Technika MP-308 4GB MP3 player with FM tuner
Advantages: Wide range of features
Disadvantages: Difficult to navagate menus
...The MP-308 is Tesco?s current top of the range mini MP3 player with FM radio, and at 3p shy of £30 places it firmly in the budget end of the market.
Having very recently ?goosed? my previous player doing a firmware upgrade, I got mine as an impulse purchase.
It?s small ? about the same size as a lighter, and has a rechargeable battery, so running costs are minimal.
You get everything you need; the player, a USB lead, a pair of cheap headphones, and a set of paper instructions and a mini-CD.
In fact if you?ve previously owned an MP3 player, you can probably dispense with the last two items, the player supports traditional ?drag?n?drop? from your ?my music? folder.
The instructions suggest that it?s far better to use the application which comes with the machine, that way you can make playlists, catalogue your albums and so...

Tecknika mp3 player
Advantages: No batteries needed
Disadvantages: None
...When my son asked for an MP3 player so that he could take it to school for art, my first thought was no way because they are to expensive for someone to pinch.
We were in Tesco and noticed this product for only £15, so I took a closer look.
It is a small mp3 player which is good, because you can hide it well, especially when outside, it comes with 4 different face covers and does not take batteries, so yes I bought it, on the understanding that we will see how he takes care of this one and then we will by him a better if he does take care of it.
Well we have no need to buy another one because this little mp3 is brilliant.
To start with the batteries, as I have mentioned it doesn't take batteries, well it has an lithium battery inside which once charged lasts up to 8 hours, to charge it you plug the lead into the mp3 and then...

in the blue mp3/cd player
Advantages: Good basic player
Disadvantages: reliability lets it down
...I was given this player to keep me occupied on my many long bus and train journeys.
THE PLAYER
This is a Japanese mp3 and CD player, which comes in a silver and blue top with a grey base. It is 13cmx13cmx2½cm which is about average size, so its more bag sized than pocket sized. It comes with an adapter and ear bud type headphones. It only has a small display area, so only displays limited information on it, such as which track and album or how long the song has been playing for. There are also little icons to display what modes you have it on, which are discussed later. The buttons are fairly small, so not fab it you are fumbling about in the dark or going under a tunnel, or if you have any arthritic type problems that makes it difficult to press small buttons. The overall appearance is nice and suitable for male or female...

The best small 4GB MP3 player -No its NOT an IPOD!
Advantages: Small & Sleek design, Can store any file format
Disadvantages: Small screen (although it still gives all the information you ever need)
...OK, so I may be a bit bias as I have a MuVo2 & not an IPOD, but read on & decide for yourself!
A couple of months ago I started looking for some personal audio that could play hours of music without me having to change CDs or anything (so I didn't have to have an endless supply of CDs in the office). I finally settled on a CD/MP3 player which allowed me to burn any songs I wanted onto a CD (fitting around 170 on a disc). However I only used this for a couple of months as I managed to win this MP3 player through 'Nuts' magazine (please don't call me that!). I have since looked at some prices & it can be found from £150 to £200 depending where you look.
The MuVo2 4GB has the same memory as the apple ipod mini. It weighs the same as a small mobile phone (about 91g) & although it is 15mm wider & 6mm deeper, it is a massive 25mm shorter...

Stunning little 256mb MP3 player for under £5
Advantages: Price, Simple to use, Quality
Disadvantages: Minimal features
...I have been debating whether to splash out on an mp3 player for quite some time now but always seemed to have something else to spend the money on so had not purchased one until now.
While picking up some essentials I spotted the Technika MP-906 mp3 player which Tesco are currently retailing for £4.97 and so decided that at under £5 what the hell.
I have to say it is probably the best £5 I have ever spent. For this price you don't expect much and so I was expecting a lightweight flimsy feeling piece of kit, but I couldn't have been more wrong.
The first thing you notice when you remove the player from the packaging is the quality feel of the player. Not the flimsy plastic I was expecting but a solid plastic with a soft rubbery texture that is incredibly comfortable to hold.
The styling of the player is very smooth...

