you want to flee.

Advantages: Reasonably cheap, like their service.
Disadvantages: Bad customer service, terrible reception, head-poundingly nauseating shop layout, the list goes on

...I don't think I have ever experienced customer service more painful than the service I had with 3. I refer especially to the mobile broadband contract I took out with them in 2008. I went into their shop to almost immediately become accosted by a member of their staff, who began by rather politely asking me what it was I was looking for. I explained to them what it was and at first they were only too happy to help, and within about 20 minutes the deal was done. My problem with them however was afterwards. My broadband worked fine until about 2 weeks into the contract, when all of a sudden, gaining a connection was tantamount to pulling teeth and pot luck, and only declined from thereon. As to be expected, I went to the shop, and as they always seem to do, palmed it off on customer services (a premium rate line) and not through 3 as...

Three's mobile broadband

Advantages: no contracts
Disadvantages: not as fast as many non dongle internet

...I recenly purchased a pay as you go dongle from three, which enabled me to get mobile broadband. I purchased a 3GB allowance top up that cost me 15 GBP. All top ups last for 30 days. I purchased mine on 01/09/09 and it expired 30/09/09. I spend about 4 hours a day on the internet, I do not download any music but frequently watch videos on sites such as youtube.com. I did not run out of top up and found the speed to be quite fast and connection to be quite good. Customer service is great as you can speak to someone by calling the three customer service number if you have any problems, which is an 078 number (so cost the same as a mobile number and not the dreaded 0845 or 0870 number) and the staff are extremely useful. There are no contracts, credit checks or anything like that and work just like topping up a mobile phone....

You weigh up your options when you put the phone down and none of it was worth it. We brought yet another 3 mobile phone from ebay and picked it up the same day. Month 16 of our contract all going well, not had to contact three customer services and I am relieved, all bills seem to be present and correct and all in all we are happy with our service provider. My lovely nokia stops working. Oh it is late Saturday night. The phone is less than 12 months old , however I am fully aware I am not covered by three as I brought the phone from ebay. I look through ebay and all mobile phone shops there is not much choice and you can not buy...

On the 15th day of taking out the contract I received a phone call from 3 in which they informed that there was currently work taking place on my transmitter and that it would be a month until it was finished. Now why was it that they took so long to tell me something that the technical team would have been able to tell me instantly? I'll tell you why I was now one day outside the date for cancellation and now I would need to pay them a £200+ cancellation charge. Three now refused to allow me to cancel my contract to a service that did not work. The company seems to think that they have a deal where you pay them and they give you nothing in return. 3 Mobile 'Broadband'

Advantages: The auto-install works well under both Vista and Linux

...software. And no, my problems weren't resolved. So to the connection/speed issues The dongle allows for connection via 3g (fast) or HSDPA (fastest). Now, prior to the network 'upgrades' HSDPA was indeed fastest, but not quite as realiable as 3g, but not so noticable as to be a real concern. Now however, when Messenger Live disconnects or I get an unconnectable website, I can be 99% (if not 100%) certain, that it's because the dongle switched from 3g to HSDPA. Now I know what you're thinking. Reconnect Messenger or refresh the website, and that's a good theory. But in practice it really isn't that simple. Sitting clicking connect now or pressing F5 for 20 minutes before you give up and decide to remove the dongle, well it gets a bit tiring after the first two or three times you go down that route. I use Virgin personally and am very happy with them considering I bought my phone almost 7 years ago and have never ever had a problem with it or the network coverage. I did consider switching to 3 a year ago when I discovered my partner and I could get very cheap calls to each other, that is until he started having problems with this phone. I forget the exact name and model of my partners phone but it's a clam shell design one made by Sony. He upgraded to this particular model a year into his contract and at first seemed very happy with it.
