Advantages: Lots of space for files, good video and sound quality, easy to use, great design
Disadvantages: The longer you have it the quicker and more charging it needs, can sometimes freeze and need reset

...I am a person who likes variety, and listening to music when walking. When I had my portable cd player, I got annoyed whenever it jogged by the slightest bump and having to lug around several cds so I could change the music when I wanted. That's why I'm so grateful for the iPod. It has a smart, simple and stylish design. It is easy to use and can probably be easily used by most people. It is small but not too small, so it can fit into most pockets or handbags but not be easily lost. The video display is sharp and clear, watching videos on the iPod is always a delight. Advantages: Clear colour, sound quality high, prices dropped from old version
Disadvantages: screen scratches, exterior scratches.

...is excellent because it came with a free screen protector. You only get a USB charger also. If you wish to charge on the go in a wall or in the car then you will need to buy another charger. Also the computer needs to be on for it to charge. OTHER The battery life lasts through at least two films I have found and then some. It is very good considering the screen is brighter than the old version yet the battery lasts longer. A tip to save battery is to have the backlight off when not needed! The headphones are Apple's new and improved. They offer better comfort, sound quality and noise canceling. They work very well and yes they are comfortable. ...For the money this music player is one of the best available, however, there are a few things Apple could have improved over the prior generation models that they didn't. Issue 1: The LCD is too small for normal viewing. This ipod is a "video" model but yet I can buy a PSP for a £40 less, have more of a screen area, and still be able to play games. Keep in mind you won't have 30 gigs of storage, but I have almost 4,000 songs and 10 music videos and still have around 24 gigs lefts. Who really needs that much space? Issue 2: The player uses a menu system that makes it very time consuming to find what you are looking for. Let's say you want to find a song by Kanye West. I can search by Song, Artist, or by letter. APPLE 80GB CLASSIC

Advantages: YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIES AND COMPLETE ALBUM COLLECTION IN YOUR POCKET
Disadvantages: SOUND LEVEL ON MOVIES NOT GREAT

...I bought my Ipod Classic around a month ago to basically be able to carry all my albums round with me at all times and have a couple of my favourite movies to hand if I am ever bored. I used to have an Ipod Nano and thought that 2 GB of memory would be plenty for what I needed but soon found that I couldn't fit no way near half of my albums on there and had to cherry pick my favourite songs due to there being not enough space available. Now having 80GB it's surprising how much you can actually fit on it. I currently have around 15 movies, a season of lost and over a 100 albums and am still well under 30GB. It's unbelievable. Unless you would like to put all your movie collection on to your Ipod then I can definitely assure you that an 80GB capacity would more than cover your requirements. Archos 604 WIFI 30GB

Advantages: Great video playback and hard drive space
Disadvantages: Won't sync with iTunes, battery life isn't great

...Being a movie fan I enjoy watching films on the go and after becoming bored with the annoyingly small screen on the iPod Video, I decided to purchase one of these just after they came out. So far I am very pleased with the video playback performance due it having a nice, big, high resolution touch screen. Also after buying and downloading some plug ins from the Archos website I can watch a huge range of file formats on it. (Slightly annoying that I had to pay for them but hey.) Also there is plently of room for films and music on the 30GB although it would have been nice to see a slightly bigger hard drive option. On the music side of things, the archos is not iTunes compatible and so music syncing cannot be made automatic - you have to manually drag and drop all your new songs into the music folder on the Archos. Apple Ipod 80GB

Advantages: Big memory, not heavy in weight, long battery life
Disadvantages: None that I can see

...I purchased an Ipod classic and I must say that it is one of the best purchases I have made. It has a massive memory and easy to use with iTunes. Movies, TV programmes, music and photos, everything is on mine and it is so easy to add and take off things you don't require for a while. I have 80GB and I have 600 photos, 520 songs and 60 movies on it and I still have 40GB to go. Absolutely brilliant, my friend has just bought a 160GB and it is so easy to use he doesn't need my instruction to use it for the first time. With a large compacity this is certainly one for all generations and is great if you are travelling because you can take advantage of the long life battery and watch films, tv or listen to music while you travel....

...Great Product, i have had mine for about a year and find it very good! Easily transfer songs via itunes then listen to them on the go without any problems! Only disadvantages that i can think of is that it can get scratched very easily, and that some times it freezes up! But definetly worth buying and i would recommend people to buy it! 30gb is alot of space that would not easily be used up! The picture quality is very nice and i use it to watch movies on thats how good the quality is!
