Don't rock the boat! Only 4 hours from Auckland!

Advantages: Great scenery, lots of activities, value for money
Disadvantages: Long way from anywhere! A bit dependent on the weather!

...If you are ever in Auckland I definitely recommend this "Rock the Boat" trip. The "Rock" is a boat offering overnight cruises on the beautiful Bay of Islands in the very north of New Zealand about a 4 hour drive north of Auckland. The captain and his friendly crew will meet you at Paihia wharf at 5pm or 4pm in winter to give you a bit extra sunlight. As you board the boat, all the crew meet you and ask your name etc and make you feel really welcome! I was actually a bit embarrassed because I didn't remember some of the crew's names even when they knew mine and they had everybody on the boat's names to remember and I only had a few to remember but it really did make you feel welcome! The people on the boat where a mixture of backpackers, holiday makers, singles, couples and people travelling alone so if you are worried about...

A typical 4-hour shift at Safeway

Advantages: Your given the chance to work your way up the career ladder, equal oppertunities and ideal working hours
Disadvantages: Can get a little boring, some angry customers

...understand the dangers of knives, and what to do in a fire drill etc. You are then taken out onto the shop floor and are given this little book with different items listed in it. You have to find as many of the items as you can, and next to it (in the book) write down the isle number it is in. You are also shown a video explaining more safety and dangers. The whole induction lasts 3-4 hours and is a little boring, but you do get paid for it. You should get your uniform on your first day, red fleece, green shirt and black trousers. You also have to wear black shoes and socks, these are not provided. You are also given a staff discount card, which gives you 10 per cent off purchases (not including petrol, alcohol or tobacco). Incompetence when a 4 hour journey became 33 hours

Advantages: Um, sunshine - no thanks to Golden Sun.
Disadvantages: Cut two days off our holiday, no information, no customer care, misinformation at best. Appauling service. No compensation as yet.

I have literally just got back from a weeks holiday booked with Golden Sun, on the volcanic Aegean island of Santorini. My boyfriend and I flew from Gatwick with Excelair, for one week in a self-catering appartment in the resort of Perissa at the Perissa II Studios at a cost of £179 each. With a flight leaving at 6am, we were sold on the fact that after a direct flight and transfer of around 25 mins, we would be on the beach by lunchtime. 4 hours wasted and they called the police.

Advantages: Good selection, all the networks.
Disadvantages: Very poor customer service/after-sales support.

...the phone memory, and that because their systems are down, when they upgrade my t68 all my numbers will be erased. To cut a long story short, we wasted 4 hours in two different carphone warehouses, didn't get the phone fixed (and still haven't) and they're still getting the benefit of the insurance we're paying. Ironically on their business cards it says "Rule number 1: If we don't serve the customer - someone else will!" How right they are... next phone I get will be from somewhere else. So beware - insurance will give you a replacement phone if they have one...but it will be a Trium one with no capacity to store numbers in the phone memory. This means if you've got more than 150 or however many you can store on your sim card, you're going to be without the balance... I don't know what other alternatives there are to...

...'d been told to. I showed my receipt, which had been sent to me, but this person said that someone else knew about it. So, after waiting for at least 5 minutes I finally got to speak with someone who knew what I was talking about. I had to explain the situation about 3 times, and had to wait a further 15 minutes for them to find my MP3. At last they found it. Great I thought! Now I can go home! But, no. They hadn't been given the correct authorisation or something, and their 'computer' wouldn't let them give me it. They said I could look around the store, or play on the new Playstation2 (which incidentally was awful; Ridge Racer 5 is pathetic!) whilst they sorted everything out. I think it must have been about half an hour later that they managed to find out all the information they needed, and were awaiting fax from another...

The history of the world in 4 hours!

Advantages: Great production values. Faithful to the PC game.
Disadvantages: Takes a lllooonnnggg time to play

...ahead in the game. In this phase you get cash in several different ways. Cities provide cash to their owners, depending on size, resources owned and the happiness of the citizens. Every turn has a “Critical Resource”, and you get cash if any of your resources match it. The final cash-grabber is having 3, 4 or 5 matching resources. You then use the cash to get technology upgrades, more units, city upgrades or city improvements. It is a very deep game, with a lot going on at one time. It is also very long. One game can take 4-5 hours, which will put a lot of gamers off. There is not a lot of downtime, where players have nothing to do, but it is still a bit of a marathon. It is quite expensive (£34.99), but it is apparent where the money went, as the production quality of the game is fantastic. I think it rates up...
