3Com OfficeConnect TP4 4 Port Ethernet Hub
Advantages: Ebay bargain !
Disadvantages: Only 10 mbps, Only 4 ports
...Bought this on Ebay for a bargain £1 to expand my network. I've since replaced it with another 3Com hub (check out my other reviews), but thought I'd still let you know a little about it.
It's an entry-level, 4 port hub, but only 10BASE-T, rather than the faster 100BASE-TX - that's why I upgraded, so you can connect 4 users together.
There's one (manually switched) MDI-MDIX port to provide simple "in" connection from a server, switch, or hub, and three other female RJ-45 ports to send the network signal out to 3 other items.
The hub has an external power supply and a "CoolCurve" self-cooling design eliminating the need for a noisy fan. Its dimensions (height: 3.6cm, width: 23.1cm, depth: 13.6cm) allow it to fit nicely with other 3Com OfficeConnect units - special stacking clips are available.
It's an "unmanaged" hub, so...

3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Access Point
Advantages: Bargain bundle with wireless card for my laptop
Disadvantages: Just an access point, no modem/hub/etc
...simple 256-bit WPA (Wireless Protected Access) encryption and/or 40-/64-bit and 128-bit WEP (Wireless Encryption Protocol) shared-key encryption, along with the ability to allow only listed MAC addresses access. In addition, you can de-select the "Broadcast SSID" option so your network is effectively invisible - folks can't see the Site Specific ID...
It has LED Indicators on the front for: Power; LAN port status (Link, Speed and Activity) and WLAN port status (Link, Activity; Alert).
Dimensions
- Height: 2.5 cm (1 in) - not including twin antennae (!)
- Width: 22 cm (8.7 in)
- Depth: 13.5 cm (5.3 in)
- Weight: 592 g (1.3 lb)
(These dimensions are the same as my 3Com OfficeConnect Dual Speed Switch 5 - check out my review - so they look great stacked....)
I hope this helps......

3Com OfficeConnect Dual Speed Switch 5
Advantages: Simple, dual speed, small size
Disadvantages: Only 5 ports (?)
...Not much to say about this really. I bought this for a pound (!) on Ebay to connect to my router giving me 4 more ethernet ports to connect stuff to my network. That's all it does, gives you more connection; there's no firewall, DCHP, nothing, but then that's all in my router.
Its 5 autosensing ports (Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX - RJ-45)automatically detect the speed of the attached device to maximize network performance - with a data transfer rate of up to 100 Mbps.
It really was a "plug-and-play" installation with no configuration needed, it connected straight into my network - I didn't even ned to read the manual ! The auto-sensing feature means that you can plug the "in" cable into any socket - another 3Com switch I have has a specific "in" port.
It's nice and small (Weight 0.6 kg, Height 4.2 cm, depth 13.5 cm, Width 22.8...

3Com - Mind Blowing Wireless Range!
Advantages: Awesome Value for Money, Great Setup Utility
Disadvantages: Not the best looking object in the world!
...When you purchase an all-in-one solution for broadband in your home these days, you want something that will sit in the background, quietly providing you with fast broadband - whether wired to your desktops, wireless to your laptops or networked to a whole range of bandwidth hungry appliances. You want it to work and you want it to be reliable and of course it must be simple to set-up.
The 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless Router ticks all these requirements. I originally purchased one for a client, and I was surprised at how easy the installation was, especially since they used dreaded AOL! Many manuals for routers are usually of two distinct formats: horrendously complicated jargon-spewing bohemoths aimed at network professionals with accreditation from Cisco, or are partonising pamphlets covering the "perfect" install, which we all know...

Rub a dub HUB
Advantages: Enough connectivity for a small office
Disadvantages: Pricy
...3com are a market force in all things Network. As I have discussed im my reviews yesterday, they provide everything you could possibly need to set up and maintain a nework of any size.
While your PC's need a network card to allow them to connect to the outside world, they also need a meeting places for all of their cables and a method of communication.
That is where the hub takes over.
I like to think of the hub as the local telephone exchange. It sits there and reroutes all of your calls to their correct destination. Only with the hub, its computer commands instead of telephone calls.
Obviously, some people need a small hub and some need a slightly bigger hub, depending on their requirements. Luckily, 3com provide a solution and hub size for everyone.
When buying and choosing your hub, always allow for expansion. If you...

Ipod Touch 8Gb with engraving
Advantages: All the features of the iphone but without the massive price tag
Disadvantages: battery life could be better
...--Background--
I bought the iPod touch for my son for his 10th birthday. Before he alerted me to the item I knew nothing at all about it. Having played around with it for a few hours, I can now see what all the fuss is about as this item is so addictive. The touch comes in 3 guises, namely 8Gb, 16Gb and 32Gb versions. These are all identical apart from, obviously the storage capacity.
--In the box--
I must admit that then the box came, I thought half the order had been missed as it is minute! Along with the ipod itself, you get the headphones, a usb to pc charger and a quick setup guide. Although this seem very little, it is actually enough to get you up and running in next to no time. As we bought this direct from the Apple store we were entitlted to free engraving on the back of the device. We took the decision to have his...

THE 8GB MUSIC PLAYER.
Advantages: LARGE MEMORY, SOUND OUTPUT AND LONG BATTERY LIFE.
Disadvantages: : FRAGILE IN LOOKS.
...the I pod touch makes it quite a different and unique. The I pod touch is capable of storing large capacity of information well what actually do you think of a device that that has 8gb memory space. Like I wrote above, it is capable of 1500 to 1700 songs and on the other hand, capable of storing 10,000 pictures and also capable of playing video for the duration of 10 hours.
In terms of videos, you can equally upload videos just like in music. You can upload movie but the issue with it is that the more you videos you put, the less you space
In the music section, we have many categories like the album, artist, song title and genre these are the categories that make it very possible for you to make easy selections of your music.
But what I don't like about the device is lack of external loudspeaker so it then means that if by mistake you...

iPod Touch 8GB
Advantages: intuitive, stylish, fun, great music player, variety of features, internet function
Disadvantages: fingerprints! no camera, no built in speakers, only available in black currently
...the perfect size and weight in my hand. The screen is a 3.5 inch colour display and the rest of the ipod front face is shiny black with only one actual 'button' which is centred at the bottom of the front face of the ipod touch and serves as the main menu button. The back face of the ipod touch is silver and works pretty well as a mirror so could be useful to check out your makeup! This is the face, which has the engraving on it if you chose that option. The engraving was done by laser and I was very impressed with the result, as it looked stylish along with the rest of the iPod Touch.
The top of the iPod Touch has the on off button which you need to hold down for a few seconds to turn it on or off. The base of the iPod Touch has the ports for the headphones and the USB connector.
At just 8mm in thickness, the iPod Touch is great to slip into...

Apple itouch 8GB
Advantages: Stylish, easy to use, large storage, good features, wi-fi
Disadvantages: Long to switch on/off, browser can be slow, may freeze at times
...Having gone from a normal 4GB ipod to an 8GB itouch, I was pleasantly surprised with the major difference from the normal ipod to itouch. The itouch offers the users with an array of different features I never thought could be possible for a MP3/4 player. Its Wi-Fi capabilities allow its users to keep up-to-date with the latest news, music and events by using the built in web browser to search for any categories the users pleases. The "Maps" features allows users to find directions to their destination so they always find their way home. The ability to search and play YouTube video is a good feature that no one can get bored of. Away from the extra features, the stored MP3s can be found and played a lot more easily with the touch screen feature and are of high quality. Due to its 8GB storage space, the ability to upload and photos to...
