I stick it in !!!
Review of 3Com Fast EtherLink XL by  6Hades6

Advantages: good, fast, cheap
Disadvantages: Nothing

...and use it also already just as lasting, after the installation and the installation what both rather quickly and simply went, to this day, had never to open my computer because of this card I it works faultlessly to this day. I use it for my small network, what consists of three computers or if friends come to the gamble to me. Up till now I didn't as said have any problems with it yet and I think I am also absolutely satisfied with their speed who already needs a 1000 Mbit card at home, then? So nothing bad gives to report, I have used it for my DSL once a while, too and it worked and harmonized faultlessly also there, I really only can recommend it if spare one extra card, one of the good manufacturer 3 COM then. ? 3 COM ? 3Com Europe Limited 3Com Centre Boundary Way Maylands Park South HEMEL HEMPSTEAD Hertfordshire HP2 7YU... Connect to Ciao from your garden!
Review of 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 11g PC Card by  Testarossa

Advantages: You can access the internet from anywhere in the house (or garden)
Disadvantages: Hard to set up.

...I have been in trouble this past couple of months. I discovered Ciao, and want to spend loads of time here. My husband wants me to spend time with him, understandably. He likes watching car programmes on the television, and I don’t. The solution we came up with was a Wireless Router for my laptop. Having looked around, and found no product reviews on wireless routers, we took our chances on this. We searched around for a good price. We placed an order from ebuyer for a 3COM Office Connect ADSL Wireless 11g Firewall Router, with a 3COM Office Connect Wireless 11g PC Card. The cards on their own cost around £34 if you search the net. If ever they add the correct product to the category, I will write one on the Router itself, but for now, I get to tell you about my experience with the card. This review assumes that you already... Very functional Network Card
Review of 3Com 905B Combo 10/100MBit PCI by  andycharger

Advantages: Fast and reliable and loads of network choice..
Disadvantages: Expensive

...and why I think it is so. The 3Com 905B Combo 10/100MBit PCI Overview. This card is of excellent design. It is produced by 3com who are one of the market innovators in Network Technology. You can gaurantee it is going to be very high quality and last you for as long as your computer will. With its vast array of network port choices, you can be assured it will be adaptable to almost any environment. Compatibility. This card is PCI slot fitting. This means that it fits into the WHITE expansion slots inside your machine. Almost all PC's built in the last 5 or 6 years will have PCI slots. Best way to make sure is to open up your PC case. If you are unsure about this, consult a local shop. The slot will be towards the rear of the machine and on the motherboard. Installation. Simply open up your computer (with the power off... The only network card you should buy
Review of 3Com 3C905B-TX by  MikeWhalley

Advantages: Works - perfectly.
Disadvantages: Perhaps a tad expensive for the home user to fork out on

...When I decided to upgrade my home network, I knew exactly which NIC was going to choose for my machines. The 3com 3C905-TX is /the/ network card to use to ensure a quick and reliable network. Obviously the network is only as good as the cabling and the hub connecting it together. But as far as network cards go - this one is the dogs b*llocks. I say this because as I'm in the IT industry, I've got through quite a few makes of network cards, and this make seems to be the most reliable. Many a card have I had to replace because they give up the ghost or simply wont work in the PC. I've even had cards which have caught on fire, taking the motherboard with it! Now I'm not saying that this won't happen when you use this network card - let me give that little disclaimer! ;-). I've seen 100mbit network cards for about 7-8 quid. In most... Read review

My PC Is A TV, Now With Hi-Definition Option!
Review of Nebula Electronics DigiTV Card by  BNibbles

Advantages: Turns your PC into a Freeview Personal Video Recorder
Disadvantages: Not all PCs suited to siting in lounge