MP3 Player MP-906, Cheap and Cheerful
Advantages: Cheap! small, user friendly, no-one will ever want to steal it and you can replace cheaply if it breaks!
Disadvantages: No locking device, non standard headphones, obviously not hi-tech!
...I seem to start all my reviews with some brief autobiographical notes so here goes...
~~The Autobiography of my MP3 use~~
My MP3 player broke. I was not happy. One of the reasons I wasn't happy was that it had reached that perfect state of being old, out-moded and shabby which meant no-one would be tempted to steal it on my upcoming Round the World trip and I wouldn't care if they did. Now I had to find another old, out-moded and shabby MP3 player to take with me. In the meantime I was stuck training for Race for Life in silence (unless I sang to myself and, being a Reception Teacher, I am only really confident on the lyrics to Nursery Rhymes. You get funny looks jogging round the local park singing 3 Blind Mice, believe me)
That's when I spotted these little babies in Tesco for only £4.97. I couldn't quite believe it. After...

CD/MP3 player of kings
Advantages: MP3 playback and long battery life
Disadvantages: The random function doesn't work properly
...trouble.
The only disadvantage that I?ve found, apart from the headphones, is the random function. On my player it seems to play loops of 3 or 4 songs every now and again, and I can?t see why. It can be funny if you think about it.... or maybe not.
It costs around £60 in the shops which represents excellent value, especially with the saving you make on batteries. There are similar models available with almost the same features but no remote for around £10 less if you?re happy to use only the buttons on the player.
If you need a CD/mp3 player for under £100 then this is one you should definitely consider buying....

Napa MP3 player
Advantages: Small and compact
Disadvantages: N / A
...Napa 256 Mb MP3 Player.
This portable MP3 player seems to be only available from Currys and Dixons, or at least it was at Christmas when I bought mine. For anyone who doesn't know, an Mp3 player can be used to store digital music tracks, and then can be used to payback whenever you wish. Basically it's a new age digital personal stereo.
It is really quite small for what it is.
Its size is : 85mm x 35mm x 20mm. This is roughly the same size as your index and middle finger combined. Its weight is 40 grams.
You need to be able to connect your Mp3 player to your PC, which is achieved by using the USB cable which is supplied in the box. A CD which has the driver for your Mp3 player is also included, but if you are running a reasonably up to date operating system such as Windows ME or higher then the driver is unnecessary...

Aigo mp3 Player (a203)
Advantages: Cheap and Small
Disadvantages: Rubbish earphones and slow response buttons
...a tutorial but I never used that, being a man I just jumped straight in.
The MP3 player itself can play MP3, WMA and DR9 formats and comes in a few sizes of 128MB/256MB/512MB/1GB/2GB memory . The LCD screen is quite small but uses text to display what is needed and tracks playing. On the one end you have a cap covering the usb connector that will fit standard usb ports, unfotunately the instructions do not say whether it is USB 1 or USB 2 but I put it in my USB 2 slot and it works fine(other websites say its USB 1.1). It has a number of functions that can all be accessed through the mode button, you press it down to bring up menu and switch left or right to desired option and then press it again to select, some of the fucntions thourgh the mode button are as follows ...

Samsung MP3 player, 2GB or 4GB
Advantages: Affordable, reliable, easy to use and transfer songs to
Disadvantages: memory may not be big enough for all people, pictures are slow
...Having had this MP3 player now for nearly 2 years, I have not had any problems with it. It is very reliable, never crashes, freezes etc on me, is really easy to put music on, and is at a very reasonable price, even the 4GB is very affordable and very durable, I have dropped mine countless times without any problems. Something you may not think of is that the screen is very clear and easy to use in all lights(brightness of screen can also be altered) and does not scratch easily. I would recommend this to people who have a large music library, but are often able to change the music on the MP3 player due to the 2GB only holding around 500 songs, and the 4GB holding around 1000 songs. Fits easily into ipod nano(older shape) pouches therefore good for sports etc. one downfall is that the picture viewer can be a bit sluggish, and I found...
