Fuji's XD Memory Card
Review of Fujifilm XD-Picture Card 1024 MB by
lyndsayw
Advantages: Great choice of memory size
Disadvantages: Superseded
...The Fuji XD Picture Card I bought with the Fuji FinePix F700 camera was the 512 MB version this allows a good amount of photo’s to be taken depending what mode your camera is set to quality wise the greater the quality the more space that is needed.
These are a slim design 20X25X1.7mm with a weight of 2 grams.
The XD Picture Card comes in 4 memory sizes they are: 256MB, 512 MB, 1GB and 2 GB cards they are small and compact and can be read by most card readers. The prices for this range from £11.95 to £38.95 new from http://www.askdirect.co.uk
These are still a great card for great camera’s the quick research I done by having a look on E bay for some second hand cards reveal that these cards are cheap 2 purchase and the cameras are cheap as well especially for the quality that you are getting.
All you need to do to install...

Hello.
These 256 mb XD memory cards are made by Fujifilm are the latest in a line of good storage ideas for solid state information.
Apparently the name comes from "eXtreme Digital"
The price is very realistic at £9.99 each from various sites, plus delivery of course. I have just found some at £9.65 INCLUDING delivery, and a five year guarantee.
See:-

Small can mean large
Review of Olympus M-XD 512 XD CARD XD 512 512 MB by
Kingseany
Advantages: Tiny, Large capacity
Disadvantages: Easy to lose, more expensive than other formats
...XD Picture Cards are a fairly recent introduction to the memory card market. Developed by Olympus and Fuji, these tiny cards can store hundreds of megabytes of information (or images). When I say tiny, I mean, you could probably easily swallow one - although it's better to put them into a camera instead. If you get out your ruler, you'll see that the card is 20mm x 25mm x 1.7mm, with a weight of only 2 grams - you could almost stick one on a letter and post it.
Don't let the physical size put you off though, as capacties are ranged from small 16Mb or 32Mb cards (typically bundled with cameras) up to much larger 512Mb and now 1Gb, released earlier this year. If you think this is big, let me tell you that capacties up to 8Gb will be possible in the not too distant future. This is due to the multi-level cell (MLC) technology, which...

A step up from 256MB but not quite 1GB
Review of Olympus M-XD 512 XD CARD XD 512 512 MB by
alimason
Advantages: store over 400 photos, good video time
Disadvantages: not a huge capacity, easy to lose
...I bought this card some time ago now and it was meant to be an addition to my 256mb card, for when i get a bit photo happy, but it soon became my primary card.
A few stats about the card: If you have a camera that is 5,6,7,8, or 10 mega pixels the card will hold 405, 335, 285, 250 and 200 photos respectively. In addition the card will also hold video (with or without sound) and the capacity is anything from 9 minutes and 21 seconds to 1 hour 21 minutes and 53 seconds, it entirely depnds on the type of camera and the settings on the camera. In terms of size the card is tiny, smaller than a penny and weighs practically nothing.
I have a 5 mega pixel camera so i found the capacity adequate and one can easily click away without having to worry about deleting photos. The video capacity is also useful as it means you can take a good...

Fujifilm XD Picture Card (128mb)
Review of Fujifilm xD-Picture Card 128MB by
offspringy
Advantages: Fast, Tiney Physical Size, Decent storage for price
Disadvantages: Not as wide spread as SD + Compact Flash
...The Fujifilm XD Picture Card (128mb) is a very small (aprox 1.5cm) Memory card used in most Fujifilm cameras.
It was developed jointly between Fujifilm and Olympus to create the worlds smallest and very fast memory card, which Fuji dropped into their camera's to promote them.
The XD picture cards have had an update in recent months where they got even faster, and can be distinguished from the older models by their blue writing (there are 2 versions of XD card, normal and fast) the older card is black with gold writing.
The card i bought (128mb) holds enough for small cameras (1-3mpx) but anything over that its a struggle to squeeze all your images onto it, i get on average 30-50 images before i have to dump my memory onto a hard drive (at 6mpx).
Price when it was released was around £50 (which unfortunately i paid) you can...

