The best hotel/attraction in Dubai

Advantages: Exclusive, brilliant, luxurious, great service
Disadvantages: very expensive

Their demands were obviously not met as it would cause a big loss to Dubai's economy and would cause major controversy. The people complaining were reassured that the shape the Burj Al Arab took was just a mere coincidence and was no big deal. They finally accepted that they were wrong and no damage was done. In My opinion what they saw was truly just a misunderstanding and also I think it looks nothing like what they think. Fantastic Luxury Hotel in Dubai

Advantages: Everything - a real experience hotel
Disadvantages: Cost - A little too far from Town for easy shopping/eating out

...The Burj-Al-Arab (Arabian Tower) is Dubai and the UAE's answer to the landmark symbols of other countries, they compare it to the Eiffel tower (it's slightly taller by virtue of its mast) and other icons. The Burj is said to be the world's only 7 star hotel - this is something that has to be taken with a pinch of salt, hotel stars are usually awarded by national tourist authorities and in my opinion are rarely an indication of quality or value for money. Advantages: Located on Jumeriah Beach, comfortable, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, SUPERB VALUE for money and quality for a 4 star hotel

Advantages: Proximity to airport & city centre, choice of restuarant, luxury
Disadvantages: None other than distance to beach!

...This was the first holiday that my then boyfriend (now fiancé) and I took together, and also the first five star hotel I'd ever stayed in - and what an introduction to luxury it was! From the moment you arrive at the airport, you are treated like royalty by the hotel staff that are on hand to arrange complimentary transport for you and your luggage directly to the hotel. The hotel itself is barely a five minute drive from the airport, but don't let that worry you - in the two weeks we were there I don't think we noticed a single airplane. Advantages: It's spectacular and surprisingly quiet and the best location in the city

Great 5 star hotel

Advantages: Great service and cheap for a 5 star hotel
Disadvantages: May need to book a room in advance

...There are two sites to the Renaissance Hotel. There is the Renaissance Wing Deluxe and the New World Wing Superior. There is not much difference, Renaissance Wing Deluxe is a little more luxury, which each room will cost more. I stay at the New World Wing Superior. I paid RM 185 (approx £26) excluding service charge and 5% gov tax. Rates will changes depending on the month of the year (See below). The hotel is based close to the city centre, were it is 10 minute walking distance to the Twin Tower and 20 minute walk to the a shopping area. There are taxis and buses if you don't feel like walking. But I recommend using the Monorail, which is close by. The view is great, I was on the 17th floor and I had a brilliant view of the Twin Towers. I would think if you were at the Renaissance Wing Deluxe site, you would get the view of the KL...

5 star hotel, 4 star price tag - Maritim Hotel, Mauritius

Advantages: The service is exceptional

  Comfortable & relaxing stay for 5 star Hilton!

Advantages: comfortable, beach location, better value than newer 5 star hotels, good customer service.
Disadvantages: overshadowed by construction of taller buildings behind the Hilton - pool area is partly shaded

..., the only problem with the room, was its location; it was too near to the entrance to the Spa. This meant that every 10 minutes or so you would hear someone (usually the staff) coming in/out to check the Spa is ok. There is health Club that offers mainly massages. I chose a 30-minute treatment called the Bali Touch, which is head massage using oil. You are suggested to leave the oil on and use the steam room afterwards. The end result after washing my hair it was luxuriously soft and silky. The cost was 100AED (~£15), which is not too bad for a 5 star hotel. Overall, would I recommend Hilton? Yes, if you've never been to Dubai you will absolutely love it. But personally, I feel the Hilton is a bit dated now and newer and better 5 star and 4 star hotels are available in Dubai, like Al Qsar, The Palace at One & Only Royal Mirage but these are...
