The Classic Nokia 3500

Advantages: Cheap, Design, Useability,
Disadvantages: Camera not up to standard of others

...I have recently purchased the Nokia 3500 Classic (in pink) and thought I'd give you my first thoughts and feelings on the phone. Hopefully I wont have to change my opinions as the phone gets older! The 3500 is a well made phone, and reminds me slightly of the iPhone in appearance (but at a fraction of the cost!) I bought mine from Carphone Warehouse for £69.99, although I did have to purchase £10 credit. The features the 3500 boasts include Bluetooth, MP3 player, Video recorder, PTT (push to talk - like a walkie talkie) and 2MP camera. The quality of the camera is not quite as clear as previous Sony Ericssons I've had - but it does the job when you're on the go. The simple layout of the 3500 is very simple to use and understand - which I think is common with Nokias. The screen resolution is quite low compared to other phones...

Casio WK3500 packs in the features!!

Advantages: lightweight, good sound through speakers, loads of features
Disadvantages: plastic feeling, not as good through an amp

...I've owned this keyboard for approx 2 years now. Its been played at gigs a few times and also thrown in the back of the car many more times! Its now not my main keyboard but is still regularly used. Styling and cosmetics The design and styling of the keyboard is a little cheap looking. It feels very plastic and light. A feature of expensive keyboards is their heaviness. Probably not a good indicator of their quality although many would say the same thing! The WK3500 is very light for the size and feels a little vulnerable to knocks. Although i have to say its been played in many packed pubs and never let me down so what do i know! Look out for an opinion on Mobile phone Etiquette by a user called Lad (http://www.uk.ciao.com/opinionview.php?OpinionId=21121) Its the best I have read in that section. (and believe me I have read 'em all) The only change that should be made to Telecommunications is to rename it to Office & Communications and target it to the 'golden user' i.e. the 35-year-old large disposable income, BMW etc. Maybe they could do a deal with Office World, Staples, Viking etc. but then again maybe they couldn't....

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2GHz

Advantages: 64-bit future proofed, speedy, excellent value for money
Disadvantages: Dual core AMD 64 CPUS are faster... but hey it would make this CPU cheaper so it's not all bad!

...Intel's Pentium 4 CPU pipeline length is 30. A longer pipeline lets CPUs be clocked at higher speeds, but this generally causes performance problems. You see, CPUs like to predict what future instructions will become available and the longer the pipeline, the further ahead the prediction is. If a CPU gets an instruction prediction wrong, it has to retrace its steps and correct the incorrect prediction/s that it made. With Intel's CPU, the long pipeline leads to the CPU backtracking a lot more than AMD's CPU, and that time spent backtracking means AMD's CPU can get up to twice as much done in the same time. Well, in you understood that then you should understand that this AMD Athlon 64 3500+ CPU is a rather fast CPU by AMD. A very efficient, cool running the silent CPU, in my opinion it is a great CPU worth the money asked for it...

Toshiba Portege 3500 - Best of breed, but heavy

Advantages: Robust, powerful, functionally superior to the competition. All you could ask for from a tablet pc.

I said supposedly, Looking through a few telecommunications opinions they are generally read more but read a lot more by non members, basically those who have come through the affiliate links to the site. So you may get lots of reads but the earning potential is falsely exaggerated. For example on of my friends has written an opinion on his mobile phone a particularly new model it has had 45 reads in comparison to 7-8 reads of his other opinions. But on read 8 times by members. I conclude to this that writing in this section will not make you the most money, but if you want you opinion read by everyone this is the place to be for now!
