Who wants to buy my 306 D turbo?

Advantages: Has a good heater and is fairly economical.
Disadvantages: Where do I start?!?!

...I normally go for high mileage German cars, but a few weeks ago, I needed a new car quickly and to cut a long story short, I ended up with a 1997 Peugeot 306 on my hands. It had only done 80,000 miles, so was a very low mileage car for me. Just to set the tone of this review in case you are short of time - I hate this car! Peugeot 306, how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways: 1. It just feels so cheap and flimsy; and is filled with rattles, squeaks. The whole car just feels and sounds like it is about to fall to pieces. Shut the door on most German cars and you get a reassuring, satisfying dull 'thud' as it firmly slots into place; when I shut the 306 door, I am worried it will be like a clown car and just disintegrate. 2. Nikon D90 - My Next 'Last' Camera

Advantages: Movies, LiveView, 12.3 mpixels, build quality, excellent lens range
Disadvantages: Still quite bulky for casual use. Expensive if that's all you want it for

Going from memory, they?ve included Philips, Casio, Canon, Nikon and errr?..Nikon. Of course the last one, my first DSLR, a Nikon D70 was going to be the last; but then we all say that don?t we, lads? What I really meant was ?the last for quite a while?. LOOKS LIKE THE ?QUITE A WHILE? HAS EXPIRED Then my daughter started making noises about a night-school class in photography, where the minimum kit requirement just so happened to be a DSLR, and I got to thinking about letting her have the D70 for a ?song?, whilst good ol? Review of Nikon D90

306??? The BOY!

Advantages: Handling, styling and fuel economy.
Disadvantages: front tyre wear and turbo lagg.

...from 90 bhp upto 115 bhp which isnt much but should sort out the lagg. To be honest i love the 306 with its award winning handling and its practicality mixed with unforgetable fuel consumption which makes this car a winner.....

Review of Peugeot 306 D Turbo

My experience of the Nikon D90 as an amateur photographer.

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, lots of useful features, well designed controls, great kit lens
Disadvantages: More expensive than some other DSLRs, quite big and heavy, limited movie mode

... How I made my choice I recently bought the D90 to upgrade from my Olympus 560UZ bridge camera, so this is my first foray into DSLR photography. Most people starting in DSLR photography will opt for the cheaper D40, or the D60, D70 and D80. I am not particularly rich, and in the end chose the D90 because I didn't want to grow out of the smaller DSLR and have to buy a new body quickly. I have found that the prices of Nikon DSLRs haven't decreased significantly over the last 3 years, so I decided (maybe wrongly) that this option would save me money in the long run. I found that it is very important to go into a shop and hold the camera in your hands before making a choice. All the photography shop assistants said that the Canon series was just as good as the Nikons, but I discounted them because I didn't get on with the feel...

Review of Nikon D90

Peugeot 306 best car on the road

Advantages: Large interior, Economic, Quick off the mark
Disadvantages: Doesn't like the cold

...The Peugeot 306 is the predecessor to the new 307. I currently own a Peugeot 306 1.9 Turbo Diesel. I have had this car for the past 4 years and have had no problems with it during that time. When anyone mentions the word diesel, the first things that come to mind are noisey, smelly cars that are really sluggish. I would usually agree, but this car is the exception. When you first sit in this car you would be suprised that a hatchback can be so spacious, but it is. Another suprise will be when you start the engine and hear it purr.....although it isn't as quiet as a petrol it has been padded enough under the bonnet to reduce the engine noise a great deal. Now take it for a drive, the seating and view through all the mirrors is perfect, and you pass through the gears with ease. It's not until you hit the motorway that realise...

Peugeot 306 XRDT - reliable but not the best

Advantages: Very, very reliable and fast
Disadvantages: Smokey!!! Plagued by electrical faults.

...I've just parted with the 306 XRDT (L-reg) which I'd had for just over 2 years. I loved it to bits, but in the end the expense to maintain it and certain faults outweighed the positive aspects, so it had to go. When I got my car it had done loads of miles - when I sold it, it had 147500 on the clock! Despite that, it started every time - and never broke down once. The driving position was quite comfortable, it had a really good stereo for it's age, and it had a lovely big boot. And I really loved the fact that once it had hit that turbo you were OFF!!!! Cheap insurance was another plus. As were electric windows, roomy cabin and the fact that I could do about 400 miles to a tank. Now for the downfalls..... The power steering only worked sporadically - ie it ALWAYS worked when you took it to the garage, but as you were parallel...

306 GiT?

I narrowed my list down to a Peugeot 306 XSi, Golf GTi, Megane Coupe or a Fiat Bravo HGT and set off to the parts of town that bristle with used-car dealerships to see what was available locally. 306 TD a comprimise or a great car

Advantages: Cheap to insure, run, buy
Disadvantages: 1.9 so fall outside cheap road tax!!

...After receiving a slap on the wrist over a year ago for speeding (along with a hefty fine and point i may add) I decided it was time to trade in my spoty Honda Accord 2.0i for a sensible car. The words boring economical and Diesel(heaven forbid)sprang to mind when I thought of low insurance and running costs. I settled on a 1995 306 Turbo which has since proven to be them best buy i have made!!. The 306 has all the benefits of a diesel with the sporty looks of a hot hatch. I was pleasantly suprised the day I drove of the forecourt and felt the turbo kick in in second gear for the first time. The car handles great and has plenty of room to fit in five adults. Road noise is minimal and i have made long motorway drives with ease. A am fairly tall but do not have any problems with the seats(which are fully adjustable) and there is plenty...

Altec Lansing UHP 306

Advantages: Great sound quality, strong cord, carry case
Disadvantages: Price

...After my Sennheiser CX 300's snapped a friend gave me his Altec Lansings. At first they did take some getting used to as they are bigger than the CX 300s, I would prefer them slightly smaller. Background noise isn't a problem but initially you may find the silicone tips take a bit of wiggling about to get them to fit exactly if you want them to block out all background noise. You'll get used to the positioning very quickly so it won't be a problem for long. The noise isolation level is 16dB which as far as I'm aware is more than those of the CX 300 which I think is around 12dB. If you need more than 16dB there's also a Professional set which have a noise isolation level of 26dB and generally higher spec. The cable is a cloth cable making the durability greater. The earphones also come with a pouch to store them in and several sets...
