Advantages: Blows away the rep-mobile image, has all the toys Disadvantages: No hatch, no R/W/W and front wheel drive
...I bought my 2.3V5 in March last year. A test drive was enough, at the end of a long day and a lot of test driven cars, to convince me. Peel back the interior and you see VW part numbers, which is reassuring. The build quality seems great, no squeaks, rattles or bits coming off in my hand.
The big engine is a revelation to me. It warms up quickly, does 25 mpg around town cold, and tows a 4m boat to the South of France at 35 mpg in all sorts of weather. If you want to waft, this car wafts. If you feel like showing a clean pair of heels along winding country roads - this car handles well, with plenty of feel from the steering and all-round balance is great. The brakes are efficient, all the electronic trickery (ABS, EBD, TCS) taking the guesswork out of what should be a simple manoevre but so rarely is. As an update, I've had...

Review of SEAT Toledo 2.3V5
Advantages: Fast, exhilarating drive. Disadvantages: Still not a true "sports" car
...The Volkswagen Golf has been around so long now that there are readers who will not even remember a time when it didn?t exist! It is in danger of very soon achieving the same legendary status as Volkswagen?s other legend, the ?Beetle?, the original version of which was ordered by Mr. Hitler.
The first ?hot hatch? version of the Golf was the car so beloved of boy-racers (and even some not so boyish ones) the VW Golf Gti. This car dominated this particular market for years, until the advent of the Peugeot 205 Gti, and today there is a plethora of similar vehicles available to aspiring Michael Schumakers.
But when VW come out with another version of this much-loved car, people still sit up and take notice. The Golf?s latest incarnation is a new model called the V5.
This has been available for some time, but was in fact almost...
Advantages: Ride quality, space, looks and boot size Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
...I owned my Bora V5 for over 2 years. In that time I must have covered about 35,000 miles.
The v5 I had was bought from a Volkswagen and was an X VW show car for the motor shows. As a result I had every option available, split rims, leather etc.
As a standard car the Bora offers many great features within the VW range. You get the looks and usefulness of a saloon which you just don't get in the golf. You get plenty space in the boot without the vastness of the Passat..
The Bora is a practical and well thought out car which does not share the design with any other VW platform. It was designed for the Bora first.
The V5 is near the top of the range in the Bora line up and thus when you get one or look at one you expect to see plenty of value for money. Sadly hey decided to drop the V5 in the new line up and I know in the replacement...
...leasurely drive back to the dealer I took in the build quality of the interior and it is excellent; far better than some 'better quality' marques. The electric blue dash adding to the experience. On returning to the dealer I handed over the cash, even managing to negotiate him down £500 which paid my years insurance and leaving a little left over to take the puff adder out for a swanky meal in the country.
Having driven the car for the last 3 months nothing has deminished my appreciation for it. I have even committed myself to owning it for the next 3 years where I sincerley hope that a follow up has been introduced to the market.
To summarise, if you are looking at one of these cars or are undecided as to what to spend your hard earned on then look no further than the V5 - You WILL NOT be disappointed....
Advantages: Solid build and numerous features Disadvantages: Minor flaw with the expansion card fixing bracket
...[Introduction]
Thermaltake is a name some may recognise as being in the CPU and case cooling markets however they are now getting a growing reputation for a fantastic array of pre-modded cases. This reputation is well deserved as I will show in the following paragraphs.
[Specs]
The Xaser III case has the following specifications:
• Dimensions: 531 x 206 x 521mm
• Weight: 17kg (steel chassis) / 8.5kg (aluminum chassis)
• Drive Bays: 4 external 5.25”, 2 external 3.5”, 6 internal 3.5”
• Expansion slots: (7)
• Motherboard type: Standard ATX
• Power Supply is optional so I won’t go into it here
• Top mounted Firewire, USB 2.0 (x2), headphone and mic jack hidden under a spring flap
• Cooling: 7 80mm case fans (2400 RPM / 38 CFM / 21 dBA each)
• Colours: Blue, silver or black
My personal choice was the silver case...
Advantages: Low Cost, High Performance, Good Built Quality, Almost latest hardware support Disadvantages: No PCI-E Slot, Only 2 RAM Slots, Low Integrated GFX
...I'm using this product from a year. I bought a budgeted system containing MSI K8MM-V MoBo, AMD Sempron 2800+, 768 MB DDR 400MHz RAM, Sony DVD-RW DRU 170A, LG CD-RW/DVD-ROM, 80+80 WD SATA.
And the system is serving me very fine. The MotherBoard support 64 BIT AMD k8 processors upto AMD Athlon 3700+ [Socket 754] and upto 2 GB of DDR 266/333/400 DDR SDRAM.
It support almost all AGP 8x Graphic Cards but ATI one's are some what better than nVIdia.
3 PCI slots give you enough expandability. Two SATA and TWO IDE ports can accomodate upto 6 Drives [2 SATA and 4 IDE Drives]. It support UDMA 66/100/133 modes supporting upto 150 MB/s transfer.
In other words it is SUPERB....