...monitor. D) ‘SYS REQS’ - Your PC needs to be at least a Pentium III running at 800mhz with 64 mbytes of RAM - this explains why one of my PCs will detect the server but produces a jerky picture - it's Pentium III, 500 mhz! CONCLUSION It’s difficult to talk about a TV Tuner card without making at least a passing mention of the needs of a Media Centre PC. Bear in mind that if this monster is to sit in the lounge, it needs to be quiet – having enough screaming fans to raise a hovercraft just won’t do. A site like www.quietpc.com is invaluable as a source of ‘hushed’ bits, fans, power units etc. and as I’ve written elsewhere, changing a small diameter fan for a larger one makes one hell of a difference. The cooling fan placed over your CPU (Pentium chip, what-have-you) is usually a small diameter ‘screamer’, well overdue for a makeover... Read review

3Coms
Review of 3Com 10/100 Managed NIC by  me.net

Advantages: Reliable
Disadvantages: Nothing special

...3Com Card This card is a nice card but when it come to networking cads there is only two things that make a difference one being the speed, you only tend to find three types of network card all at various speeds ranging form 10 mbps then you get a 10/100 mbps and just recently you can now get hold of a 10/100/1000mbps cars that can use any of these three standards. The card in question will only run at either ten mega bits per second or one hundred mbps depending on you other hard ware so this is something to keep in mind when buying this card. If you are using a Rj45 Crossover network cable linking two machines directly and both cards will work a 10/100 then you will receive a speed of 100mbps but if the other card in the other machine is only running a 10mbps you will only get speed of 10mbps the speed of the slowest card... 3Com - Mind Blowing Wireless Range!
Review of 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Cable/DSL Router - wireless router by  Radical-Machine

Advantages: Awesome Value for Money, Great Setup Utility
Disadvantages: Not the best looking object in the world!

...of 100 metres. Seeing as this network would have to span two outer walls, I was a little concerned that the unit wouldn't be able to perform. Nevertheless, convinced by my earlier experience with the first one, I pressed ahead and ordered it. Upon opening the box, the contents were spread out on the table, and once again I was impressed with 3Com's offering. The unit itself, the PSU, rubber feet, a long RJ11 telephone cable, a long RJ45 ethernet cable, and various certification stickers for safety use (if installed in a public/business location). Following the manual's instructions, I connected the router to the mains and powered on and verified the correct lights were on. I then plugged in the first computer via the ethernet cable and immediately the lights on the front panel indicated a hardwired connection had been made. Now I... Read review

Quake III On the PS2 nuff said
Review of Quake III Revolution (PS2) by  DeadMan

Advantages: Cool Graphics, Fun, Scooped up single player mode, 4 Player :-)
Disadvantages: No online play, No mouse and keyboard support :-(

...Quake III eh? I'm sure you've heard of it on the PC and Dreamcast and quite probably own it. But those of you who don't then you need to get your head out of the miserable cave you're stuck in and focus your eyes on this opinion. I own both the PS2 version of QuakeIII that I got cheap off an auction (ebay.co.uk) and a PC version. The differences are small, the PS2 version offering new weapons (which are borrowed from Quake III Team Arena on the PC), PS2 specific maps and game-modes. The weapons and maps make no real difference but the single player mode has been improved dramatically. No longer you simply go though the game within 3 days beating simply every bot in every deathmatch map the games has to offer, nay. The single player mode on the PS2 starts off with selecting a character from five (Sarge, Anarki, Doom, Klesk and Daemia... Read review

3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Access Point
Review of 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Access Point by  matt_fantastic

Advantages: Bargain bundle with wireless card for my laptop
Disadvantages: Just an access point, no modem/hub/etc

...I use the 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Access Point in my home wireless network, and bought it as part of a bundle with a laptop wireless card - check my other reviews to see if I've got round to reviewing that too... It used the IEEE 802.11g standard (data transfer speeds of up to 54Mbps), plus is backwards compatible with IEEE 802.11b (upto 11Mbps) so works with older equipment (such as a slightly outdated laptop from a previous employer) with no problems. The included CD installed all the necessary drivers very quickly and also contains all the manuals in PDF format. Once the drivers were installed, the configuration wizard runs in a standard web browser. This involves configuring IP addresses, encryption settings, DHCP settings and other techy bits and bobs. This was pretty straightforward, although a basic knowledge... Read review