A brilliant card with plenty of capacity
Review of Olympus XD CARD 1024 MB by
alimason
Advantages: more than enough photos
Disadvantages: only really useable in cameras
...Out of the 3 cards i own this is by far the best. It is easy to use has plenty of capacity and i think it is more compatible with my camera than the other branded XD cards.
But first just a few statistics: if you have a 5, 6, 7, 8 or 10 mega pixel camera this card will hold 815, 675, 570, 500 or 400 photos respectively, which is obviously double the capcity of a 512mb card. You are also able to store at least 18 minutes of video on this card (best quality with sound) and at poorer qualities without sound you are able to hold nearly four hours. In terms of size and weight this card is no bigger than any other XD card and is smaller than other model cards such as compact flash, in fact it can be compared in size to a penny.
From my personal experience i have found this card to be perfect in terms of capacity. I have taken it on many...

Sandisk 512Mb memory card
Review of Sandisk Securedigital SD 512 512 MB by
01zesty01
Advantages: Small, reliable
Disadvantages: The lock feature is delicate
...So the SanDisk SD flash memory card 512MB.
Well as a start like most memory cards these days , its nice and small ( perfect for getting lost if your not careful). Despite its size its nice and long lasting ( well mines still alive anyway..or it was the last time i used it) you get a ncie handy case, you know incase you like accidently sit on it or something.
So 512MB , its a pretty good amount of memory for camera use , but if you really do like to get out there and basicly film your entire life, you\'d probably be better off with more memory, i recomend the 1gb or 2gb sandisk memory card.
So what a lovely shade of blue, hmm, yes its a bit boring compared to other memory cards, but what do you expect, half the time you cant see it anyway because its inside a device.
I found that the card can be read and written really fast...

fujifilm xd 128mb card
Review of Fujifilm xD-Picture Card 128MB by
markfarrow
Advantages: large memory, easy transfer
Disadvantages: small size. price.
...i quickly out grew the 16mb card i got with my camera, so invested in the 128mb xd card. good choice.
i have listed price as a dissadvantage, but it seems that the price has come down alot since i bought mine, so shop arround and find the best deal you can befor buying.
the card operates in the same way as the 16mb version, only the staorage is much much higher, i have been getting arround 100-110 high quality pictures on this card, seems alot to take, but when your on holiday downloading them to your pc is not possible. so you still have to be a bit carefull about what pictures you want to keep or delete, after all you dont want to miss any memories of your hard earned holiday.
transfering the pictures is still just as easy, although my pc takes a while to bring all the thumbnails of 100 images for downloading so i would say...

fujifilm xd 16mb card
Review of Fujifilm xD-Picture Card 16MB by
markfarrow
Advantages: easy storage and trnsfer of pictures
Disadvantages: small amount of storage
...this card came free with my digital camera, allthough you can by it as a stand alone card.
its small size can make it tricky to handle and instert into cameras and card readers, but overall it performs well. i have not had any problems with data stored on the card, as you can with some types.
there is quite a range of readers and adaptors availible for the xd card, and i would recomend a card reader be installed onto your pc for even simpler operation and transfer.
i have found that this card quickly becomes full, taking and storing on average 14 high quality images or about 25 low quality ones.
so overall, this card operates well as a beginers card, but i think you will soon out grow the storage space and i would reccomend a card of arround 128mb for any budding photographers out there....

Store your Memories on the XD
Review of Fujifilm XD CARD 16 MB by
tac20
Advantages: Stylish, small size, reliable
Disadvantages: More expensive than other brands, small capacity
...The 16MB Fujifilm XD card comes free with all the Fujifilm digital cameras I have come into contact with or know about. Basically its a memory card that slots into the camera to store a minimal amount of images. Seeing as Fujifilm digital cameras do not come with any storage space on the camera itself, the 16 MB XD card is ideal for new users who have just just bought or received a camera and want to start taking photos straight away. On a 4Megapixel camera the average size of a good quality photograph is around about 1MB (maybe slightly over), so this card will hold roughly 16 images, or more at a lower level of picture quality.
The physical design of the XD card is one of the main selling points, particularly for the larger capacity cards. They are very small compared to most memory cards (I'd guess 2/3 of the size...
