Malaguti Yesterday 50cc Scooter!!
Review of Malaguti Yesterday 50cc Scooter by
kellywrall
Advantages: Cheap to run
Disadvantages: Cold in winter
...I have never had a scooter or bike before, so decided to invest in a Malaguti Yesterday in maroon.
It's a 49.2cc (so just under 50cc really) single cylinder 2 stroke engine.
It has got both electric and kick start, and I find it extremely reliable. It doesn't like electric starts when it is freezing, but you can't fault that. Starts first kick most morning, no problem.
It has tubeless tyres, front and rear brakes, and front and rear suspension.
It has a 2 gallon (9 litres) fuel tank located just behind the seat. I usually put about 3/4 quid a week and that lasts me all week. It isn't at all expensive to run.
I buy the 2 stroke oil about once every 6 weeks, and thats only a couple of quid a bottle, so it's not breaking the bank.
There is helmet storage area underneath the seat, and it is a large comfy seat unlike...

gilera dna 50cc
Review of Aprilia Gilera DNA 50cc by
1989rh
Advantages: fast acceleration, great handling
Disadvantages: gussles oil a bit
...i've had this gilera dna for just over a year and its been the best of my life. i love this bike!!!!!
i've just bought dunlop front and back tyres for this and jesus, it sticks to the road. i always manage to get my knee down at high speeds.
the accelaration is superb, beating of most peds. beware though it slows down a bit when de-resticted. the top end speed is restricted to 25-30 mph which in my mind is dangerously slow. i de-restricted mine and it reach speeds of 45-50mph. i then decided to mod my bike.
i got an after-market exhaust, gear up kit, variator kit, unrestricted my rpm clock and much more. it now reaches speed of 75mph +
the bike looks fantasic. like a superbike but with no gears and a 50cc engine.
recently i came of it sliping on some deisel or oil and the road. and at speeds of about 40mph there was no f@!k all...

NRG eXtreme 50cc great bike!
Review of Vespa Piaggio NRG eXtreme by
davidmuk
Advantages: Good acceleration, stylish
Disadvantages: UK petrol taxes suck!
...This is a great scooter. Although it is only a 50cc it is very quick of the mark (let's just say I thrashed a BMW for a short while). The brakes are very good and responsive. The design is very good and I have the yellow/black version. The bike handles exceptionally well and I've taken numerous roundabout without touching the brakes or letting the throttle off. The bike features a Rev. counter, sports design exhaust, racing wheels and tyres and racing display. There is a large compartment under the seat which is made to put your helmet in. I would recommend this bike to anyone either as a first time bike when you reach 16 or if you just want to travel to local places in style....

fantastic 50cc ... perfect for modifying
Review of Peugeot Speedfight by
martinkearns987
Advantages: good price ... proformance ... economic ... get you looks
Disadvantages: the 'white van man' and 'city bus driver'
...what a fantastic 50cc scooter ...
i got this ... 18,000 miles on the clock ... pearlesant paint ... all the carbon fibre parts ... lexus rear and front lights ... sports exhaust and silencer ... £500 ... what can be better ...
thats my bike of course ... the standard bikes are nice and i believe are £1695 brand new or about £900 a year old ...
the scooter its great ... i'm 6 foot 4 ... 11 stone and the scooter goes fantastically ... new bikes easily hit 55 - 65 mph on the flat with a sports exhaust ... mine hits about 50 mph ... because it has done 18,000 miles and is a 'W' reg ... not old but is well used ...
the bike is great handling ... has kick start ... electric start ... imobeliser (on the new ones) ... comfy as hell seat ... steering lock ... pertrol gage ... speed gage (rather obvious) ... 2 disc braked wheels (mine...

Gilera 50cc motor scooter
Review of Gilera Runner DD by
gypgyp
Advantages: Cheap running costs, fun to ride
Disadvantages: A bit cold in Winter
...I bought my Gilera Runner DD 50cc motor scooter just over a year now and have been pleasantly surprised with it. I bought it to mainly use when the car wasn't available but have found myself using it more and more recently.
I know you see a lot of scooters on the roads these days - many of which seem to be holding the traffic up but not mine. It will go comfortably at 50mph and a bit faster if needed which is an ideal speed for travelling back and forth to work.
The petrol costs are really good and insurance is ok. As long as you have a full motor vehicle licence you don't even need to do any bike training.
An excellent alternative to the motor vehicle for short journeys to work....

