Pioneer takes audio to new high !
Review of Pioneer DV-656A by
g8ina
Advantages: Plays DVD Audio, & everything else, even multiregion !
Disadvantages: Not quite as hot on audio CDs.
...would expect it to be, and it fits the hand quite comfortably. I've had it since Nov 2002 and not had to change the batteries yet ! Mind you, I didnt use the ones they supplied.... :-)
The onscreen menu is clear and easy to understand, except for some of the complex audio options, which may need some explanation, but the handbook is VERY good and will guide you through this with ease.
OVERALL :
As this upgrade was primarily intended as a DVD Audio biased one, it has succeded. If I wanted JUST a multi region DVD Video player, there are others for a lot less with more features, so choose carefully based on your own requirements.
This machine won several awards in its day, but it is now on the edge of competitiveness. Only get one if you really want DVD Audio, but for ordinary DVD Video, look elsewhere.
I paid £329 in Nov 2002....

Quality affordable shots!
Review of Samsung DIGIMAX A7 by
lordmercia
Advantages: Good battery life, user friendly, cheap!
Disadvantages: Might not be the bees knees for an enthusiast
...there's an audio recording mode that you can use, it can save 10 seconds of audio related to a picture or once again the dedicated feature is only limited to available memory.
Batteries:
The camera comes with two Duracell Ultra+, to be honest alkaline batteries aren't the way to go with this camera as I managed to drain them within two hours. However pick up some 2300+ Ni-Mh batteries and you're looking at HOURS of shots, I took around 240 pictures over several days with a single charge of these batteries!
Connectivity:
Connecting the camera to your PC to remove the pictures is simple and hassle free, simply install the relative software (provided on CD) and use as any normal USB drive. There's also specialist Digimax software you can use to connect and organise images and furthermore the camera features PictBridge, meaning you can...

Embarrassingly Unfashionable
Review of Panasonic NV GS320 by
smooth_criminal_
Advantages: Very affordable, reasonably high quality
Disadvantages: Not very attractive, poor battery-life
...high compared to other video-cameras, at 3.1 megapixels, it fails to rival your average digital camera. But, obviously, this is not the device’s main function, and its film quality is undoubtedly above average in this price range. The camera also does well in terms of audio quality. Using a standard built-in microphone, sounds and voices can be heard clearly on playback, and, in my experience, muffled audio is almost non-existent, with a wind noise reduction system also helping to reduce the sound of outdoor gusts.
At the fairly low price, compared to many other cameras, of £329.99, this model delivers film, audio, and even still images, at an impressive quality, providing the user with clear value for money.
Functions
The primary function of the Panasonic NV GS320 is, unsurprisingly, to record videos. As we have seen, it performs well...

Soft as a baby's bum
Review of Johnsons Baby Softwash by
hunee3
Advantages: Baby soft skin
Disadvantages: Bit pricey
...When my nephew was coming to stay, i had a list of things i had to get before he arrived: nappies, baby powder, oh yes, and Johnson's softwash.
I was able to get it in Boots for £3.29, on a buy one get one free offer. that was £3.29 for two 400ml bottles.
The packaging is quite simple, the bottle being made of soft plastic with an easy flip lid on the bottom.
It comes in two different scents: fresh, which i don't think really smells of anything, and calming lavender.
I used it all week on my nephew and it seemed to last well, and left his skin nice and soft. so soft that i decided i would start using it too! It gently absorbed itself into my skin, and didn't leave me itching afterwards (my skin is quite sensitive to most bath and body treatments).
I find it particularly handy when you use it with a bath scrunchy to exfoliate without...

Not too Compaq-ct notebook
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nx9010 - P4 2.8 GHz - 15" TFT by
droniee
Advantages: Reasonable priced, robust, good specifications
Disadvantages: Heavy, side buttons spoil easily, slow start up
...I bought this laptop early Jan 2004 with much regrets later as the intel centrino came just a few weeks later.
Weighing at 3.5kg and with the dimensions of: Width 32.9 cm, Depth 27.2 cm, Height 4.9 cm, it is rather bulky and inconvenient to carry around. I dread bringing my laptop when i travel especially when i have transits because it is rather heavy. Usually, I would remove the battery (if i do not plan to use the laptop during the journey) and the adaptors and place them in my trolley hand luggage to reduce the burden on my shoulder.
This lap top has a slow start up and at first i thought it was due to the many programs i've installed. I've reformatted the computer but discovered that it still takes quite some time for startup.
A year after buying this laptop, the problems started to come. My side buttons controlling...

It beats spots any day
Review of Avon Clearskin Foaming Facial Cleanser by
wulise
Advantages: Helps to clear spots, reasonable price
Disadvantages: Does not always remove acne
...This may not be the cure for your spots but it is worth a try. For many teenager or parents of teenagers, spots can be a nightmare. The Clearskin Foaming Facial Cleaser maybe a help.
It has a mild tea-tree base which is known to help fight spots. The cleasing agent also helps to remove dead skin and dirt, whilst removing any excess grease. It is a gentle non-abrasive cleanser. The instructions are written carefully on the back and this cleanser should be used daily.
Best of all though is Avon's money back guarantee, if you do not find the product is working for you or if you do not like it for whatever reason, simply return it to your representative and you will recieve a full money back refund. Surely 3.29 pound is worth splashing out to clear those horrible, unsightly spots?...
