Wasting time with District 9

Advantages: Good action sequences, interesting moral ideas.
Disadvantages: Terrible (and I mean terrible) acting, disjointed.

...and themes. The alien's enforced segregation and mistreatment so clearly reflecting the issues that have occurred in South Africa over the years. It obviously a subject close to native South African fledging Director Neil Blomkamp's heart and kudos to him for attempting it. However, this does not forgive the fact that large parts of this film are bloody awful. Take the aliens for example. How dreadful are they! They look like something out of Doctor Who. Not even the modern Doctor Who either. We are talking Tom Baker era special effects here! The whole thing is very much low budget made for television sci-fi. Now I like my B-movies as much as the next guy but they have to make up for it with a decent plot and acting and for me District 9 has neither. A strong theme and an interesting moral undercurrent? Advantages: A classic theme
Disadvantages: Terrible script, terrible acting and a disappointing ending

...Buying a film featuring Kelly Brook was always going to be risky but I still couldn?t quite stop myself from putting House of 9 in my Amazon basket ? maybe Dennis Hopper would make up for it? The idea behind this film is similar to that of Saw 2 and based on the classic ?And Then There Were None? theme of several people being forced together only for their number to be reduced until there is only 1 (or possibly 2 or even none) person still standing. In House of 9, 9 strangers are abducted from their everyday life only to be imprisoned together in a completely sealed house furnished with cameras and hidden microphones. They wake up unable to understand what has happened to them until a disembodied voice informs them that they have been put here as part of a game. BMW 325i SPORT - MY DAILY DRIVER

Advantages: STYLING, IMAGE, BUILD QUALITY, ATTENTION TO DETAIL

Advantages: Outstanding performances, great story, awesome action

9 Songs I Hate About You

Advantages: Some decent enough music.
Disadvantages: Pornography thinly disguised as a love story.

...more than sex and music and there's no apparent love at all. Not emotionally, at least. The music only section is a bit of a waste of time. It is just the parts of the film where the bands are on stage. Given that the film isn't split into that many scenes, it's a slightly easier way of getting to the musical performances than going through the scene selection itself, but it amounts to pretty much the same thing. What is amusing is that 8 or the 9 songs featured in the film are indie-rock songs, but they have chosen the one that doesn't fit this mould, Michael Nyman's "Debbie", to play over the menu selections, which just doesn't quite feel right. BMW 325i convertable

Advantages: Fair price, electric roof, leather interior, CD player and, of course 'blindingly rapid'.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive parts, can tend to guzzle petrol depending on the speed.

...Two years ago my brother was serching for a car which had class, good looks, gave a good performance, a soft-top and space for his golf clubs. He found a mattalic purple BMW 325i convertable which gave him everything above. The only thing it didn't give him was the good performance - instead it's performance was excellent. The soft-top folded back itself - what would you expect? The car came with black leather interior, a CD player, alloy wheels, a standard BMW alarm system and lots more. Insurance can obviously be high for a quality motor as with the BMW 325i. If anyone was going to buy this car my advice to them would be that: *BMW parts can be expensive, although replica parts are available at a fraction of the cost. *It may be necessary to buy a wind-breaker, (which breaks the sometimes violent wind when the roof is down...