Speedfight 1 - 50cc
Review of Peugeot Speedfight by
SammyLeeds
Advantages: Nice and zippy
Disadvantages: Didnt like to start on cold mornings
...and dance about it no one will say anything.
I would say to anyone with a full car driving licence get a 100cc scooter - although the speed output isnt much more than the 50cc version, you notice the power difference when pulling away from traffic lights etc.
It was a very comfortable ride, its a lovely quiet scooter - although my friends renamed it the hairdryer due to the engine sound!
Soon after buying the scooter i invested in a new sports exhaust, complete with E mark - It made a slight difference to the speed - almost touched 60mph on the flat, and made it sound really cool. You can buy a sports exhaust for around £100-150, but always look for a kite mark or an E mark (the European equivilant of a kite mark) or it wont get through its MOT.
Its a well designed scooter with a sporty feel - and the colour schemes are brilliant. It comes...

best 50cc
Review of Derbi Senda R by
northlights
Advantages: very fast for 50cc
Disadvantages: parts
...Ok just so you all know im going to tell you about my first and definatly not last motorbike.
It was a 2003 Derbi Senda R Extreme, It cost me new £1899 from derbi direct in lincon.
First i will give you a few bits of advise:
1. If you dont want to be stuck at 30mph take out the restriction in the exhaust, its where the expansion chamber bolts onto the cylinder. just use a dremel of something similar to cut the weld holding the restrictor in.
2. With it being a dirt bike styled 50cc people will want them. Make sure you secure it well. Mine had a disc lock and it was it a locked garage but 2 men can easly lift the bike, (ground anchors are best) Alarms are even better, datatool make one that has low battery drain and fits perfectly under the seat.
What can i say, from the first day i took it out it turned heads (i had de...

The undisputed champion of 50cc motorbikes
Review of Aprilia RS50 by
Stoyve
Advantages: Incredible power for such a tiny engine, amazing handling
Disadvantages: Comfort and practicality are nothing to boast about
...their job, but not well enough for some (I'll come to that later). Since you're only supposed to be doing 30mph on this bike they don't need to be outstanding or top of the range, so you shouldn't notice. When I rode my bike the first time my brakes had an incredibly annoying squeak whenever they were applied - it was almost embarrassing. Eventually, after a lot of messing around, I managed to almost-fix the problem. But the brakes aren't really my biggest concern.
Fuel consumption was never an issue for me. It was always the price of fuel. The RS50 sports a 13-litre tank, while most 50cc mopeds have a 5-litre tank. But practicality is exactly how you would expect it to be - nil. The closest this bike comes to having storage space is a small cubby hole under that bastard seat that can fit absolutely nothing inside it. Even if I could fit...

Malaguti yesterday scooter
Review of Malaguti Yesterday 50cc Scooter by
ThinLizzy
Advantages: Grreat looks, Good handling, Very reliable, good throttle response.
Disadvantages: a bit small for me 6foot 1, small amount of storage space.
...Well i have had the malagut yesterday 50cc scooter for about 3 months now, and it was a very wise investment. i had a new job and i needed a cheap and efficient way to travel to and from work, and as soon as i walked in my loca dealers store i was sold, the looks of this are amazing, nothing on this looks cheap at all like some other scooters, this is quality through and through, i put my deposit down and took it for its firs voyage. It pulled away very well, even with a rider of my weight on it (14 stone) and the handling is very good, the stylish whitewall tyres grip the road very well, so there are no scary moments, it does not make that horrid bee in a biscuit tin sound that most scooters make, this is more of a purr, it sounds beautiful, the suspension is nice and plush so it absorbs all the road has to throw at you, my only issues...

Gilera DNA 50
Review of Aprilia Gilera DNA 50cc by
Diceof2
Advantages: Speed, Reliability, Appearance, Value
Disadvantages: Small Petrol Tank,
...time biker. There are no manual gears, The bike is built on the same principal as a Scooter/Ped - "Twist n Go" . The only down side i found was the Petrol Tank. Although 50cc bikes are renound for their small fuel consumtion, i felt the Gilera DNA 50 has a surprisingly small fuel tank. Although the bike didnt burn much fuel, It couldnt hold much either meaning you wasted time filling it up frequantly.
Overall, This bike takes a healthy 7/10 for Performance.
Looks...
I Bought my bike in Scarlet Red and found it to be very attractive. Although smaller then your adverage bike, I found it to be just right for myself giving me a compfy ride. The Bikes "Puny" Exaust Slightly let the side down but then i wasnt really expecting a full size Honda CBR Exaust to be fitted to my little 50.
Overall, This bike takes a promising 8...
